Yeah, player movement has a big impact and when you are behind cover sometimes it can seem that you are dying before the other person has even looked around the corner or over cover - leaving you no chance to counter and shoot back because you are already dead.
Or when they are in full roadie run and you shoot but somehow they have instantly killed you already
Also, shooting over / while in cover can get really sticky / buggy too - I find sometimes the shots behave as expected but other times they can be way off.
Ultimately - it’s the consistency that’s the issue with the Gnasher.
When the game launched it was plagued by the 83% issue.
However recently this seems to be back but with 83% and less.
So many point blank, full pellet shots up close are coming back as 40-50-60-70% after instant death …
I think a lot has to do with there 3rd person positioning of the camera and where shots come from them selves. Like the video I linked earlier it obviously doesn’t come out of the barrel of the gun. And it never has on old gears as well. But this one is at a all time bad and they blatantly ignore it
Didn’t read the full post, I’ll just say, playing social don’t expect a smooth experience with ppl joining and leaving all the time, putting even more of a load on the already questionable server soft .
Also pings from 5-60ms are totally acceptable for any game, the fact that there are still plenty of BS moments at those pings says enough, it’s not only the players ISP but the code itself.
I don’t remember G3 being as bad as this online even when playing off the servers.
I took a break from this game and decided to hop on and wouldn’t you know it, everything is worse. Literally pointblanked 2 people in the head and did little to no damage to them. Honestly this is the first time I give up on gears. I loved this game to a certain degree but all the lag, quitters, and sponging is just unbearable.
You know it’s bad when Gears 3 which has a very low population has less sponging issues than the newer game. I haven’t played Gears 4 in nearly a week and it’s been the best gaming experience in a while. Instead, I’ve played Halo 5 which hasn’t had any lag issues whatsoever. The Coalition claims the online experience is on par with other games yet it can’t handle the simplest things. For example, how can this be true?
Gears 4: An 80ms ping player breaks the game for everyone. Even low pings begin to teleport due to it.
Halo, Overwatch, Battlefield: Higher pings still die and in some cases may teleport but they still die. My game doesn’t all of a sudden become sticky and force me to teleport.
That doesn’t sound like a comparable experience to me. Not even remotely…
This is the kind of stuff that happens when your mentality is “250ms is acceptable”. Newsflash: it’s not acceptable. Never was and never will be. If your ping is that high you shouldn’t be allowed in rank. Hell, if your ping is even 90ms you shouldn’t be in ranked with this awful netcode.
My connection isnt perfect but i shouldn’t be having issues like I do. And it’s only on gears. I just used the Xbox network test. Yes I’m hardwired. And the internet is fiber optic as well my ping hardly ever brakes 20
It’s more then that though. Halo also uses Azure and I don’t have any issues there. None whatsoever. Gears has issues every match. If anything it goes to show the programming in Gears 4 is so broken it’s a joke.
Yes I agree 100%, I’ve been going crazy the last few nights cause I thought it was me being ■■■, like today I put 3 shots into a guy and it said I did 93 up close, didn’t miss a single bullet
Just played a game of Blitz which ran fine until 4 players joined in the second match and some pinging as high as 180ms with spikes to 390ms. Needless to say the game started to run extremely poorly at that point. Especially considering I was pinging 25-30ms.
I consistently run into Mexico players running and 150ms+ ping while i steadily run at 20-30ms as well. But this week alone was the worst week. It ran Terrible, probably since the blitz release I would assume. Because it wasn’t as bad before this week
The worst is when it does that,in ranked. point blank players,in Gibb distance. And they turn and bblast me 100%. Even worse when u outplay the whole team and you try to clutch them. And non of your gnasher shots eliminate the players.
even WORSE im behind the opposite team and outsmarted them agin,and right when im about to shot them to Obliivion,i get rubberband to oblivion instead.
I lost too many matches because of that error in ranked.
PLEASE! Set the lobbys up as fairly as possible! i ping in the 30s,its very annoying playing against and with teammates that pings over 150.
With pings in that fasion,my shots doesnt reg fast enough in duels. i rather not get matched with super high good players,cause i feel that battle is almost unwinable.
