[Rant] Why let new/low lvl players do inconceivable lvl content

Can we please limit the difficulty levels new players can do even further? It’s annoying enough to deal with the elitist high level snowflakes that leave an Escape match (Horde also for that matter) as soon as the most minimal thing doesn’t go to their liking. Then we also have to deal with people that actually don’t know what they’re doing, ending up sabotaging the team because of it. I don’t get why you would go for a random Inconceivable run while being completely new anyway yet it still happens regularly. Can’t we just lock them out of it so we all don’t waste our time?

And to the ‘jUsT pLaY wItH yoUr fRiEnDs’ comments. My friends still play GoW4 and don’t seem really interested in G5 so I’m kinda stuck playing with randoms which is fine. I don’t need high leaderboard scores. It just would be nice to not wait 5 minutes for a game only to have it ruined by a player clearly way out of his league.

There’s not enough people playing this game. I understand your frustration as we all have been in those situations on daily bases.

Limiting this game or splitting it up into categories of who can play at what difficulty would only result in huge waiting times for an actual game.

This has been brought up many times before.

Fair point. But what is more detrimental? Having to wait a bit longer with a much higher chance of getting a competent team or having multiple unfinished games because of teammates having no business playing on that difficulty level yet.

I mean im used to 10+ minute waiting times (GoW4 horde insane lol) so im biased as hell regarding this but have they ever tested this to see if theres any merit to it?

No, it wouldn’t.

TC basically did the exact same thing with VS by not allowing split-screeners or anyone under a specific level (I think 30 or 50) from searching for a ranked game. This didn’t harm matchmaking times at all. Plus, these players could still play on Beginner or Advanced (they usually do anyways) or find a game in customs.

It’s not like theres a pandemic level of noobs searching for Inconceivable matches. However, when it does happen, the run is basically a RIP. They either quit by wave 2 cause they’ve died seven times, or are utterly useless because they’re using a level 2 protector.

Not many people want to wait for a game in a lobby these days. We had a game today where there was three of us friends and a couple randoms. We said will start in 2 min. One left after a min and the other 30secs later. Five min later two other randoms join.

TC will do nothing about this. It happens almost in every game where people are randoms.

It’s unfortunate but I don’t play any games where at least two or three friends are in, and like I always say “Thanks for the kick button”

It would still be nice if we could get a filter for custom lobbies so that certain classes or classes below a certain level can’t be played in your lobby.

Dude just play horde and escape in private lobbies it’s the best way to do it you can even go one step further and host your own so you have total control of who you allow in.

Don’t think TC can segregate the community by doing this. People have been asking to only let certain levels play higher difficulties for a while now. But, to be honest, it wouldn’t workout. Some people can be carried and reach that specific rank and not be good enough to play that higher difficulty. So why even bother?

How would you sort out the people that don’t know what they’re doing? I’ve been in horde matches with plenty of lvl 18-19 characters who have been pretty clueless.

For Horde Frenzy, it should be class levels: Beginner 1-20, Advanced 10 -20, Inconceivable 15-20. I remember playing this one time where I played 5 games, on Advanced, and each time we failed at the 7th wave because the team of randoms sucked so bad! That’s about 1 hour of play time wasted! I don’t care if you’ve re-upped 20 times, you are still not going to do well with a level 1 class on Advanced.

Ah, you see my friend, it would appear that the low levels want to perish at their own discretion .

Although, I do find it egregious that others can some how, some way ruin an experience without even trying to.

Then again, it is just my opinion after all.

Advanced isn’t difficult.

Like, I understand and agree with the general premise of the thread, but depending on what modifiers you pick, Advanced is absolutely doable with a team of lvl.1s.

Indeed, if people can beat classic on incon then they can beat incon with a level 1 character

Well I wouldn’t go to that extreme. Classic horde is its own different beast. But with a competent engineer and people not being stupid, you can walk through Advanced at any level, really. Especially if the higher damage modifier isn’t picked.

What causes people to lose at less than Insane isn’t low leveled characters. It’s bad/ignorant players. Guys who frequently run out of position, or buy their own stuff instead of letting the engineer, or worse, an engineer who doesn’t know how to setup. A marksman who can’t snipe. A Jack who barely uses the forge built for him. An infiltrator who keeps dying on the other end of the map. That sort of stuff.

The only thing you can do is host a public lobby and then from there decide who can and who can’t join. A player joins with a low level then kick them. Of course if you join someone elses game or are using matchmaking (why would you use matchmaking) then its user fault.

These Escape and Horde rants are exactly why I host my own games. Its not 100% success rate for completing but its much better than joining someone else who will allow low levels at high difficulties or player who haven’t got a clue lol.

Honestly the comment on people do not know what they are doing is subjective unless is obvious. disagreement on fabricator location my not be a sign that someone does not know what they’re doing just a difference in play. whereas Inflator thing they can stay cloaked as the run to the other side.
I also have notice with myself that I sometimes forget when I switch classes what the set up is and they game starts so fast that I cannot chance hence the wrong cards. Some lobbies do not like duplicates, so I am rushing to change and may not have the wrong cards. I guess setting up all classes on horde and escape would be the right thing to do bur in escape and modifiers some cards make sense to change.
