Rant ahead - you’ve been warned :)

Thanks for feedback guys.

To clarify- I do have a team but sometimes they are not online and I just want to play. I’ve done a few solo runs but there are times when I want to have a nice and quick run with other people, hence joining public lobbies.
I have to say that I had quite a few successful runs with randoms.
Eg most of Escape maps have been mastered by me with randoms. The most surprised successful run I had was on the Split.
That map is tough and I was really lucky to get great players.
But having said that, I was the host most times.

Anyway, after my rant I changed the name of my lobby from “ Be good and have fun” to “ Idiots need not apply”…
My lobby has never filled that fast

lol some time ago there was a lobby that I kept seeing called, “Braindead idiots wanted. Apply in here” or something. like that. Maybe you’ve seen it. I wouldn’t join it of course. Don’t know what that host was up to, but it seemed to fill up rather quickly!

I haven’t seen that but can imagine
Sometimes I see lobbies called “ don’t join this lobby”… then why would you keep it open??

Random people can suck. If I were on more then I’d try to join you more.
If we can communicate then I’d adapt to the circumstances and hopefully be of some benefit

Be quiet

I’ve seen that one too. I’d love to be a fly on the wall for this games just to see how it all pans out!

One lobby I see alot, is simply “noobs **** off!” and is hosted by a Chinese person (well, they have a Chinese name and the connection is bad enough from me that it could be in China. Or they could just be a weibo-type). I’ve never joined it because of the connection .

:joy::joy::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Was this on horde or escape lobby? I’m regular on horde and I’ve never seen it yet. Love to have a peek and see who is the host.

Yea. It is so bad that I make extra sure to have the class and cards I want for the hive in question ready to go before I even bother joining .

Trouble is, by the time you sort all of that out the lobby will have filled up!

Plus choosing from so many classes can be a reactive thing too - I sometimes change my class based on what the other people are.

Maybe it’s a bad day today but trying to level Combat Medic and Robotics Expert(the only classes below level 16 I had left) on Surge runs and it was nothing short of a pain. First, I’m looking for lobbies and wait a while before one pops up(at that point I wasn’t bothered hosting one myself), then when I did find one every other match started by a host just told me I “lost connection to the game” when I still clearly had internet connection… duh.

So after a few times of that I decided to host myself and after a few games I am greeted by the ever so lovely infinite Escape loading screen so I restart and go back to it to always get people leaving after one or two runs or have an AFK that starts moving after half a minute, then the person I was going ahead with gets shot by the idiot bots while being hidden behind the saferoom walls, then both of them immediately quit instead of waiting out the five seconds it takes to restart.

And they wonder why I don’t bother playing with randoms. I can’t even get reliable Insane Surge runs going with them half the time and they’re pretty much the easiest thing to exist FFS.

I typically don’t care about who joins and beaten many master games without a demo or jack. I can understand wanting a jack on some maps if the taps can be somewhere they don’t want to set up near.

I’ll set a horde lobby up stating all welcome or play as a team and no one ever joins. I honestly dont care what classes people pick, as long as they play their class.
It just seems like unless the lobby’s name doesnt have dont be a noob or need jd, it doesn’t show up in the queue lol.

Maybe they have learnt from all the host idiots who do not write anything other than “XP/cards. All welcome” in their lobby to proceed to kick you out of their Overload lobby - where they are using BLADEMASTER at level 16, so not a class that most people would commonly accept in their lobby due to it being melee or close combat based for the most part(and the Claw skill is unlocked at level 17 so that wasn’t anyone using a ranged build) - which is one of the easiest maps available, because you joined as an engineer class merely trying to level jt to 20 for the time being… while Robotics Expert is only half engineer and definitely offensively capable even if not as immediately strong as a Marksman.

I had this case now and a few times prior, I almost always leave them a lovely message telling them about how thankful I am that they kicked me without even telling me at all to change my class with a lobby title to make you think everyone can join - very much sarcastically -, that they should learn some ■■■■■■■ manners(leaving out the censored word, because I’m not gonna be giving them anything worthy of reporting) and proceeding to block them while also informing them of the fact that they earned a one way trip to my block list for their action. Sometimes I may also ask how insecure in their abilities they must be to insist on kicking out an “inferior” class on a map that should be easy to complete, not that I expect answers as I proceed to block them after leaving the message.

I mean, it’s like these people forget you how to play the classes to level them up

I don’t have much problem with randoms. I absolutely love playing with randoms … Not .

Another Rant - Randoms still dont know how to use weapon lockers / rotate weapons on lockers.

Two gunners and me (sniper) with a lvl 3 locker. Locker has 2 trishots and my other long shot on. I goto take off a tri, drop, replace with empty longshot, pick up tri and replace full longshot - like ive done the last few times. Gunner see me half way through and takes tri and replaces before i can. He drops my empty longshot on the floor and starts knifing me.

Please noobs (he was re up 15ishgunner lvl 18ish - i would have hoped he’d have know better) try to learn how to use lockers.

I too am tired of hosts kicking players out once in. Not even given a chance to play a wave. I’m at the point where I’ll report a bad host for something just for being a jerk. Public hosts should be rated.

Yeah sometimes don’t understand the kneejerk kicking either. Just innocently trying to get a game to get the guaranteed gold card from the daily Escape on Labyrinth. Enter as lvl 18 Veteran because I wanted the card for him, BOOM! Kicked instantly. Host couldn’t have even had time to check my re-up or anything it was so fast. Maybe a few classes such as Marksman or Tactician can make Labyrinth a bit easier, but it’s not like it’s considered one of the “difficult” hives, nor does it call for a specific class as you’re only locking the wardens behind doors. Don’t see why Veteran should be worse than any other class. In fact his ult with a longshot could probably clear the final encounter by himself. Found a different game a few mins later and got through it fine, even with two noobs who took longshot, didn’t understand ammo sharing, took the most difficult route and went down like 10 times! So should’ve been doable with any class so long as there’s players who at least understand best practices.

That is my situation in Horde (I dont have any interest in Escape). Last night i attempted the daily Overload challenge with random public lobbies 4 times, failed every time. The last was annoying as frack, we got to wave 48, then an enemy got stuck inside a wall, and we couldnt finish (didnt have a marksman).

Then my team came online and we flew hrough Master games while talking about economic, US monetary policy, and constantly annoying 1 team mate by drowning him in salvos, lol…

The horde public lobby experience isnt much different from what you describe in Escape… It is really just the luck of the draw, re host or team mates…

Btw, i disagree with that idea that you cant tell anything about a player from their reup or character level. If a reup 3 character level 7 Marcus, urgh, “Veteran” joins our Master lobby to play Regency, we can safely kick him, since even if (s)he is a Horde God working on a second account, they wont have enough leveled up cards to really contribute…

A low level Jack or Engineer is useful… A low level offensive class wont have all cards unlocked and unlocked cards arent likely to be high level.

A Pilot without Hammer and with a Cryo and Buzzkill on the silverback isnt likely very useful on a challenging Master map.

YMMV, thats my team’s general opinion
