Rank grind time scale estimated,

(small mistake with my math, number of games didn’t match up with time in gold to onyx.)

At first I was going to lay into the dev team about how arbitrary the new rank system is, At about half way in (about 300 or so words) I scraped it, the fact of the matter is people must be giving them some sort of money (and by people I mean a group of players) because they don’t want to deal with a grind of some sort to unlock skins, fine and dandy I’ve spent cash to skip the grind in a few games, however this new rank system could be better but with the change in KOTH I don’t see them doing it right.

I made a post on this website on how I wish the ranking system was handled, If you want to know here’s the link. [ Idea for the ranking system ]

I did some math to see how much of a grind rank is going to be with the following rules. Lest say each match of king of the hill last an average of 30 mins and you win a set number of matches based of rank with bronze being a all wins and taking a 10 percent loss rate after bronze rank to keep it in the realm of possibility with a max of 91 points per game before each win. Now using the game’s own ranking system fee I can give the average player a time scale,

Bronze to silver 2000.
2,000 / (91 + 150) = 8 games only wins / 4 hours and 8 mins.
Silver to gold 4000
4,000 / (91 + 150 - 65 - 10% ) = 21 games / 10 hours and 57 mins.
Gold to Onyx 5000
5,000 / (91 + 150 - 130 - 10%) = 40 games / 20 hours and 8 mins
Onyx to Diamond 6000
6,000 / (91 + 150 - 170 -10%) = 56 games / 1 day.
Diamond to Master 7000
7,000 / (91 + 150 - 200 - 10%) = 114 games / 2 days.
adding off of that up it would be
total games 239 games or 4 days 5 hours and 7 mins of play time. Estimated.

Is this ranking system better? yes doesn’t feel as random, but with the caps on how much GP you can get in a match plus the fees that you have to pay after bronze rank, it feels like a grind that reward time over skill.
