Possible Beast Mode?

POSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW

At a point early in the campaign, you get the opportunity to control some of the Swarm forces, similar to how you could in Gears of Wars 3’s Beast Mode; I was thinking, would it be nice if we got a Beast Mode in Gears 5 or similar, it seems the gameplay is already there, so maybe TC shouldn’t have much to do regarding that; where I feel the mode could be lacking is in character variety; although maybe we could also get past Locust in there? (Berserker?).

What do you think?

The AI for horde is certainly in place.

My prediction is we will see it eventually.

Never happening.

It will. TC gives us exactly what we ask for. Even those that don’t see it. We get it sometimes in weird forms though. Gears 5 is exactly what was requested after 4. It just has their flair.

You will never see beast mode in gears 5.

Besides just being negative, do you have reasoning?

I’ve laid mine out.

AI in place.

Already in campaign.

The people have spoken.

If I put spoiler in the title it will actually be more of a spoiler.

Sorry to say mate but AI in place/ already in campaign means nothing, I know how it looks, it seems like they must have built a whole system to control various beasts and why would they do all that work just for a few seconds in campaign?

But simple fact is the games engine has all that pre built in. Just a few lines of code to jump to another character model with basic cut n paste movement, it’s really not alot.

Hope you don’t feel I’m jus being negative too, jus wana clear you up on false hope regarding the feeling it’s already been half implemented.

Don’t loose hope, I’m not, I REALLY want to see it too, and prey TC take this feedback an give us something amazing, a beast mode+ like

Ofc just because the engine does have alot of that done already it also by no means indicates they haven’t implemented alot of beast mode functions under the hood ready to go soon.

It just doesn’t indicate that it does
That’s false hope
I don’t like false hope

TC give us real hope, I may have been beast modes BIGGEST fan, seriously, huge gears MP fan but forgot to play vs in gears 3 lol

Agree on AI in place in campaign meaning very little. On that logic we would have had the REAL threat on Sera, the mighty Locust in Horde 3.0 and 4.0 not these silly Bacon monsters

Still back to Beast 2.0,you never know.

Gears 3 was and is just so bloody good, TC had such a perfect template :frowning:

We also have the ability to hijack in Horde and the campaign.

As to the locusts being in Horde, that was most likely because it was never considered by TC. The locust characters were released slowly over time for MP. Would have been silly to put the in Horde prior to release when they weren’t even in the campaign at all.
@Duffman_GB

Been thinking the same thing. With Jack’s hijack ability it seems most of the work is already done for a beast mode or possibly an Overrun mode.

I’d love to see either one and the new “Hero Role” system fits it perfectly.

They were in both campaigns?
Loads in the prologue of 4 and…

Also why silly?

Prologue meaning before the events of 4 happened.

Point being TC’s plan was to introduce the characters slowly to MP to make money. The argument was there was limited enemy variety in Gears 4 horde and locusts would have helped.

My point being all the ingredients are there now for beast mode. I think it’ll happen. Not sure why all the negativity when there’s ample evidence pointing towards yes.

Okay, but being in the prologue doesn’t mean they weren’t in the game at all. That’s not how that works, but I see what you’re saying.

I wish we could’ve gotten a Reaver boss fight in 4 for Horde, or Boomers, Drones, Grenadiers, Wretches and possibly normal Brumaks–which we all saw in the prologue and the Brumaks even had the same death animation in 3.

But it seems TC wants to take bigger breaks between content drops so they can put more out, Maybe this means a new mode, (Beast 2.0 or Overrun 2.0–or both) and they could potentially remaster the Gears 1-J cast of Locust for Horde mode–truly make it the biggest Gears yet. Plus, if in the hopes they do a secondary Campaign (God I hope so) we could see the return of Locust there and watch them make a comeback. As much as the Swarm are interesting and unique in their own right–I do find myself playing exclusively as Raam in Gears 5 and as Locusts in 4.

Just a thought. So we can have our hopes up. But not too high.

Right. We knew TC had the models already created and ready to go. They weren’t part of the current storyline, so it wouldn’t have fit in Horde. Yes, COG could be anyone, even the dead.

I’m not against locust returning to Horde in Gears 6. I won’t spoil here, but I’ve laid out a case elsewhere.

We need this look i loved gears 3 great game sad story i ALWAYS will continue playing beast mode when i got the beserker for the first time i almost jumped because i could see what a beserker sees and damn RIP DOM

You obv didn’t read my post, Jack’s hijack ability being in game means NOTHING
