The chainsaw is highly inconsistent in its logic…
If you are trying to revv it up, it stops if you get hit by a stray pellet (or sustain any damage from anything, like a near by incends), or get smoked
Once it’s fully revved up, only a smoke stun will make it stop, you can get hit multiple times, it won’t stop it.
I am waiting to see how they implemented in in Gears 5, apparently the lancer will now have a regular melee and the chainsaw will be a special key/feature… I really hope it no longer stops revving up with stray pellers, it really makes it largely useless in a crowed battle field where bullets are flying around all the time (like KOTH, near the ring).
or horde, trying to chainsaw a Juvie jumping around you, as it keeps scratching you, every time it hits you, the chainsaw revvup stops…
