Three Major Issues, in order of importance:
- Can’t play with friends (too big of a stack = can’t find games).
- No new versus modes. Arcade doesn’t count. The current ones are extremely boring and feel exactly the same as Gears 4.
- Only seven maps.
Those who got bored of Gears 4 and tried Gears 5 again have nothing to keep them on the game. It doesn’t offer anything better (in terms of fun).

The reason I don’t play as much anymore is due to the lack of maps. They got boring quickly and none of them really stand out for me aside from Vasgar. Only get on to do my dailies for ToD progression.

Grinding to General in the ToD for the achievement then I’m out.
Finding it difficult to even complete daily challenges it’s so boring.

Basically Gears5 isn’t Gears of War.
If this ‘thing’ didn’t have a Lancer, a few Delta members, the crimson omen & a similar title, it’d be just another unknown pos going unplayed in the gamepass.
It is sad to see it end this way.
Edit: Only sticking around for the achievements because, to me, GoW achievements were always worth x50 of those from any other game. Guess I’m still suffering the residual effects…

With the game being free on game pass there was always going to be a huge surge of players playing the game on release, now with the likes of the new destiny DLC/expansion, the new call of duty out soon, boarderlands 3 out, the fan base/ players actually playing will decrease by a vast amount. you only had to look at mixer as see all the noobs (to gears) playing the game and have now gone back to their pubg etc

I have not played for a couple of weeks. Broken campaign, forced character selection in horde, loadouts, players with high pings, over 1300ms in some cases, I have screen captured those,a free to play in game economy in a full priced game etc etc. Game is a mess and TC don’t seem to care.

Sadly this happen “when you try to cater” the wrong public losing your own game identity.

Try to improve + push to the limits on your strong points: GEARS since forever is the only game that give to you “Close-Rushdown” shotgun combats. So make the best gaming experiencie on this area with the less amount of input-lag + making the game insane responsive + make the game less “campy”

Focus on make TDM, GUARDIAN, KoTH the best gaming-exp-posible. Instead of tossing resources on Escalation or arcade-modes.

Horde & Escape modes should be at level of l4d2. Put special attention on thie “fun-factor” instead of making a generic mode.

Lancers, Hammer, Boltok, Enforcer should be “support-weapons” Not main HEAVY-DAMAGE weapons. I dont care if i hurt the feeling of the 3 players that enjoy play to camp, defensive, supportive etc. GEARS is a “aggresive-fast-placed” game not a passive “tactic” game like CoD, BFV a batttle royal. Boomer, Dropshop, grenades should spam every 240 seconds.
To Esport: First match should be a TDM, second a KoTH single round match ending with a GUARDIAN game. This will be a lot more fun tha 45 mins of escalation where nobody “knows” what is happening.
So atm they should focus return to be GEARS-3 instead of being a Gears of duty or Gears of royal

Actually TC and gears 5 is getting trashed on Twitter and reddit from what I’ve seen earlier. I’m glad. Fix this broken beta they gave us or drop it and give me a remaster of 2 or 3 please

I was about to post why hang around for cheveo’s, it seems (and to a degree is) totally pointless to stick around for some arbitrary reason. You have answered with your edit though.
For what it is worth, I still think that if you are not enjoying, move to something else, or maybe have a few weeks/months off.
It’s a bit weird though I’ll get full lobbies for several consecutive games and then it’s just backfilled with bots apart from me versus some other random. Not sure why but it’s hit and miss.
I am taking a break due to the fact I can’t be bothered playing ranked pvp on in the state it’s currently in. US servers when I’m in EU playing on 120 ping every game and it’s a real grind.

I taking a break from gears 5. Sure i might lose some stars but it really doesn’t bother me. I’m happy with the raam challanges weapon skin set i got and that all i ever need.
(Unless they released a carmine set then that will bring me back.)
Another thing is i really want to play as my favorite character Anthony Carmine. Been playing since gears 1 but he not available at this time.
Heck I’ll play again if i can play as a normal cog solider (helmet version.).
But until then there not much to do. -_-;

Haven’t played ranked in a week. Going to try it today to see what happens with the rank changes/adjustments.
The server problem has been going on 12 days for me in EU for them to not be opening talking about it is disgraceful.

Yes. More weapons. More play styles. More variety. I just don’t believe TC wants to have to balance more weapons.
