Pahanu Feedback thread

From my experience Xbox players generally had it off, and PC players generally had it on.

Btw Joe Graf mentioned allowing the host to choose friendly fire was one of the biggest mistakes they made in Gears 1.

If I recall correctly the movement speed in Gears 1 was also bugged for the entire life of the game.

When the speed was fixed for Gears 2 launch, people complained without knowing it was a bug fix.

You recall incorrectly.

Gears 2 shipped with lower CMS (character movement speed) as a bug, and too much was built around it to fix it. This was why rolling was fasting than roadie running.

Anyway, lets keep this thread on topic for the new map feedback.

Pahanu is great and we need more jungle maps.

LOL I had a feeling you’d be straight on here after that match. You can’t expect random people to play the game how you want them to play it, everyone just does whatever is most effective. In this case lancering is most effective on that map due to the cover placement.

I didn’t enjoy it either. It’s just not a KOTH map.

Haha i recognise you
The game is so terrible i cannot play good anymore the game is so crap
Its completely different to any gears of war game and is by far the worst
There is literally nothing i can do to improve at this game i shoot at people and then my second bullet doesnt come out or just does no damage and i get one shotted
Any tips apart from not play the game ever again?

Depends as a lot is situational but in general I usually always blindfire with the Gnasher, try to keep outside of one shot distance and play for the two shot down whilst strafing. My accuracy is very good though. I know if I get the first shot in there’s a good chance I’ll get the kill.

On this map you need to mostly lancer rather than moaning in game chat. The lancer is OP now with the extra clips and slower movement.

I always popshot and i land my first hit then my second shot doesnt come out every time and it looks like i didnt try shooting and i also try sliding off a cover and shooting but there is a dirty delay that causes my shot to shoot way later then when i want it to

After I’m done with my objective, I’ll check. Because I played back then, and there was no friendly fire.

I just checked, and both weapon swap and friendly fire is set to “no” before even picking a game mode. Just like how I remember it.

The new map sucks. Can’t believe it went passed testing. 4 months for this horrible map after the glorious All fathers. The map isn’t even being voted for in ranked KOTH, TDM. It’s very bad in horde too. New map after 4 months and no is voting for it.

Agreed. TC, why did you make the game COD again. If I want to play I play COD then come onto gears.

with a good team any map is easily beaten, that being said its lack of an actual power position (as I have stated before) makes it require a very liberal approach with fortifications, however its still beautiful, so I suspect it’ll always be pretty popular horde wise.

I haven’t even gotten to play on it yet.

Is it Ranked only at the moment?

Played it once. it’s trash

Hire some new map designers TC, who ever you have now is ruining your game.

In the mean time just bring back maps from Gear 1-4

It’s apt better now though

Played this map for the first time in Versus tonight. It’s horrible, It would easily make it into my Top 5 Worst GOW Maps list. Far too open.

The first time I played Pahanu I was ensconced on the cliff (high ground) and drew a swarmak on the 10th wave. It spawned from the other and tried to reach my area but got stuck in a tree halfway down the map. It was still able to shoot, but as long as I didn’t go around it, it couldn’t move. I got up close and fired away until it popped.

I don’t play it much because I haven’t taken the trouble to unlock the higher level poisons . Playing a lone 50 wave is challenging. Only once in a while do I see adverts for this and jump in whenever there is space.

Opposite of my experience. Gnasher battles all day.

I like this map, cool environment. Getting to the higher ground definitely gives an advantage. I’ve had a lot of shotgun battles so I don’t feel like it is a Lancer fest, but although the Shotgun is my favorite weapon, I don’t mind using the Lancer sometimes either.
