Yeah I know people were having issues with the connection to the Gears 5 servers and it didn’t bother me as it was a tec test so that’s all cool.
I agree, I feel the matchmaking penalty doesn’t do anything to prevent quitters. A reward for staying sounds good.
I just think it’s really unfair to loose rank when when people on your side quit and you are at a huge disadvantage.

As a solo Gears 4 player I’ve never managed to get past Onxy 2 on KOTH, highest I got was to 92% and then i had a run of 4 games of quitters and the rank dropped back down again.

Game supposed to be balanced, however its not.
Every single game A or B team has advantage.
Of course when players just get slaughtered and have few kills they quit, They dont want to be farmed while other team’s each players have 20-40 kills. Most players who quit in Gears 4 ranked, checked their Gt and just saw that they already playing other game. Actually game wont punish him, only you get punish, since u find yourself in disadvantage.
However TC never fix this. They release esport sh1tz instead balance the game, because u cant buy a new Ferrari from balancing.

Had tons of ranked games in Gears 4, 2 or 3 of us left in the game and enemy players started tbagging. Just somehow developers cant think about how toxic is the game community.

So I would say, give us surrender option. I dont like that either when enemy team’s missing 1-2 players, I dont enjoy that, since i know that situation.

That 2nd highlighted line might make some of you happy. I assume that means they’re willing to atleast consider it for the full release of the game, depending on feedback and results at the end of the Tech Test.

I like it, seems like a no-brainer to me.

I just don’t know if it will just be for first impressions here in the tech test, now that anyone with gold can play it or because it is just the tech test, and then the bot-backfilling will get pulled from the final game. If they are looking at it like a trial to gather feedback, I think they will be overwhelmed with positive response.

We’ll see how it plays out but for now it at least gives us some hope.

I’d love to hear that they’re still improving bot AI for the final game. I still say Overwatch’s simple solution is a good route to go. For now, this is better than nothing I guess.

Honestly it’s just about the fun for me and I don’t think that map is fun. Plus that was this weekend and on Friday we had a loss in the family (don’t want to get too personal here) so I was really just looking for a chance to de-stress and I’m stuck on that stupid map getting my sack-skin stretched over my eyeballs…just makes for a bad time.

All I want is to be able to surrender when there is a quitter. And to delete Raven Down (and Blood Drive and Security while we are at it) from gow servers. They were great maps way back when but luck donkey butts now, let’s move on people!

Yes! I’d hope they’d already thought of this for the full release. Totally makes sense. Love the idea of only the quitter getting a loss. It’s unfair to your record in such circumstances!

Maybe, to punish further, after quitting more than once in a day, you start to lose a rank every time you quit after that. Do it 5 times a day, the 6th will take 2 ranks off you, and so on and so on…

The map has always been a favorite of mine even in KotH. It’s a cluster for sure but I love it lol

I actually don’t completely hate it for TDM or any elimination mode. But for objectives it’s just too small, too cluttered, and too much corner camping. KoTH especially there’s just always somebody spawning on top of you or behind you and you can’t get any rhythm or momentum. I get why players like action, but for me personally this is beyond action and is just chaos, which I don’t find fun.

To each their own though. People can like whatever maps they like, it’s all subjective. All of you are entitled to your completely incorrect opinions about it though hahaha

Thanks. I still enjoy the game but there are definitely frustrating things about it. The game itself is, in my opinion, as good a gears game they’ve ever made in terms of look, feel, playability, etc. I didn’t like everything, but it was damn good. Wouldn’t be the forums though if I didn’t focus on the negative!

Yes! There should be a vote to surrender system. Even with a full team. Sometimes you just get worked and would rather start a new natch then finish an unwinnable one. Smite has a great surrender system

Smite is a surrender system I frequently cite as being good. Rocket League I think is better though because you can quit after a teammate has quit. I’ve learned in this thread that GoW 4 has this too, apparently. Haven’t had a chance to do it since it was pointed out to me.
