Am I the only one that wishes that TC would have added an interesting game mode like Overrun?
Tbh, this might be the only game I’ve played where the campaign is played very differently to its pvp modes and I kinda wish we could have a mode that would combine those pvp and pve factors in it.
I’m not referring to stacks. I’m referring to solo performance/skill v team skill. 4v4 allows a better balance of solo skill to shine, such as more true 1v1 or 1v2 fights with out ALWAYS getting crossed out,…that’s one example. Set ups in koth will be more crucial as well. Getting lancered from all angles is what makes koth so un enjoyable at times.
Overall 4v4 is just a more skillful experience while also being more fun. Win/win imo.
And the rifle nerf make sense to balance with the slower movement. The lancer was 12 bullet down, now its 13-14…not that big of a difference tbh.
I guess we’ll have to see how it plays out. The only problem though, is that the dev playlist won’t tell us how it’s going to be, because people don’t sweat their ■■■ off there, they do that on ranked.
On the other hand, one could argue that with the rifle nerfs, the crossing won’t be as bad with 5v5 games now.
No competitive modes in ranked is a fkin joke! Gridiron was the only good ranked mode left. Now you play koth with friends or nothing. This was a chance to make gears good but instead the ranked modes are the worst out of any operation.
Yeah I mean sometimes its hard to find a 5th but I solo alot so it doesn’t bother me as much.

Was excited for Op 5 until I saw the ranked playlist. The roster of game modes is absolutely pathetic. I’ve supported this game for over a year now and it just continues to disappoint. I’ll probably play op 5 still but a lot of veteran gears players will not come near this game.
-TDM where you can’t queue with a team - Why? It’s called TEAM DEATHMATCH.
-KOTH Now reduced to 4 players - Maybe this will be okay but again why?
-2v2 gnashers - Boring
-FFA - Boring
Where is guardian, execution, wingman, dodgeball, capture the leader, submission, annex. Even gridiron is gone now. (No one cares about quickplay)
PvP is going to die with this operation if ranked has no good game modes to offer.
It’s been 5v5 for 10 years.
We’ll see this 4v4 but people are just going to cross if they wanna cross.

Nothing wrong with crossing. I love good setups and strats, but it’s gotten to the point where its overbearing and just not as fun. Gears of war fights should be more personal, close quarters, with support fire.
From my experience with 4v4 it’s just an overall more fun game.
Why are you guys constantly trying and succeeding in making this game even slower

Well Done to TC imo I love the sound of these changes get the impression it’s going back to the old school gears of some sort with the weighted feel to movement & the rifles being nerfed it’s definitely the right move so many times in ranked matches are a complete lancer camp fest which is boring also I dig the 4v4 KOTH 5v5 at times can be complete chaos really looking forward to next week we’ll done to the team
Lancer is already weak for me, didn’t liked to know they will nerf again.
Yeah, rifles were all nerfed but that was just to balance with the slower movement being implemented.
The goal should be balancing fun with skillful play. I feel like all these changes, on paper, achieve the perfect balance of this, while returning to true gears of war gameplay. I’m excited to play it and give feedback
yeah i just wish they gave us control over the game, like a 1.25x speed modifier in customs.

Its not about that, but the fact that they keep changing every damn mechanic every damn season and they keep coming with BS ideas and nerfs no one ever asked for, I swear to god they dont play their own game, because none of their biggest changes have worked as intented or no one liked them…
Their new ranking system caused cancerous plays because they focused everything on winning instead of individual performance. What was their response? “Oh lets prevent them from playing in squads and make it 4v4 because we think this is the best idea to have fun!”
Their developer playlist its not for feeback, its literally just to prepare us to make another change no one asked for. They modified the movement speed, we told them we didnt like it, and still implemented it. There were dozens of threads complaining and begging to revert TDM after the 2 players squad and 4v4 change, but they kept it. We told them we didnt want 4v4 KOTH and still did. All because of “all positive feedback!” They pull of their ■■■ every damn time.
And now all these weapons nerfs? when no one told them to change them? Im sorry but its a bad joke at this point. They are the reason people stop playing, and now its clear they want to kill their own game.
