As do I man as do I

Not me. I would rather finish the downed player with a larger mag than have to swap to snub and hope they didn’t crawl into cover during my swap.

I haven’t seen anyone pick up the Markza since it was initially nerfed, I don’t think these changes will help much.

Keep 3 shots for the dropshot…

Sounds like a personal problem lol.

In all seriousness if you are hitting your shots you shouldnt need 10 extra bullets. You only need 9 to 12 hits depending on where you hit your opponent. A 30 round magazine is enough

Markza even weaker o_O

Larger lancer clips with a reduced active reload cooldown should be funnnn. Guess it doesn’t matter because the map will be permanently covered with smoke now.

Lancer magazine increase, Snub RoF increase, Gnasher poke damage decreased while the capacity still remains at 6. Like what?

While I do agree the Gnasher’s poke DMG was a little too much, the other two changes (especially the Lancer buff) was unnecessary. Trying to navigate around maps like Training Grounds, Bunker, and Icebound was already tough enough, now it’s going to be even more difficult. Like the reasoning behind nerfing the Gnasher from 8 shots to 6 was to reward accuracy and stop shot spamming, yet you gave the Lancer, which already is powerful enough, a 10 shot buff. Like, have you guys at TC even played against a stack on any of the maps that I mentioned? The lancer setups are unbearable.

■■■■■■■ Christ man.

Am I wrong or this is similar to the 11 February gnasher?

As opposed to anything else on this forum? They are all personal complaints based on subjective experiences. Nobody on this forum has gathered data and done a statistical study so please:

Based on the Twitter and the few forum posts I’ve seen there are a lot of people worried about the Lancer magazine size increase.

Not wrong. Now we’re looking at the potential of downing four players instead of three in one mag. Playing against an unorganized team this won’t be an issue. The problem will present itself with the coordinated stacks that were already running the gauntlet with the Lancer.

I don’t know how TC is play-testing these features, but I’m curious. I’ve seen them play in streams and for years and never have seen a really skilled player. If they are testing it themselves it will always be wrong and balanced towards those unorganized chaos matches.

Increasing Lancer capacity to 40 rounds is punishment for us fighting to be given full ammo capacity upon reloading the gnasher.

The lancer damage needs to be nerfed. The lancer in its current state when active reloaded is a power weapon. You can down people virtually instantly and almost any range.

Or… if you are going to keep the damage the same reduce the ammo capacity to 20.

And don’t forget you can now active the Lancer every 12 seconds instead of 20… Your magazine will probably last throughout that amount of time. lol.

I didnt even think about that lmaoo. thanks for making me cry even harder at that realization

Does this mean blindfiring has been nerfed?

Lancer should have traditional active rules because people just camp wait for actives then start lancering

Honestly brotha. Ranked and competitive play should have no active reload properties. Actives for weapons should just allow you to reload fast. no damage boost or additional perks. That system has been abused in every gears and never has been addressed properly

Overall, this looks like is a very solid patch.

The poke damage on the gnasher being dialed back to 150 is the expected middle ground. I think 125 (or 100 revert) would be an even better compromise but it’s an improvement nonetheless.

Lancer change is also fine. I feel like this change is more about those moments where you don’t have enough in the clip to finish a kill on a downed enemy. The amount isn’t really significant enough to make crossing any worse than it already is,

Looks like the Markza got nerfed but it actually didn’t. The rate of fire increase on the weapon means it does more DPS than before. There’s just less ammo so it promotes being more accurate (the improved zoomed supports this idea), solid change on paper.

I feel like the snub change is more about the consistency of the weapons role rather than buffing/nerfing it. As it stands now, the difference between an active and a non-active one are worlds apart. A non-active snub is pretty much only good for finishing chip damage. An active snub is an absolute demon; a laser, a true counter to the lancer and gnasher.

The non-active rate of fire increase makes it so that its weapon countering capability is more consistent (RPS w/ loadout, flinching/meaningful chip against power weapons) but presumably not as powerful as it was as an active. They also put more falloff on the weapon so it’s not outperforming precision weapons in their role like Markza, Snipe etc. 10% damage increase on the active and the fall off work hand-in-hand in that regard.

I think it’s overall become better as a utility option but it’s less effect has cheap weapon for a ‘free’ kill when it’s active

Boltok changes are alright too, I honestly didn’t know the close range 1 shot headshot was a thing. I’ve sure done it to players a few times but I always assumed they had prior damage on them before hand. Probably would’ve abused it a lot more if I’d known tbh, but I digress.

Dropshot changes are good too. The weapon does take a slightly higher degree of precision than boom but it is overall a much better weapon so 2 rounds is fine IMO.

I don’t know what’s funnier, Donald trumps speech’s or gears updates. Why in the world would we increase more ammo and give more power to long range weapons? Makes no sense for anyone to push now. That’s just what we need, more lancer rounds and faster pistol shots to keep the enemy at bay instead of running in to bang out. I guess we are playing Pub G and Halo now. I must say CTF was the exact mode we were all waiting for right? What in gods name? Why wouldn’t you bring back wingman? Or a new mode we’d all actually want like 3 teams of 3. Bring four new maps not one old map one new and the new one looks like bullet marsh. Keep updating horde and escape while adding achievements that’s just what all the competitive players want. This shows once again the coalition and all of the developers involved don’t care for our opinions or interests. They just keep teasing us and letting us down time after time. Operation 3 is by far the worst drop yet, Gears 5 has been a disappointment from beginning to end. Never expected to feel this way about the game I’ve cherished since 2006 but god are you guys ruining it with every single fake update that’s not an update it’s a setback. Listen to the people and stop whatever the heck it is you think you’re doing for the community.
