Operation 3 movement - Feedback thread

As someone who had just returned to Gears 5 and was starting to enjoy the game somewhat, I feel like OP3 has brought very negative things to the gameplay.

Yes, we wanted not to be shooting out of a cannon when getting out of cover but right now it feels like it SLOWS you down. It’s like you hit a backwards arrow in one of those racing games that just stumps you. Feels like you hit quick sand after turning every corner.

It definitely doesn’t feel like OP2 just minus the speed boost. No, no way.

Add the ever changing gnasher damage and gib range and more actives that will specially be felt with the lancer buffs and you get a mess.

This is like having a high tier AR in fortnite and rifling people in the open without them building.

What is this mess? I’m not playing till this gets sorted out.

There is no dynamic once again.

Just pick up the controller and be good.

There should be a balance to these things but never a nerf on the skill ceiling.

What have you done to the movement, why is it so blocky, like you feel like your wallbouncing with weights in your pockets, that rodee run is a joke its so slow feel like im going go backwards if it goes any slower, is this another attempt at making it easier for new players making harder to wall bounce for the best players, before that update i can say this game has been amazing for me but that movent is going ruin the game its so slow

Some of the matches I played earlier last night felt terrible, like I was running in treacle. Some of the later matches felt normal. Not sure what is going on, if they are making adjustments on the back end or what.

Did they adjust controller sensitivity?
i have everything on 30 and most sensitive but i feel like a sluggg…

Okay, and whether a player may or may not like it, why wasn’t this in the notes? This isn’t just the speed boost change!

As someone who actively plays a lot more gow4 than gears 5, im honestky so confused why people think EVEN faster movement than gow4 is better??? Gow4 mp combat and movement was spot on its a disgrace that fans fail to realize that. And now we have this garbage.

The whole game now feels terrible because of two things:

-Gnasher

Pre-Op3 far better.

-Smokes

Terrible.
9 smokes + your own is just not fun at all.
Either reduce time to 3-5s or only let people spawn once per round or make Nades a pickup.

At least with Flash, you could avoid it, team isn’t affected by it and it’s only lasts a short amount of time if accurately thrown or placed.

The movement feels off too.

But the Gnasher needs to be right.

MESSAGE TO T.C.

Please speed up this movement. 95% of the players liked the direction the movement changes were going and wanted it sped up more. It was basically all positive feedback when you did the operation 2 update on movement
So why revert this for a couple of pros tht SURE AS HELL DONT PAY YOUR BILLS like the rest of us.

Why put delays, cooldowns and times in the movement to begin with. Who exaxtly is tht goin to help. Certainly not the causal to above average player.

NOT ONE PERSON WHATS TO DO MATH when they are trying to move around the maps

I mean seriously.
Just remove all these delays and cool downs. It is pointless.
NO ONE WANTS TO GET USED TO THIS.

We ask for 8 clip gnasher since launch. Nope. We get 10 extra clip size for our lancer though. And now its even harder to dodge because we havnt been running long enough to get a boost or we have bounced too many times so now we get stopping power on our character.

THIS GAME IS SLOW AF NOW. IT WAS ALREADY SLOW AF BEFORE THIS UPDATE.

Please speed this game up. It really isnt tht hard to understand

So you think gears 5 movement is faster than gears 4??

T.c. has said multiple times on multiple occasions tht the movement is ALOT SLOWER COMPARED to gears 4. Pretty sure they said its their slowest gears game out of all of them ( gears 5 launch operations 1 tht is) and operation 3 feels slower than than gears 5 launch.

I agree. I am more afraid in CQC situations now because i know i cant move like i want to move. Rolling and slipping into cover if you hold the roll button is gone too. I have to press the buttons a lot more often than what i had to in previous gears games.

Thats so weird cause yes obv gears5 launch was very slow, i actually did the beta test and it was slow like gears1 which felt TOO slow. But the movement as of right now is definitely not like launch its way faster. Lmao

Played 5 for the first time in a bit last night. I was shocked how much slower the movement felt again. Feels heavy and lethargic. Going back to 4 felt great. Crisp and fast. What a bummer they slowed it down again.

Oh my god, just pick a style and stick with it…

We were already about Gears 4 levels of movement with the ranged weapons strong enough to be viable in such an environment…
But now we’re back to Gears 1 movement?
With all these super strong weapons?
Should I just go back and play Gears UE on Insane? It’s basically the same experience.

It’s actually a little faster. The over all movement went to speed boost around a corner speed. So there is no more speed boost. You are already faster.

I don’t care what it says on the notes, actually play the game and feel the movement off your character and try to wallbounce and outplay people its a lot slower if you can’t tell that then you clearly never played in a fast pace before the update

Cause you’re not a competitive player, you play to play.

The poke damage reduction to the Gnasher was much needed. The 200 setting was way too much so I’m glad it’s back to 150. The gib range still feels like an inconsistent mess and should be addressed.

Smokes are annoying but so were flashbangs. But you’re right – I could easily avoid flashbangs. My annoyance was that my game would tell me the enemy was flashed but they’d still be able to shoot despite their hand being raised signaling a stun. I don’t want to see flashbangs return but I do believe a reduction in smoke duration is overdue.

The movement feels slow and not something I enjoy as much. I’m into faster paced matches and slowing it down removes quite a bit of the skill gap. I know @TSU_Silent is enjoying the movement as of now, which, given his fast movement style, shocks me to no end, lol.

So…does anyone have any proof that movement has been decreased other than the boost off cover?

I mean what movement speed are we talking about here? Normal walking speed? Roadie run?
