OP 6 Ideas/Predictions

What about predictions for mid Op 5? Since this operation was about maps , will we see at least 1 new map before Op 6?
I was over the moon when TC added River in op5, hope they add other fan favourite Jacinto also soon

Some spanish channel showed alot! :+1:t2:

All game modes down to 3V3

I really hope Valera gets added as I loved her in 3, I hope Jace joins as well and you could even make them have some commentary together.

Same goes for Tai and Minh. :man_shrugging:
Unfortunately I believe that’s probably wishful thinking.

@Bakspatel

So is Sofia and I’d much rather she come back, but I’m biased toward Judgement since that’s when most of my friends started to get into Gears.

Hopefully, but you know… I’m sure he had a fair bit of support though so I’m not holding my breath. I’m not saying Barrick needs to have the cigar but I dunno… Zeta squad (save for Tai and Minh) haven’t been in more than one game. If they were going to added they should’ve been by now (not necessarily in 5 but for GoW4 when that was the newest).

I’m all over the place here, sorry. Anyway, though it isn’t likely I hope everyone gets the characters they want. I really want Brand :stuck_out_tongue: so I won’t pretend that I don’t hold out hope for this game.

I read your entire post and perhaps you are right about a few things. This is exactly why I’m not getting my hopes up at all but i quoted this directly just to touch on it a bit.

The booshka wouldn’t be unique at all because like the Boomshot, Dropshot and Salvo , it’s a launcher type weapon and we already have enough of those.
ESPECIALLY with the Assault Riffle/Grenade Launcher hybrid in the Lancer GL. We even have 5 current assault riffles, 3 pistols, and 2 snipers.

And as for stim, it’s already a weapon in horde/campaign/escape.

I’m aware but do you really expect TC to put a newly released Queen Reyna in Gears 5 multiplayer? At this point she might as well be added on the Cog one last time. It’s unfair for her and oscar to not be multiplayer characters while JD, Del, Kait and even the freaking shepherd are made playable. They even threw in Gary who has 0 story significance.

Link me a clip of when this happens. Oh and let’s just ignore their in game statuses created by EPIC explaining they don’t have any sort of loyalty towards the queen at all lol That is why they’re called “SAVAGE Locusts”…

The entire Deadlands chapter of Gears 3 where we find the Queen organized among Savage Locust…?

And most sources you find will note the Savages as unable to locate or regroup with the Queen, like their connection is weak, rather than being a seperate being that operates outside of the Queen’s will. Once close enough to be in her influence, the Horde will continue to do her bidding, even if left Stranded and Savage after the flood.

We see this with the Savage/Sentinel Therons in Halvo Bay, that seem to be Savage and also apart of the Queen’s weakening army as they might’ve rejoined with them.

I found Sofia to be a bland character, she didn’t interest me at all. But I have to say that Judgment has been growing on me, mainly due to Paduk’s addition. I definitely wouldn’t mind her being included in the game.

From what I’ve so far been seeing in my very extensive and very scientifically reliable research in fanbase demands on the forums (/sarcasm), there seems to be significant more support for Barrick than for example Jace. So I think there would be more pressure on TC to include Barrick than Jace.
In game, Barrick is the only character shown to smoke. I can imagine it being a bit awkward for TC if they include him after publicly announcing they wouldn’t add smoking characters in Gears 5 (kind of cheap marketing since smoking has never really been a thing in the Gears games), but there should be creative ways around it. Their way of thinking might be that including him without a sigar might outrage his fans, so the easiest way is to just not add him to the game(I hope this wouldn’t be used as an excuse for not including Valera, as it would increase the demand to include Barrick as well). If it’s true then that would be a wrong way of thinking, I believe.
It’s a bit nonsensical anyway. I’m anti-smoking, but it’s not as if I’d be offended by the inclusion of Barrick in the game, or that I would think less or get angry at TC because of it. TC has been actively promoting alcoholism (it’s basically Oscar’s character definition), which really isn’t a funny addiction and kills a lot of people annually as well. If they wanted to do that right, they should have added Oscar’s alcoholism with the problems you get yourself into with, not as a joke. He actually had some character development potential in Gears 5, like possibly showing more leadership qualities and a struggle to fighting his addiction but his sole purpose in the game was to have him killed by Kait to increase her trauma. An opportunity wasted.

You are right that probably not everybody will get the characters he or she prefers. Still, I am hopeful because they’ve already added characters such as Karn and Jermad, with the latter having its first introduction in the Gears games. Gears 5 should still have quite some runtime left, the game isn’t even past the 1.5 years mark yet. There’s plenty of time for new character inclusions. If they want to keep up adding new characters with every OP, they would need to have a significant list of characters to introduce. The Swarm is probably going to be the most interesting, because we’ve almost got all basic in game characters already. It would be cool if we get to see some extra non-game lore inclusions.

I’ve never played Judgment online, so I’ve never got to play with Brand. But I know her backstory and seen some footage of her on YouTube, so she does look like she would be a great addition to the game. I believe about a year ago, someone from TC responded to a tweet that she would be included, just not in the short time. And wasn’t she included in Gears Pop! that should make it more likely for her as well then, right?

You are absolutely right that there’s already a significant amount of grenade/missile style weapons in the game, that does work against the Booshka. The difference between the Booshka and the others is gameplay wise: in close encounters, you can use the Booshka to blast enemies around corners. You would force the opponent to charge you, rather than you being forced to charge him or her. So this would be an interesting addition to the game.
With the stim grenade I mean it as having an object that actually creates stim. Being so important in Gears 5, I think it is a possibility. Think for example of the Combat Medic having stim grenades and/or a specific Swarm character using them. Having Swarm reviving one another at a distance, rather having to run towards them creates different game play. Perhaps kinda like how the Kantus were.

Thanks for the video man. You were right i guess i was wrong after all. Respect!

Alright i mean both seem like interesting ideas but idk about the stim still…they’ll have to fix the sponging of some character models and people with higher ping advantage and the overall GNASHER (which may just be impossible) otherwise that’ll be hella OP people would be nigh invincible sponges!

I don’t see how TC has a rule for not voicing more than 1 character. I mean Fred Tatasciore voices Baird, Tai and the DeeBees and it would be a good idea to kill 2 birds with one stone by having Bruce Thomas do both Sid and Loomis’s lines in the same recording session so they don’t have to do it later

Either make it exclusive to PvE like the Brawler’s punch or make it pickup only (with only 1 rather than 2) so it’s less spam-able than in Judgement.
Lore-wise, the Booshka wouldn’t make any sense to add because Imulsion… (like anyone cares, right?). My buddy had the idea to repurpose it as a sort of flashbang launcher by fueling the grenades with the phosphorus from campaign.
I’ll shamelessly plug myself here: Do you want to see old weapons return to multiplayer?

I’m a PvE scrub so that’s where a lot of my desire for weapon additions stems from. I’d really hoped that with the addition of the Scorcher in OP5 it meant we’d get a Swarm Flamer in Hivebusters since it was confirmed that they were adding a boss already. I’d prefer Elite Grenadiers used a Swarm-engineered sawed-off instead of just an Overkill like DR-1s and actual frag genades. Hunters should use Breechshots (not Markzas) and Boltoks for some change up. (I know the Breechshot fills no new niche but I miss it, man… Make it weaker than the Longshot and EMBAR but stronger than the Markza and Boltok while keeping it at one shot headshot, if such a thing is possible).

That’s a good point, he does the Scions as well. I figured it’d be weird if Baird didn’t provide the voice lines for his robots, I didn’t know about Tai though.
The only difference I see is that Tai has been a recurring fan favorite and Loomis was… not that. I wouldn’t be opposed to him being brought back though.

Oscar and Reyna will come eventually, they’re TC bred characters lol I can see what you’re saying that it’s been quite awhile, but one could say it shouldn’t have taken over a year for Anya and Skorge either… they finally came first, because understandably, there’s a higher demand for OGs like that.

I suppose, it just makes more sense to me to bring in game-relevant characters first.
It’s reassuring that someone thinks they’ll still get in though.

not sure why people are asking for Wingman. we all know what’s going to happen, it will be popular for month, die off and stripped out of Ranked.

That depends on whether or not TC can get the versus tuning to a place where it doesn’t need to be “fixed” every update (that’d likely mean no weapon additions like we got with the Scorcher, though). That and they don’t need to make it ranked or at least that’s how I see it.

Both are in the Gears 5 campaign… me personally idc one way or another I got who I care about… but confused how people from the actual campaign aren’t game relevant lol

No no, that’s what I was saying… I think Reyna and Oscar should’ve been in by now because they are game-relevant in that they’re part of the rebooted series’ campaign while the aforementioned Skorge and Anya are dead and mentioned in passing.

Ah, I didn’t actually know the explosives were based on Imulsion. Thanks for telling that.
