Since the Lambent will be this season’s mid season drop, I honestly feel like this’ll be what we get Next OP! Or at least an Idea of it. Now personally I believe I’m getting my hopes up…actually scratch that, ■■■■ it! I KNOW I AM THIS IS TC WE’RE TALKING ABOUT. Anyways since OP 5 was Gears 2 themed then I believe OP 6 will be Gears 3! Here are some of my Ideas/Predictions

Characters:
Cog:
-Hoffman
-Bernie
-Jace Stratton
-Oscar Diaz
-Reyna Diaz

Swarm:
-Savage Drone
-Savage Grenadier (Savage Grenadier Elite being a Skin)
-Savage Kantus
**NOTE:**Now I know what you all are thinking “WhY cANT tHe sAvAGe LOcusTs jusT b3 sKINs?”

  1. Because like the Lambent the Savage Locusts are a different faction of Locusts, they are FERAL meaning they have absolutely 0% obligation to obey the queen. For Lore reasons this fits! It’ll be stupid to have ANY Savage Locusf of any sort utter”For the queen” in ANY given circumstance.
    2.The Swarm roster doesn’t really have much to work with.
    Mid season Drop:
    -Hana Cole
    -Tak
    -Locust Rager (PLEASE TC SERIOUSLY)

And all throughout the store and Tour of Duty Classic V-Day Skins for Iconic Gears 3 Characters

The return of Wingman and 4 maps
-Sanctum (Based off Hivebusters DLC)
-Weilehi (Based off Hivebusters DLC)
-Azura (Considering it’s where you start off in Gears 5+ being a fan favorite Map+Fitting the tropical island theme=A crime it wasn’t already in the game in the first place but even more so a crime if you fail to release it in this SPECIFIC OP)
-A port my guess is Relic lol…I personally dislike this lame ■■■ full squad lancer fest of a map but i remember SPECIFICALLY back in OP2 where before I updated the game, I tried to join a match and this garbage excuse of a map was a placeholder. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we got it back, disappointed but knowing TC’s track record, disappointed may be an understatement…

Wingman
I mean at this point we have a crazy number of Factions! We have:

  1. Outsiders
  2. Cog
  3. Locust
  4. Lambent
  5. UIR
  6. Savage Locust
  7. Swarm
  8. DB’s
  9. And If they Surprise us with Griffin, A STRANDED!!!
    So I don’t see how this couldn’t work bruh…

WEAPON DLC
The Sawed-off Shotgun! It could help lesser skilled players deal with and counter the Gnasher and bring back a classic old Gears 3 feel! I mean for crying out loud, we already have the Retro.
Just balance it and I’m sure it’ll be a hit!

And also NERF THE ■■■■■■■ OVERKILL

My 1 and only problem is an Idea of what this OP should be called. But it should definitely be Gears 3 related!

There’s some of my Ideas/Predictions I have for the next OP! Honestly this all sounds beautiful but knowing TC I just couldn’t be bothered with having high expectations anymore. Reading this gets me more hype than any of their announcements. Anyways let me know y’all’s opinions

Two things, I feel like these two would’ve been added long ago if they were intended to be added (although maybe the pandemic screwed up some plans) and they aren’t Gears 3 themed but that’s more of a minor thing.
And Jace won’t be added because they’d have to change his VA and apparently that’s heresy in Gears multiplayer. Griffin is much more likely.

Some skins have their own unique voices lines that differentiate themselves despite being on the same character: Batista is a bit of an exception I’m sure, but there’s also the DBs. DR-1 and Shepherd have different voices (and lines I think). I was of the opinion that Grenadiers (locust, swarm, lambent) should all be under the same character and so on Sniper and whatever else, but I guess I see why they weren’t.

I can see Hana being added for sure but probably not Tak, he was way too minor and didn’t have an in-game model that I know of. As for the Rager… if they’re going to add him I need the Breechshot as well, so if you propose Sawed-Off be added (and assuming they’d only add one weapon at a time) I see that as unlikely. Plus, I’d rather see a Judgement themed OP add him.

Since OP 5 was Gears 2 inspired i would hope that OP 6 would be about Gears 3.

For Cog characters you could have Prescott, Hoffman, Bernie, Jace, Onyx guard skin (Gears 3), Adam Fenix and Griffin

For Swarm you could have the savage variants and the metal Kantus. I can’t really remember what other characters are even left to include.

For the maps Azura and Thrashball Stadium since a lot of the other gears 3 maps have already been used a lot.

They could bring back classic weapons as well since they did it with the Scorcher in OP5. You’ve got the One shot, Digger, Boom shield, Sawed off shotgun and the Hammer of Dawn to choose from.

I doubt any of those ideas will happen but one can hope for the future. :crossed_fingers:

Oh they’re DEFINENTELY intended
But yeah, I’m aware they aren’t Gears 3 themed but neither were the Fully EVOLVED Lambent Drone, Grenadier and Theron in Operations 5. the only Lambent out of these 3 to exist is the Fully evolved Lambent Drone (who didn’t even appear in Gears 2) and him alone.
Only the non-fully evolved Grenadier and Grenadier Elite made an appearance in Gears 2. If TC can allow this exception then I don’t see why they wouldn’t allow 2 outsiders who are technically stranded which fits gears 3.

Besides Gabe Diaz even appeared and he has 0% to do with OP 5. It would be dumb to have Gabe and his
daughter but not his wife and Brother. Also BOTH are the FINAL characters from the campaign who aren’t in the game…

Also what’s this weird rumor going around about Jace’s Voice actor? How do you all know he wouldn’t be down to reprise his role? Even if he isn’t you all forget Jace had another voice actor who played young jace so he could just be a replacement. Not like anyone cares that much to remember Jace’s voice anyways seeing as how I’m quite possibly the only one that wants him back.

It’s not a question of motivation but price people bring up.

And how many actually know Jace was one of the Gears only ever heard over radio once or twice during the entire Gears 2 Campaign? I didn’t even know that until years later.

We’ll just have to see man. I kinda doubt he’ll be returning sadly as there is no fan demand for him.

But yeah I recently started replaying the campaigns of every gears game on Hardcore and even there in Gears 2 Jace had a different voice actor so he can be used in case Michael B. Isn’t down to reprise. But yeah when Jace spoke to Marcus it caught me off guard because I had forgotten about it haha.

Quite a wish list you have. I wouldn’t count on Wingman, it has been demanded for quite some time but there are no signals that we’ll get to see it anytime soon.

I don’t see it happening that we’ll get two new maps based on the DLC, it’ll be more likely two completely different map types. Since there’s Pahanu and I presume Reactor is based on Sanctum we might get one of the DLC but likelier two linked to something else. Perhaps something creative, like the lab at Mount Kadar. Also don’t exclude the possibility of a map based on one of the older Gears, such as we’ve seen with Nexus. If the theme is Gears 3, it could be something related to it.

And I think we’ve been lucky with one weapon’s reintroduction, we probably won’t see more. And if we see more it’s not going to be the Sawed-off: we already have two shotgun types. It would be something different that could fill a niche or is truly unique. Think about for example the Booshka or the Stim grenade.

Gabe’s introduction into Gears 5 was for marketing, to get people to play Tactics. That is the reason why he is in the game (thankfully, because he’s a great character to play). I do agree with that Reyna and Oscar should have already been in the game, because they’re TC characters directly related to the current saga. Personally I prefer Oscar to be added as late as possible, he’s the only Gears character that I hate. his lines are stupid, his voice is stupid, he is absolutely not funny, irritating and the luchador skins were traumatic. In Gears 4 at the start of a game of Horde I used to ask people why they chose to play as Diaper Man. Considering the addition of confetti wrestlers in Gears 5 I am dreadful for the return of luchador.

Also, sad to hear about the disagreement with Michael B. TC’s in luck because I don’t believe there are actually any fans of Jace out there so there’s no pressure on them to along with Michael B., but it would be nice if he does eventually make it into the game.

If you would scratch Jace, Oscar and Reyna from that list you can still add Prescott, Michael Barrick and Alicia Valera. For the Swarm, the Savage ones fit perfectly (don’t forget the Savage Theron Guard). Despite your argument I doubt they’ll include them as separate characters, they’re not that unique compared to their Locust equivalents as for example the Lambent ones.

I’m already curious if in the future there could also be a Judgment themed OP. There are still a couple of characters and skins left to be included.

Its description states it is a Pendulum Wars era (experimental) reactor. So unlikely to be tied to a Locust War bunker (that was also never fully completed in the sense that it didn’t have the proper backing it needed to function and the environment also posed issues).

If they bring a map based on Sanctum I hope it is set in one of the floors that either has issues due to the volcanic environment or construction related issues. I thought it was meh that we didn’t even get to go that far down into it to begin with to explore and/or play with/work around the environmental hazards there.

Oh I want Jace back, it’s just that he hasn’t come back yet and there supposedly a thing with multiplayer characters having VA changes meaning they don’t return for future games because… I don’t ■■■■■■■ know they’re fine with rerecording lines because they did an entire campaign’s worth over for a character.

Also Reyna wasn’t in 5’s campaign as a COG unit like you specified nor was she even in-game save for the out of place “choice”. But again, minor nitpick. It doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be added, I very much want her as well.

I see Gabe as more of an incentive to play another TC game that recently came to console rather than an actual OP5 character as you can’t get him otherwise.

I’d scratch Valera off too; since she only appears in RAAM’s Shadow, is voiced by Laura Bailey (Kait) and the only reason anyone liked her in the first place because she was a Latin woman with tight-■■■ pants. With how PC or woke (for lack of a better term) TC is making their games I see that as an insufficient reason for them to add her.

And as much as I’d like to Barrick return as well, there’s an odd anti-smoking thing regarding TC and Gears or something. Until they explicitly express otherwise I rest my case.

I love some of your ideas regarding characters. I would love to see Jace, Hoffman etc. Some other things I would like to see from them is escape rewards as well as a new horde/escape class to play and overall balancing. Yeah seeing Jace or Hoffman would be dope!

I would also love to see Valera as I loved her in Gears 3 so hopefully we get her too! Also another thing that would be dope would be to add new fortifications to horde, that would be nice too.

Well considering I nailed my prediction for op5 theres two possible themes for op6

Operation 6:judgment
-Ezra loomis, Sofia Hendricks, Alex brand, locust rager, Reyna Diaz, Oscar Diaz
Skins: kilo squad Cole, classic onyx guard

Mode:overrun? Possibly no new mode

Or like you said a gears 3 themed operation, which is more likely.
