Old Gears 5 Ideas

Ok. So this post is practically a copy/paste of one of my really old posts from the old forums. So if you herald from the old-school forums, you may have read it. Just re-posting to share these ideas because I’m proud of them. And talk about Gears 5 is a lot higher now then it was 7 Months ago.

And for simple-sakes. This post is just a list of all my ideas I threw at the old forums for Maps/AI Enemies/Weapons/etc. I know that they won’t end up in Gears 5, it’s too far in development, but I still like to geek out over my own creations, and share them with this toxic community.

DB Enemies

-DB Fox: Renamed, but in my old post this DB was basically like an assassin shepherd, so a shepherd with a more powerful lancer and a cloaking ability. The kind of enemy that would attack in groups of 3-4, and only reveal themselves when they get in close,or when a player spots their glimmering cloak.

-DB Popper: This is basically a bigger Tracker, but instead of suicide, it would plant itself in the ground, launching Shock Grenades from afar, then blowing up when you destroy it.

-DB Troybot: A smaller, more DB-looking version of the Jackbot. that hunts players, alerts other DB’s to their presence, and uses a taser to stun players. (Could just make this a Watcher with a taser, but I like the Jackbot better)

-DB Eagle: Another mini-boss like Guardians, but it’s a small VTOL jet, that flies around quickly, making bombing runs of either shock or frag grenades, then uses an Embar-like turret on it’s underside when it goes VTOL. (Original concept changed)

-DR-2 Avenger: (Brand-New) A special DR-1 unit, who has two guns installed into his arms. A repair tool on one to heal DB (Ground, excluding Trackers, Poppers) units, and a flamethrower on the other to damage players. Weaker than normal DR-1’s, but when they die they’d explode in passionate glory, about 3x the size of a normal DR-1 explosion.

-DR-2 Obliterator: Now this is pure fiction…but hear me out. This DB would be a boss, like Snatcher, Kestel, etc. But it’d be a DR-1 on mega-steroids. It’d have a Tri-Shot built into one arm, and an Embar-like rifle in the other, with a grenade launcher on it’s back (Think FO4 Sentry Bot) Like the Brumak, you could damage it’s weapons to stop it’s damage. And on it’s back it’d have a weak spot, protected by a temporary Guardian Shield. Yes? Am I the only one that’d love to fight this thing?

DB Weapons

-Lancer MKIII: Okay, so I know now that we’re getting some new Lancer variant with a grenade launcher, but I’m still gonna throw this in. It’s be faster than the MKII, and do less damage. But it’d have stun rounds, and an electrified chainsaw, so if you melee (Not rev) with it, you’d stun an opponet for longer, plus bonus damage to DB units. It’d be a Power Weapon, and used by the DB Fox.

-Volt: Think, Embar meet Markza. The Volt would only have two shots per mag. It could be fired instantly for (Like Longshot) 50% Hp. And could be charged for a bonus damage booster. Obviously a power weapon, and used by the DB Fox as well. And when Active Reloaded, a charged shot could 1-shot an enemy, and stun others nearby said enemy.

-Guard-Shield:(Brand New) Remember the Boomshield? Same idea. Except the Guard-Shield would take up one of your weapon slots. When equipped, it’d bring up a Guardian Shield in front of your player, with the option to fire your Sidearm/Grenades behind it.

Swarm Enemies

-Feral Drone: (Brand New) Keeping the loincloth style, a Feral Drone wouldn’t use guns. Just crude weaponry, like cleavers, Boomshields, and that new melee weapon we saw. They could hunt down players, and have control over Swarm like Pouncers.

-Scorched Swarm: Swarm wearing parts of old Flamer armor. They’d wield a flamethrower and use Incid grenades.

-Sparrow: A flying swarm. They’d scount in packs of 2-3, landing on a player, dealing damage. If not that, they could spit poison or screech at the player, stunning them.

-Swarmer: (Had to do it) A tough Scion-class, that doesn’t make enemies stronger, but summons a horde of Juvies to encumber and Swarm the player, wielding only their fists and a Boltok.

Swarm Weapons

-Flame-Shot: (Brand New) A Two-barreled shotgun, that deals fire damage to an AOE.

-Feral Sawed-Off: The Elite Sawed-Off from Raam’s Shadow…but more Swarm-looking.

-Spore-Shot: (Brand New) A strange UIR grenade-launcher changed horrid. The gun lauches small pods that eat players from the inside out if it lands directly, if not–spores will cover a small area and deal damage to players that walk on it)

Versus Maps

-Villa: Set in Halvo Bay, Villa would be four buildings, opposite each other with two on either side. The Northern-most buildings would be two-storied, with a Sniper spawn (G2 River inspired) The Southern buildings would be One-Story, with a very small underground corridor connecting the two. In the center of the four buildings would be a crashed APC, with a powerful Power Weapon to grab.

-Flesh: Inside the remnants of the Rift Worm, concrete debris has been turned into a battleground, with a tall pillar in the middle leading to goods, and two very strong “bunkers” on either side of the map. After a certain amount of time, the worm’s stomach will move, with a ball of debris clearing the map and making it brand new. There’s no way to survive this unless you’re in the “Bunkers”. The event can also be triggered by shooting glowing parts at the top of the Worm’s body. (G3 Thrashball sign like.)

-Ritual: Inside the G2 Hollow, a small Kantus church is built next to the lake where that nasty leviathan lives. The “church” is full of small pillars, and at the back of the map is two staircases, These lead to a second story, where players can fight on small bridges, that freely overlook the main hall below. Because of the tides and rampant leviathan, the water levels can rise for a short time to engulf the lower-story. After a small time, it’ll die back down, revealing the lower area again.

-Char: A section of Griffin’s tower. This map would be the size of Boxes…but would be three stories tall. On the North and South ends are staircases. On the East and West are elevators that go from Floor 1 right to 3. But if the elevator is on Floor 1, and the cable is shot out at Level 3, the elevator will fall. Becoming unavailable, and killing all players inside it. Floor two’s floor is partly open, letting players on floor 1 fire at players on floor 2.

New Character Ideas

-Thomas Pat: An old Onyx Guard from Halvo Bay who deserted and resented the COG after he learned of their secrets. He spent most of the Locust War alone, staying away from bigger Locust. he has a scar on his face given to him by Raam, who also destroyed his helmet. In the new age, he lives alongside an old UIR soldier,the two bonding over their hatred for the COG.

-Adrian Smit: A UIR Cadet when the Locust Wars began. Now, he follows a much more experienced COG Onyx Guard. Who may have been his enemy before. But their hatred for the COG and Locust alike made them brothers in arms.

-Micheal Young: A young Outsider leader, who used traditional tribal weaponry, along with a few firearms. Until his village was attacked, and everyone had been kidnapped. He took what men he had left, and followed mysterious beast tracks North, to the spitting cold environment of the New Hope Facility. (Keep in mind I wrote this some 9 months ago…before we found out we’d actually be going to NH in G5. So, prediction? No? ok…)

Now that’s all I got right now. At least all I could remember. if anything else comes to me I’ll dump it here as an edit. I also have a new idea for a gamemode/upgrade system…but my fingers be tired. So I won’t write it now. Maybe another time. If anyone is interested in hearing what that idea is…maybe then I’ll post it. But I’d rather not waste my time if nobody even cares about this stuff…Thoughts? Opinions? Something you’d change? Something you’d add? (Yes I know these won’t happen in G5 it’s too late. Just reposting from old forums to keep sharing these ideas I’m honestly proud of.)
