If we got the chance for store items in the supply drop loot boxes it would not be so bad… I’m gunna miss all these cool things because I can’t afford them.

Why does ever games unlocks need a timer ? This battle pass type drip fed content is getting out of hand. In all games

Rainbow 6
Red Dead Redemption 2
Fortnight
Gears 5
And so on

Everybody hypes up Epic, but they are making these money grabbing tatics common place

For people with 9 to 5 jobs. You don’t have time to grind 1 games worth of battle passes, nevermind every other game releasing to 2019

Ahead of the industry my left flap -_- like come on you guys are just following the same grindy progression of every 60$ or free to play game of 2019. If not worse !

Make micro transactions more reasonable like 5$ for a complete weapon set. Ppl be all over that. Instead you make almost a completeset and take weapons out to sell separate for like 5$? ARE YOU SERIOUS

Don’t take more that 60 mins to make these skins little triangle lumps on weapons and character skins… The money for all gears 5 contant in one week is more than the OG Witcher 3 season passes price. In that you got 3 MASSIVE EXPANSIONS content that rivaled the main game in lengh…

How is It forza horizon 4 has a better reward system and money system than gears 4 and 5 combined ?

I am not even a racing fan. Yet I can come home put that on and progress at my own pace. With content worth more than the games price (if you are into cars)

Why put all this effort into tour when the rewards are TRASHHHHHH Garbage. Stuff already in game!. The battle pass adds new content NOT LOCKING CAMPAIN SKINS WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN AND USED BEHIND A WALL.

The fact that it’s on gamepass is irrelevant and I hate people using that argument. Gamepass is a paid service, and the game is still a purcahse game. It’s not free and should not be subject to the microtransaction model. Season passes were pushing it, but at least it was a flat fee for all subsequent content and no microtransactions and the content was actually worth while.

Fact is, Gears is not a free to play game. And people can pay upwards of $80 to $100 or more on special edition content and then the gaming company expects more money. Well no, that’s not how that works. Make a product us gamers can be proud to play, happy to play, and stop being greedy. Your product should speak for itself, not be a monetization nightmare.

I’m not a expert on how devs benefit from game pass but they must be a huge upfront pay for it. No way it goes into game pass for free with no compensation

The fact no dev says we do it cos game pass is evidence

It’s a subscription service for games is what I know, but the fact of the matter is that it’s not a free to play game.

I use Warframe as an example for the right way to do a free to play model. I’ve been playing that game for six years and I don’t have to spend money if I don’t want to. Of course, I’ve supported the game because I’m addicted to it and it’s a great game. You can earn everything in it easily without spending a penny and if you want to support the game, the prices are fair. However it is FREE TO PLAY.

Gears and other games like COD and Battlefield are not FREE TO PLAY and should not charge gamers extra for in game content that should be earnable. A season pass flat fee is fine for exclusive content to support other features if you want to, but not all this transactions on crappy skins for $20 a skin. Insane.

That’s literally how they make their paychecks. But TC, Microsoft, EA, Activision, etc make their money by making quality titles for people to want to buy. If you make a great game, it should stand on it’s own merits and make people tell other people to buy it to play with them. Not put in microtransactions. It’s a bad practice all around.

I’ve heard it all before, many posts ago, but I still stand by my statement. Microtransactions have no place in paid games. If other people did the same then developers would know not to do it. But it’s a lost cause.

I’ve also been told not to buy the game, and others have been told not to buy the game. The fact is we don’t want the franchise to die out because the story is engaging. We just want the microtransactions to stop.

I use to want Epic back but now I hate them with a passion. They just got got lucky by jumping on a popular trend saving their doomed game making it free then easing ppl into crazy amounts of stupid micro transactions while bringing and making the battle pass system a basic lazy grindy progressions system everyone loves today

As far as I know he doesn’t do games anymore. He was done after Gears three and that’s why it got handed over to People Can Fly for Judgement. Then Epic sold the rights to Microsoft, which led to TC.

In Borderlands 3 I’m looting skins (character heads, outfit skins, gun skins, UI skins, etc) literally every time I play. For free.
And, if I want to buy one, I kill more enemies to receive the in game currency. No pay wall. No real money. It’s sadly an “old school” concept at this point but that game proves it’s viable in a AAA title.
