Sorry but no. Saying “why cheese beginner” isn’t giving an opinion. The “cheese” makes it inflammatory.
Giving an opinion would be: “I recommend playing on higher difficulties, as you gain more xp”.
Maybe English isn’t your native language or something, if this is going over your head.
When I said that, I meant look at it from developer point of view. Do you wanna give your fan base players a really easy objective that you can get done in a single Versus match? No. Instead, the 60,000 XP takes more than that. I don’t know how many Horde or Escape matches on whatever difficulty it takes. I would prefer to give an XP objective that takes longer.
Thing is, people want easy objectives. I wouldn’t. It’ll be piss easy to do.

I just wonder why there is nothing to play for. I am not really asking you or anyone really. It just seems that playing a game for fun would be the best option. If one is stopping because their is nothing to play for that generally means that game is not that good. And I think that is a problem with gaming currently. Without some random flag or some other thing people currently say this a lot about a games. They just do not want to play without something to grind for. And that seems to fit with the idea that these games have the issues people talk about and one needs something artificial to keep them playing.
Grinding general sort of ruined my enjoyment as it was not fun in anyway shape or form. (However if i could play how l want, look how I want when grinding for general. I would have had waaaay more fun) Not that there was much in this spineless judgment of a launch title to earn in ToD though.

I played gears 2 ranked not for rank but socially to avoid bots n have full lobbies. I cant do that in gears 4 or 5. Evvery game an afk player. Every game a quitter.
Its not fun anymore… i cant use sam byrne for no good reason. (Horde/escape is not a good argument to me. It detracts from the experience.) Play how u want, but not look how u want. Or look how u want, not play how u want. To me, its terrible.
I cant use all the locust i like (which is a lot lol. I love locusts) which has 0 reasons for. This game has interested me far less than even 4…
All my opinion but, this game may even be under mediocre. To me, 4 barely reached that at launch.
not sure if you’re doing something I am not but I tried to play beginner horde but got very little xp for completing 40 odd waves, think it was around 3 or 4 thousand xp or there abouts and that’s with boost.
unless it glitched like everything else in this game I must be missing something
Beginner Horde doesn’t give you a lot of XP but Experienced at least gives you something like 8,000+ XP if you have boost, 12,000+ for Advanced and so on. Though this is only accurate information if I got the numbers right in my head, which might not be the case. So take them with a grain of salt.
However, Experienced can be very easy depending on which two difficulty modifiers you choose if you have several unlocked. I’d recommend health regen(for enemies) and then either execution rules, power drain or slower health regen for players. If not, take survivor and another if you’re certain you won’t wipe.
Thanks for the info, its just Ektope mentioned doing beginner horde and getting xp pretty quick thought I would try that, hardly moved my xp total 
I did like one Insane Wave 1 to 20, maybe 15 to 20 Beginner Wave 1 to 20 and probably 30+ or 50+ Inconceivable Escape. It must’ve been the Escape ones that gave loads.
Well, Escape seems to be what progresses you the most and fastest XP wise. It gives a lot of XP for the duration of its matches. Kind of an issue I have with Horde as some rewards for it are not appropriate to the length of the match(skills, notably - who plays Insane and upwards to receive 5-7 common skills out of 10 possible drops?).
oh ok thanks, I did 40 odd waves of beginner horde then went to check the xp total on the totem, crappy thing hardly moved even after rubbing my eyes and cleaning my glasses 
I get you 100 percent but there has to be a better way of letting TC to know what is bothering us other then I hate this game it’s the worst ever I’m done. If every day there were actual ideas to improve the game then great but everyday it’s just the same bashing if I hate this game I’m done. How does that help fix things. And if that’s how people blow off frustration then fine but it’s a little immature.
Agree OP, I’m playing Gears 4 again. Having a lot of fun in multiplayer. Doubt I’ll ever return to gears 5 multiplayer barring some significant improvements and changes in mechanics.
agree, the length of horde and reward don’t seem to add up, escape I just don’t like so will have to smoke something strong to numb the pain and play it 
I’m taking a long break once I’m done with Tour of Duty and a few more medals. It’s getting hard to enjoy anything about this game now.
If it’s still bad by the time January hits then I’m officially done too.
I don’t have boost, so even when playing Horde I don’t get alot of XP. I’m not going to open my wallet for any boost. It just goes to show that this Totem system was made for people with boost, and to give people incentive to purchase a booster.
Just imagine getting MVP every game in Versus for 500 measly XP towards my totem. Story of my life right now.
I was thinking of this while playing today. I’m still running through my starting boost so it seems fine now, but once the boost is gone…60k XP is going to be a slog.
Right now to finish all the totems you need 240k XP…that’s enough to reach reup 2 lv 25 if you were starting from scratch. That is a huge chunk of play time for 4 characters if you don’t play often or modes that don’t offer a nice rate of XP.
Im using my free boost up then deleting off my hardrive, i play 2 games ranked and just feel drained of their bs, even getting ads for the store poopping up on main menu, just f off with mtx pleeease
