I liked the feel of the movement after I got used to it. It was pretty jarring at first. The shotgun feels pretty good and a lot more of consistent. As far as the lancer changes, I do not like it. If you’re going to reduce the damage, at least reduce the bloom.
All in all, it feels pretty good. I got into a lot more strafe fights.
I did not like what you did to the points based on the elemination in KOTH. It is already very difficult to win in koth since everybody is playing in team (they come together) and if you are teamed up with random players that are not at the same level, your only option is to make as much points as possible through the eliminations, due to the extremly difficult that results to win and even to capture, when you have a whole communicated team crossing you all the match.
Talking abound the ranked matches, you shouldn’t loose points when someone of your team quitts. It sucks when you loose because half of your team left before finishing the match, and you still loosing the same point as if you had played the match with all your teammates. There are a lot of games in which when someone quitts you don’t loose points because is unfair for the ones who did finish the match.
Am having fun with it so far. I’m having way more extended gnasher fights with multiple opponents and it feels like skill will be more rewarded. It does feel even clunkier now, though. The stickiness of the walls really needs looking at imo. I’d also be interested to see what this tuning feels like with a slightly higher sliding speed.
A first reaction is fine…but I think people need to give it a few days of playing this before any solid opinion can be made. I will do just that.
I haven’t gotten to play it yet, but hearing “strafe fights are back” makes me want to cry tears of joy. I hate how gnasher fights turned into one shot kills. The old days you had to do a dance and it was actually fun.
Agree completely. Haven’t played yet either but reading that makes me happy. Although I doubt these changes will be as effective as actually reducing the range.
I beg you; PLEASE STOP MAKING IT HARDER TO WALL-BOUNCE.
I am really liking it. Each developer update make this game better imo. Slowing down the speed to a normal degree enables players to have their own playstyle like old gears games. People are not running around like crazy and one shotting each other, instead people are trying to outplay each other. Only complaint i have is that up a still need s slight nerf. Other than that, gameplay is gettiing better and closer to the real gears game.
Love the gnasher changes.
I haven’t played this playlist yet; the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is seeing if I don’t get killed by someone shooting the air next to me now.
Can anyone confirm on PC if there’s ever been any magnetism on controller? I’ve been feeling for a while now like I have to aim perfectly when no one else does, and I just realized that might be because on PC there’s no magnetism regardless of input… that could easily be my own bias, though.
increase movement a little more
Gears 5 right now is so perfect the movement ant the gnasher is so good, this game will be back for the good people ad sure they will be back
Hello been playing gears overall for many years and do scrims. I personally think this new update is not where it should be. The spread has made the game where you can 2 Shot down with the new beta which is fine because a lot of people get ■■■■■■■■. The one thing I think is ■■■■ though if you blind fires they’re kinda in consistent still register as couple pellets but I think the pattern of full spread should be a bit adjusted. I test every update. I do believe the slide speed should been kept where it was from last update. If anything please contact me on my media below. Thanks

I felt like everybody was missing way more shots against me. My aim felt just fine, i’m a GoW 1 vet though so maybe it’s just me
Overall it felt really good not gunna lie.
I’m enjoying this. You can actually have a shotgun battle now. I actually love the slide speed reduction. It doesn’t effect how I play, meaning I can still wall bounce, but it also allows to see what the opponent is actually doing. With the changes on magnetism, you truly need to rely on your own skill to kill the opponent. I think the wall bounce and slide to Up A has been abused and bring a not so fun meta. This change allows those to still bounce, but punishes poorly timed bounces.
I would love for this to make its way into the live game.
Hey!
New changes feel good overall, still i feel like the movement is kind of slow and gnasher with less spread has increased the range, not saying to go back to previous settings but maybe just increasing a little bit may help
I would like for a developer to look into making the auto-centering function for single stick optional.
Played over 10 matches and so far I’d say the changes are great.
-Gnasher fights feel a lot more satisfying and rewarding. It is a bit more difficult, but the gameplay is better
-movement feels good, you need to be more deliberate and not as spastic. Feels more like gears 3 movement which I am a fan of
-Lancer feels like it’s in a good place and has a proper role
Additions:
-id like to see a smaller gib range and very slightly more damage from the gnasher at mid range
Overall I’m a huge fan and think these are excellent changes, and a step in the right direction for the game.
This is the best the game has felt since launch
Edit: Heads up, Dev tuning is an option in custom matches
