Official Feedback thread for Developer Playlist

A lot of people have been saying this from launch and all TC had to do was take Gears of War 4 and make it better.

For me G.o.W. 4 is just flat out more fun, consistent and visually a better game. The FEEL of the game is better the roadie run and moment feel smoother and the slides feel more consistent. on a slide note I don’t like the roadie run or strafe in Gears 5 it feels off the Dev play list is better but it doesn’t feel like a Gears game.

It is strange to me how Gears of War 4 feels so different to Gear 5 when the roadie run and slide speed are meant to be faster in Gears of War 4 but the game feels slower over all and way more consistent? The numbers don’t add up.

I really agree. From how heavy the characters feels, to the rustling of the armor plates while the run, it’s just a different experience.
I really enjoy 5. I like how it’s easier to slide and maneuver cover and other aspects.
It just makes me why why the two games are so different

  1. Plz add Saturation Slider for reducing Colors
  2. Allow for Character change between MP Matches
  3. Allow for character change if im beeing in the Party and I’m not the leader
  4. Add Support for High DPI mice 12K+ and Add support for Menu Mouse Cursor to Read from Mice DPI (not Windows)
  5. Let us remap CTRL for Crouch
  6. Let us use WheelUp / Down for WeaponSlot 1 & 2
  7. Add Option to change Audio output from 5.1 to Stereo inside a game.

Today I will play my last PVP game, just before the update that is going to make worse the general feeling of the gameplay.
Thanks GOW4 for all the hundreds of hours of fun and rage. You weren’t perfect, but you were fast and fun.
TC, I played Gears 5 for months. I actually enjoyed the most part but you weren’t supposed to touch one single thing: slide speed. You could make it more fast, but you preferred to ruin it completely for me.

Lol no the Gears 5 lancer has been nerfed multiple times now to the point where it gets ridiculous

The game feels really slow and I don’t like it at all. The Gnasher was improved tremendously but the movement is like taking 3 steps backward rather than moving forward.

I feel like this game is the equivalent to my Chicago Cubs pre-2016: There’s always next year [update]

In my personal opinion, I don’t like at all the new movement. The character feels too slow, heavy and not fluid, I can’t even wallbounce. It feels like gears of one 1 movement.

I definitely agree! Feels way too slow now… :frowning:

I played some games yesterday and it felt like running with glue under my feet.

I know the slide speed is slower but this game feels like this fairly often, especially after updates.

Gow4 sucks im soorrry. Dont see the hype in it

Everyone likes different things. No matter what you do/create, some will love it, some will hate it, most will be between those.

If you love g5 and hate gow4, thats cool, thats where you fall in that spectrum. For purposes of versus, i am the opposite. Gow4 had a couple of minor annoyances for me, g5 is just filled with huge issues which make me hate it.

I have zero i terrst in versus in g5 and play it only for dailies, or when some friends ask me to join them for few rounds of versus…

Yes ive touched ranked, quite a bit more than most. if you increase the damage and lower the gib range the gib range would feel further than it is now. The gnasher right now with a well placed LT on a hurt target can nail you from very far away, if you increase spread damage and decrease range the close range fights would feel more consistent imo. That way you dont have to hit every single pellet close up to get a kill as you do now. Instead a well placed 70% shot would kill.

Feels good lately, slight qualms. The heavy feeling on console /controller. Gotta say the speed boost out of cover can still make a guy disappear, probably the most frustrating part of the game . Creates an easy up A that can’t be defended too often. Lag seems to occur most during player interactions and that can really be frustrating.

This is the conclusion I came to this past week.

It felt unbearable, much different than the beta tuning I had tried before. Did they make some unintended changes? Is something off?

No, the real answer is that the game truly feels awful with every update. This is why I have disliked every single update at first, because I always feels that it brings such a sluggish feel, when in reality it must have to do with the server activity.

It’s funny there was no update today and my guy felt like he was stuck on quicksand. Horrible.

The last info i found of this is:

Next week, we’re bringing back the Developer’s Playlist with a few minor adjustments.

We want to further iterate on some weapons within the beta tuning that we feel aren’t currently meeting the goals within that space.

By and large we are satisfied with the current tuning in the Developer’s Playlist but we feel a few small tweaks are needed to make sure each weapon has a specific and balanced role on the battlefield.

Our view is the Snub, Enforcer and Talon overperform compared to other weapons currently. The Lancer was lacking in a meaningful role and the new changes make it more viable at medium to long range. The remaining tuning changes are subtle but we believe will improve the overall experience of using them.

Here are the complete changes:

Lancer:

  • Slightly increased accuracy with consecutive fire when standing still and moving.

Snub Pistol:

  • Reduced rate of fire from 600 -> 480 (8 shots/s).

Enforcer:

  • Reduced base damage from 55 -> 40
  • Reduced active ROF multiplier from 1.25x -> 1.1x

Talon Pistol:

  • Reduced base damage from 45 -> 30
  • Reduced active ROF multiplier from 1.25x -> 1.1x

Longshot:

  • Increased the rate at which the player becomes accurate when transitioning into ADS. Focused on improving the feel of standing still and hitting accurate pop shots.

Embar:

  • Reduced magnetism at all ranges by 50%
  • Increased the view distance of the 2nd level of zoom

Grenades:

  • Increased the speed when switching from a grenade to another weapon

I definitely felt the change in the snub pistol.

The weapon swap speed seems to be slower across all weapons and faster only for grenades.

Anyone now the settings for movement? It feels even more awful than normal on console (I mainly play on PC with max FOV at 60 FPS will check later on PC)

It’s hard to even gauge what’s new with shotgun! pc players in there hitting every shot even with 130 ping it’s just frustrating, I like the tuning the way it is in ranked now feels good… I will say iv played the playlist twice and bin frustrated twice
