The weapon swap speed being lower is the worst part about this, no other changes have really affected my gameplay, or atleast not from the few matches I’ve done so far
So far, I love it. It feels how Gears should feel, heavy. You can still wall bounce but hitting shots means more now.
I like the delay in ‘‘Air Back A’’ etc.
I feel a person in cover should have a advantage than someone pushing that persons cover and I do.
Overall, it’s my favorite update .
Many will disagree and that’s fine.
This is just my opinion.

I was adaptating through all this operation since this game came out, and for the first time I had to say that this changes to the movement are really awful, I know that you’all working very hard, but I think that the movements mechanics shouldn’t needed any updates exceptating for the speed of the slide to cover, I’m not feeling very happy about this, all the other changes has been cool I mean it, but the last two updates to the movement have to be reversed, please, don’t make gow 5 to get slower than ever!!! Don’t take away from me the wall bounce, the very best reason why I love the game, i like everything but mostly the movement and gnasher fights dinámic.

I think I understand why you’all are nerfing and making changes to the secondary and heavy weapons, cause you’ll know that the gnasher is the center of all the action,
I like the changes a lot, makes the game feel less hyperactive. Huge huge fan of the nerfed up a, you have to be more calculated with that as opposed to just defaulting to it.
Problem is the online is still wack and the shotgun is still a mid range canon. Also IDK about 4v4.
Games still pretty bad movement wise and now its a 4v4… game pacing is way to slow again. Extremely boring … want the fsst paced high intensity gameplays again that put you on the edge of your seat and give you that adrenaline rush. That’s the gears I miss. Thats the game the set it self apart from the shooter franchise. State of gears right now just ain’t it for pvp…
Rifles do way too low damage, the game turns into gnasher only turning it into a simple and lag dependent fight.
This is a very terrible change in a very terrible game.
Delaying the shot before canceling the slide absolutely kills my playstyle. You must now stop completely to fire the shot. Previously, it was possible to predict that the enemy was going to make UP-A, abruptly interrupt the slide and counter BACK-A. This requires a good reaction. Now this is almost impossible.
Someone says that the decrease in the speed of movement is insignificant and gives a comparison in numbers. But let’s not forget that this is happening in a planned way. And if you add up all the previous nerfs, you get “running in quicksand”. After the last changes, I lacked the speed so much that for a long time I pressed the left stick upwards with such force that I thought I would break my controller. And here again, the same feeling.
Leave the current setting for at least custom lobbies. With the aim assist turned off, this is the only funny mode in this “nursing home”.
Nah what you described isn’t adrenaline rush it’s just spamming a hoping to hit a lucky shot and boring. Why the gears esports is dying since 4 hit. No skill required to win gnasher fights.
Increasing the skill gab and making the game harder. Apparently that makes the game boring.

I tried the tuning on the Dev playlist and I don’t like it for the same reasons that others have stated above.
I liked the Op 4 moment tune although I also agree that ‘Up A’ was relied upon too much.

Wow, those are really good points, I didn’t realize the magnetism was so low. Must be the netcode when I get killed by someone who seemingly isn’t aiming their Gnasher directly at me, I understand better now where these delays came from.
My assumption was wrong. I see now that this makes other playstyles more viable.
I just wish the Remapping accessibility feature didn’t cause such a mess with the control schemes. Still really annoying to me that the input delay on Classic Alt takes away my ability to Roadie Run strafe. Shouldn’t have to do all that nonsense and break the game just so the game can feel the way it’s supposed to.
This tuning makes the skill gap significantly more apparent now. And I think people really hate that haha. Gears 5 has been so simplified and dumbed down that naturally low skilled players can get easy kills without much effort. What’s funny is I have played with a lot of these people complaining in the forums before. Some of complain about slow pace, but they camp, some of them complain about shots not registering, but they miss consistently, some complain about the movement being sluggish but they bot walk everywhere. I’m not saying their opinions are invalid or they have no claims but most of them complaining do not push the tuning to its limits to see and understand if its overall better or not for the community. From the second they released the patched notes on the new beta changes, most people instantly shot it down. So naturally you are biased and do not give it a chance. The tuning works and it is truly a step in the right direction. I have zero issues with these changes. and I hope they are permanently added to the game for all game modes
I agree about the control schemes. But it’s been a thing for a while so I feel like theres no going back there. If everyone was on the same scheme that would be ideal but oh well.
Idk anything about net code, but I do know that 4v4 + this new tuning is the least frustrated I’ve felt playing the game. I haven’t had to question how I died, game makes sense… and the gib range feels 10x more consistent.

PS: Can you make koth ranked match one round only 1 game with 2 or 3 round takes ages to complete…(between 30 minutes to 45 minutes or an hour. I think it is too much time for one ranked match…thank you)
Games even more skillless now that it really has ever been. I never said turn everyone into a crack bouncer like gears 3 was but slowing the game down to this extent is just boring. And gears esports started dying along time before gears 4… there has to be a happy medium thats found but as the state of the game is right now. There is little to no skill just point and shoot. Its hard to miss shots because the game pacing is ■■■, if you time hold your shot you’ll win 9 out of 10 engagements. Very little need for strafing. Not to mention the mechanics that made the franchise what it is today its cover based mechanics. Games just beyond boring now.
The quicksand analogy is a bit extreme considering the speed difference is only 20uu. Now if we were at, say, 600 650 or even 550 and drop to 480 it would be a lot more noticeable.
Personally, I didn’t feel like there was much of a difference at all and if it’s there it’s negligible. I’ve been playing constantly since launch and all of its changes and this seems like the least extreme change to movement. Slower? Ok I get it but to to those saying “it’s like you’re running through quicksand” is just inaccurate.
It’s videos like this that make this game seem so broken. There is no way that this should be possible. This just looks so funky and wrong.
