I really do not think people want a reduction by sticking to the covers is much easier now that you collapse in short personally it seems to me a change for the worse

Tried it for the first time today and I really, really like it. Feels way more like classic Gears in my opinion.
Movement speed being slowed down will help create a more consistent gears of war for a multitude of reasons. Lag comp is a big deal in Gears. If you slow down the slide speed, this will help everyone being at the same place at the same time on everyone’s screen. Slowing down the slide speed will also help slow down the game and create more methodical fights and gameplay will play out much smoother. Slowing down the game will help bring back the aspect of Gears being a cover shooter. Cover truly isn’t respected on this game as people will slide into you with no regrets which takes away from what Gears is meant to be.

I have been saying this from the beginning and still play 4 as it feels a better game to play IMO.

I was unsure of this at first but after playing more I think the game is far better with the reduced slide speed, there’s more fights rather than people just playing for the up A, being aggressive is still effective it’s just more punishable with this system.
it’s good that slide speed is being addressed and I like the change, but other aspects of movement are still very off. Strafing is way too slow in this game, it needs to be increased. the speed boosts around corners combined with Up A’s are still an issue.
basically if you’re going to implement this you need to tweak other things as well. We couldve just gone with Gears 4 tuning and been done with it. Gears 4’s movement was on point. Shotgun battles are 10x more rewarding in that game.
@Surly_McGruff what is the delay of shooting out of a role vs shooting out of a roadie run? And why does it seem like the roll has less of a delay?

@iB2fResH @BatmanBeyond602 Twitch reflexes definitely slow down. Im in my 40s now. Not 20s. But I dont want or need the game slowed down just for my older reflexes. I can hold my own still. And thats what makes Gears different. Their are lots of techniques and strategies that can be used to negate super fast twitch reflexes. The Up A is one of the most basic moves in Gears. And a good “up A,” will destroy fast twitch all day long.
I love the “ice skating” feel of 5. People.wanting to slow the game down annoy the crap out of me. I dont want to play a gears where I cant evade shots. I want to play a gears game where i get punished for getting caught in the open or b/c I missed my shots. Not because im.just too slow to slip into cover.

I’ve read here how you can’t feel the difference. To me that is BS. I can tell the difference easy between current movement and beta playlist. After last night seems even more clunky and slow. I’m I missing something here? Are the players who are saying this(ss) feels much better, are they on PC is there a difference or something? Are they playing it or just running around and bouncing for a match and that’s it? because idk Wtf they are talking about, beta playlist feels slow , sluggish, straight POO.

That clunky nonsense has zero place in the actual game.
I want to say this is probably the first time in a long time I’ve seen gears take a step in the right direction. The new movement speed was well needed. Even at 600 I still abuse movement just as I did at 650. To be honest it’s still the only way to play the game at a high level and that’s a problem. Really not a choice of do I strafe or bounce. I would like to see a thinking game again. Half the time I don’t care if I’m pushing your right hand advantage or not That’s a problem that tells me cover doesn’t mean much anymore. For those saying it’s Too slow . You must of not played gow 2 Tu6 those were dark day .
Also all of the players that want to see the game speed up ,and threaten to quit the game if the new movement goes into play. Remember There are people who wanted the game to be slowed down since gow 3 and have stuck it out no matter what state gears was in it’s time for y’all to do the same. We all love gears let the other guys have a victory too.
Also I wanted to thank the man that’s over PVP now. The way he addresses questions and his understanding of want needs to be done for gears gives me faith in what’s to come.
to be honest the speed of wallbonce seemed slow to me before and now I feel it terrible, the problem of the slowness is that all kinds of players are lost the fast players miss more shots but they are a difficult target and the slow ones have more aim but they are a white easier, even the 650 seemed slow to me, the reaction speed of the characters is not completely immediate, I would put more speed I would say that up to 700 and I would place the option of gears 3 and 2 and that is that the camera moves quite a lot when running gives a feeling of vertigo apart from being running all the time makes enemies lose field of vision so stopping will be required for shooting accurate sea marking a disadvantage for moving so fast
@Vader4304 how the f do u “abuse” movement. That is a weird statement. What does that even mean? It seems its only high level competitive players that play in stacks w/competent teammates that want slow nonsense.
When I say I abuse it 9/10 gunfights I bounce too close the distance I bounce to get out of bad situations that I know I should of probably died In. More times than not I can back A or up a people’s right hand. You can’t tell me that everyone’s reaction time are that slow that they just allow that to happen. Half of the time I don’t think they even see me hit the cover before they die. Part of that is probably latency the other is 100% how fast you can slip in and out of covers . When I say it’s the only way to play at a high level your constantly abusing these broken mechanics. That’s why the pro’s don’t want it . It’s cheap and has been broken for years now.
i was wondering, just an idea, why not adding a bullet travel time to the lancer ? It would nerf the lancer but keep damages.
