bro they never fixed the issues in gears 4 even after 2 years, PC players will never see the end of it with gears 5 either.

hi guys , i had same problem with gtx 1070oc on gears 4 now same history for gears 5 , i did a windows 10 dual boot one for only gears 4-5 and the other for rest of games . only for gears 4-5 installed driver 391.37 and this resolved all problems .
I know, I’m just saying, don’t get your hopes up cause TC don’t give a ■■■■ about anyone.

Bro try going into ur device manger drivers go to the top click on show all hidden then go to system device drivers and update each one automatically by 2nd clicking it also u should just update all ur drivers there also try resting all ur internet settings under settings for internet rest all network settings and do the same for ur firewall rest it and be sure to use DDU for ur nvidia card to do a deep clean then install the August 27th driver there’s one more thing to do there’s some drivers on internet on device manger u delete and then refresh the drivers by second clicking it and the drivers and scan for hardware changes I forgot witch ones to delete all wams maybe then after u delete them windows will reinstall them all after u scan for hardware changes and u must click show all hidden first on top but like I said I don’t know witch ones I’m gonna double check but I’m sure if u do all the steps before that one u should be okay also make sure ur bios is up to date and update all updates on windows update and MS store updates they both do different updates

Nvidia told me via email they’re already aware of the issue and are investigating the root cause, so this is not because I did a wrong installation or faulty hardware of mine.
It seems the 431.60 is the only driver that works well with the game, no crashes at the moment.
Edit: It crashed too with that old driver. I give up and I requested refund. F#@!cking lazy developers.

I can confirm that latest Nvidia drivers (436.48) also shut down your monitor on Gears 5 multiplayer, please fix this NVIDIA
Any news or update to fix this on new drivers?

I can run it while using Drivers 436.15 to have my display on and not pass out, and no asynchronous compute, to eliminate stutters, I get to play it at least, so I really hope they fix this black screen (monitor shutting off) and stutters, with the latest drivers I can use Asynchronous computing but get black screen

The game crashes and stutter with that driver. I can only play it with 382.53 but It stutters more often and It crashes but very rarely. Also It causes BSOD randomly on the system so is urgent they fix It, I can’t use a 2017 driver on my PC anymore.
Update: With 382.53 driver crashed too. I’m pissed off. The only way is wait till they really fix It.

Yeah it still stutters with 436.15, hope they fix it soon
I had no probs with 436.15. When there was a FPS drop a driver re-install with Clean Install option always fixed that.
But 436.30 and 436.48 cause freeze on the spinning COG on the splash screen with video lost. No fix from Nv and nothing from TC either.
It was a Nv poster who asked for feedback whether the Oct Gears 5 title Update had fixed it - but no it didnt. I’m staying on 436.48 so that means no more Gears 5 for me.
I guess as we have game pass TC dont care - crashes are always the fault of the PC user arent they!!!
They haven’t learned from gear 4 which also had crashing problems on PC.
So glad I didn’t pay for this game.

Luckily I had no probs with Gears 4 as I only played it very recently. Knowing Gears 5 was coming was part of the reason I bought 12 months of game pass - so I very much feel like I paid for it. I went back to 436.15 to finish the campaign only so I dont think I got my money’s worth with Gears 5.
There’s an absolute lack of acknowledgement on the status page for a month now and Nv didnt mention Gears 5 in the official release notes of 436.48 either.
Every PC is different but its not our fault as PC owners to fix crashes when its just one game that does it.

436.30 has given me good results with asynchronous compute enabled, so far I am able to play campaign without stutters and some mp
Nevermind, just got my first black screen after multiplayer, please fix this nvidia

With 10xx card and 436.30 and .48 you can go days without a crash and then its every time, so its easy to think youve fixed it after some change or that some update has caused it.
You need to observe over a number of days - but its been a month now, its only Gears 5 that crashes, and its only on certain drivers, so its shocking this still hasnt been sorted by now.

I just downloaded the newest drivers for nov 2019 and it is bad my display won’t show nothing it turns black and a freeze so I went back to the old drivers I mention and flawless don’t why all the new drivers keep makeing my 1080 ti go bananas man nvidia and tc need to fix this or els more players will stop playing this game and no Xbox is the same with lost of connections and I don’t wanna play on Xbox I know is not my hardware cus all my other games work find this game makes my machine go nuts with new drivers and I don’t wanna be stuck on old drivers to play this game so we need a real fix ASAP
