Between him and normal grenadier (chuckles) I dont think I really used any other locust on G3.

Scion characters are locust drones. We haven’t seen the other locust like kantus or theron who evolved in the crystals. I want to see Hive Kantus or Hive Theron who still wear their old robes and armor. No helmets with the most insane unique looking faces and voice lines we have ever heard that really say things that tie back to their past like the flooding of the hollow or lightmass bomb.

Impossible only because in their bio it specifically says they are scions. Scions description are locust drones. Even before Gears 5 I had a theory that all the scions in gears 4 were low ranking locust like grenadiers because of their armor was so so similar even the speaker wears modified grenadier elite armor. The canon is that the scions are locust drones so we have yet to see any of the other sub classes of locust besides locust drones which makes sense because the locust drones have always been the frontline. Once we go looking for the queen, deeper into the hive its possible we may see classes like the theron or kantus. Also the teeth of a warden don’t match a therons teeth. Warden and all scions really have similar faces to the locust drones that you could just see that it was once a locust drone just by glancing at one. Therons have these really big mouths and huge teeth that make their faces look almost terrifying to look at. So I imagine a swarm theron or whatever they will be called will look even more crazier.

I agree biologically they look more like drones. Their armor however (especially their helmets) resembles that of a Theron. As well as in their description it mentions them once being high ranking Locust and hints that their gear is meant to resemble that of the Theron. Also if I’m not mistaken Theron are considered to be high ranking drones, despite their physical differences. I’m not entirely sure though so this is all up for debate

Well met, do see the similarities of a savage theron helmet or gears 3 raams shadow theron elite having a similar design to the wardens helmet but the helmet has a similar design to flame grenadier helmets as well. I took the wardens bio as like a gears scholar trying to make sense of who the wardens are most likely baird. I would believe that they were once high ranking members if they had a different voice, almost feel like all the hard work that they put into the speaker should of went to the wardens. Wardens should truly be yelling at us in screaming vengeance for the hollow and what not if they are truly high ranking members. A lot of the speaker lines are really good and sound more like your traditional drone speaking. I imagine back in the hollow he gave many honorable speeches to many of his locust brothers. Therons did not become wardens, the voice of a theron and kantus sounds nothing like what a warden sounds like. That is the main reason it cannot be so but that doesnt mean that the former locust drone didnt get a promotion with better armor to match his new scion body.

We don’t have any clue what Wardens actually are. Their description states their appearance seems reminiscent of what previously were high ranking Locust, but we haven’t received any direct confirmation as far as I know, so it’s likely intentionally unclear.
Though going by facial appearance, a Warden deffo looks closer to a regular Drone than a Theron. But that may partially be down to the evolutionary mutation of their body.

I did some digging and I was correct, Therons as well as RAAM himself are considered to be drones. Therons are just simply better trained than your average drone. Where the physical differences between the two come in is beyond me, as they look as though they would be two different species of Locust. Much like how the Kantus is a separate species to the drone. Perhaps Theron are slightly more evolved drones?

Very true, theron and raam are much older as you can see in their faces and teeth. Check out drone, grenadier, theron. Its like a life cycle for the locust, raam and uzil being the oldest drones we have seen. But still all of the scions we have seen so far are merely locust drones/grenadiers turned into scions imo of course. I still think a scion of a theron or kantus would be extremely different

Perhaps as a scion grows older it “evolves” into what would be the equivalent of a Scion based Theron? Sort of how the Theron are “evolved” drones?

I love this. I really cant wait until they come out with the first generation locust from the gears 5 campaign. Man those locust who were frozen were from a battle of freeing the queen from that place. They literally sacrificed so that their locust brothers and queen could escape.

Having the Rager with two common skins is the most expected option. The one character with two skins (calm & enraged) something that would be clever is when the rager (enraged) is killed he reverts back to his calm form if he goes down or dies and becomes enraged again when he is revived.

Maybe a toxic skin set for the swarm like the weapons where they have toxic gas or ooze coming out of them. Give a good glow effect to add dynamics to these characters
