This, is not true… You’re not the only one who plays gears, my guy. With the old system, from what myself & my personal friends have seen of the past MONTHS, the higher your rank, the more points you were subtracted end game. I really do not understand where this overconfidence of yours is coming from… It’s crazy.
So… Two people are blind? As @magicalpig76 mentioned, it is genuinely possible the player generated all health lost by the time they were killed, however, the fact is YOU don’t know if this is true or not. This is something we’re theorizing based on things WE HAVE NOTICED WHILE PLAYING THE ACTUAL GAME.
I also don’t like how if I have team mates who leave, I get rolled over 5v2, 5v3 and lose. Because it cost even 65 to enter a silver, I only get 30-40 or less depending and go down points.

I don’t think there should be a cap on the GP able to earn honestly. If theres a cap, people will start playing differentlynif they only need caps or breaks. For koth 2 points for caps and breaks, 1 point for kill/elimination with no caps on it. More you do, more GP you get. Maybe some twerking but I don’t care for caps on anything.
System may be flawed but this is exactly why TC didn’t just release it and say, “Here ya go have at it this is what you get.” Dana specifically said that the first 3 maybe 4 weeks will be a preseason to get real data on how the new system is working. The simulation was good but not enough to give the team the info needed to make changes. He even said in the latest stream that it’s days old and wants to see how it works for a few weeks b4 making changes as some people will complain just bc it’s the new thing.
Give the new system a few weeks. Let TC collect the data and they will make the necessary changes. Took a while but they changed the Allies XP requirements. I’m sure, data permitting, that they’ll do the same for GP in ranked.
Hard disagree. New system is already better and they’ll tweak it. I love all these people coming out of the woodwork out of nowhere suddenly liking the old system that they now say rewarded individual play. Even though it didn’t and there’s tons of threads and posts complaining about performing well and ranking down. The old system was garbage
Agreed. Just take Elims out and go back to Kills like every other Gears game and that might lower the incentive for camping and Lancer whoring. There’s nothing good about Elims… they just inflate stats and promote Lancering. Awarding a player an Elim for 2 lancer bullets or 1 snub bullet is absolute ■■■■■■■■ and it’s part of the casual friendly, skill gap lowering nonsense that got us all in this mess in the first place
Eliminations are too easy to earn. You see people with ridiculous amounts of eliminations. I have gotten over 90 eliminations in KOTH, many which occurred without much engagement. Eliminations, in my opinion don’t mitigate stealing downs . Personally, I believe eliminations encourage kill stealing. The concept of eliminations seems to imply that assists are just as significant as kills.

Nobody claims the old system caters to individualized play. They clearly don’t care about that. Traditional scoring, individual stats ,. That’s what should count toward your rank. Not how good your team does. Most adults don’t have the luxury of stacking a squad to play. We play in our leisure time. So your next comment will be “go play FFA” . How about they just stop trying to transform gears into some new crap and leave certain aspects alone. If I play annex, KOTH, whatever, and I played better than anyone else, I should be MVP, my rank should not decrease because my team was trash. Anyone who disagrees with this is just a sheep. Keep on following.

How many points you lost (Post OP 1) depended on who you lost to and how you performed. What rank were you losing a lot of points in?
It’s not overconfidence. You were incorrect about the previous ranking system being only about winning. It was mostly about winning, but there were elements of personal performance.
He said himself it’s possible the player regenerated health. Plus, elims are elims. Assists or kills = elim. 1 lancer bullet still causes damage. Damage = assist, provided they are killed before regenerating.

Yes, zero point games happened more often, but you could still go up on losses. Happened to me plenty of times. Maybe you just weren’t good enough to have that happen.
