If they completely removed or Nerf the aim assist lancer might be fine.
I agree, the sniper is largely inconsistent. I’ve scoped people dead center and have missed the head shot yet I’ve seen on kill cams when I’ve been sniped that the sight happened to touch somewhere near me and awarded them a headshot. I’ve seen such inconsistencies with Boltok even when I have been using it I’ve shot someone in the chest and got the headshot in the heat of battle I am not complaining obviously but I know the frustration on that players end because I have been on both sides of this.
@KillerKong06 the tactical portion of this game has always been there not from a Tom Clancy game caliber but it has been useful however I never use cover unless I am under heavy fire and need a second to think of my next move. However any of times I am still hit behind cover when an enemy is standing on level ground and there is no way they are actually hitting me. You add in the aim assist with the gnasher and those close quarter encounters are largely skewed and invalidate the purpose of cover all together. Not to mention the raining of flash bangs which force you out as you get gunned down in a yellow screen where you are unable to do anything except roll. Gnasher has always been a staple of gears and while I understand not everyone likes that style of play it is kind of what separated gears from other shooters, was that fast paced adrenaline rush of a gnasher battle. Of course other weapons should come into play but gnasher should still be a viable option. The cover shooting and holding behind walls waiting for someone to come around the corner is very anti climactic
@xxxGAUNTLETxxx I agree, something has to go I am not sure which but something needs to go.
I turned my kill cam off after TC said it wasn’t accurate. What we see isn’t what happens, so why even look at it. Plus I wanna see who’s trying to clown after I get killed.
Turned mine off as well as well as almost every option I could toggle to off.
I didn’t realise it you turn it off the “kill cam” works like it does in Gears 4. So my no-no’s are not going to waste
I dont like the idea, that the Arcade mode has no playtime to show off…Realy? I´m playing a lot of arcade mode, but my “Versus stats” showing me 0h and only ranked games count the playtime. It is annoying.
That is really Odd. Hopefully its just a UI bug and they are tracking that data on the backend for you and they just need to patch the issue.
Do people still play ultimate edition?
Cam never find a game
TDM is about the only one. I would love to get KOTH games
Two tidbits:
Don’t know why the lancer feels overpowered but it still downs in 11 hits. Wish I recorded it but I lit someone up with an active reloaded magazine and somehow did not down them within 11 hits. Issue with bullet registration.
Second, to all the people who say “there’s too much complaining idk what’s wrong”, the like ratio of the posts that bring up issues about the game have been higher than I’ve ever seen before. It’s not just placebo. Somethings are very off about this game and it would do everyone good to be open minded about what can be done to improve the game. Especially how the gnasher can do damage in the high 90 percents and lets your target eat the shot while they shoot you from the same distance and angle and they kill you in one round. This happens way too often for it to simply be lack of player skill.
I think maybe a lot of problems even with the lancer are hit detection. I’ve been run up on myself as well and blown away while I emptied an active reload clip into someone the. Other times they almost instantly fall. Hit detection may be throwing off all balance adjustments to begin with. However team lancers is an issue. I think it should be more of a suppressive fire weapon than a go to honestly but that is my opinion. You brought up some great points which is why I wanted to have a discussion about this. Hopefully someone from TC sees this and is able to address even if they dont give a direct response atleast they have an idea of where problems may lie.
Mulcher/buzz saw underpowered?
Loosing a 1 VS 1 with the Mulcher against a lancer player?
Wth this ain’t true at ALL
Not so much under powered on thier own opposed to the lancers incredibly quick TTK it leaves them under powered as you are at a disadvantage. Also yes it is true because it happened. You are welcome to disagree with my viewpoints however I think there are clearly issues here.
KOTH seems fairly active at the weekend. I’m in the UK but I gotta switch between US East & West to find matches as EU is always dead.
MP is so frustrating and disappointing so far.
Hit detection drive me crazy. Is it me or the bullets are slightly left from the gun ? I can’t get used to it
Yesterday I even go back to gears 4 for a few games, hit detection was better and consistant which says it all.
I love multiplayer, the only issue ive really had worth complaining about is sometimes my gnasher wont fire when i pull the trigger, happens once or twice every handful of matches. Everything else seems nice and smooth, not sure how they are catoring to new/casual players, ive had zero problems flying through newbies.
Nice one. I will try and get on at some point in the coming evenings
I would rather test this with a friend cause I can not believe than an already spinning mulcher would lose against a lancer…NOT POSSIBLE
I actually uninstalled* Gears 5 yesterday, not in a fit of rage or upset (although I have been there with it) just in the realisation that I am not enjoying the multiplayer at all. I do enjoy Escape but it is very much a one trick Pony. I do not enjoy Horde at all. But the big thing as I say is multiplayer. Arcade is not really my thing. I’m 99.9% a KOTH player.
The experience I get from it is chalk and Cheese when comparing with previous titles. I played about 4 games of KOTH on Gears 3 yesterday (Trenches, Overpass, Thrash and Anvil) all with full teams and luckily a pretty good connection. I loved and love it. I also got 22 waves of Horde played before everyone left!
*…I reinstalled about 4 hours later after a team mate berated me for doing it, and I just need to “git gud”
that may take some time!
Anyway onward and upward and Locust Forever !
I agree with pretty much everything TC mentioned, especially about OP Lancer & hit detection. Sometimes I can’t frag an opponent in close quarters with Gnasher (may be delivering ~95% of dmg), yet there are constant instances when enemies 1 hit K.O. me mid-range with it, and it doesn’t get better with less ping (and I’m not a scientist, but I feel like in 2019 we can expect at least smth to stop being so ping-dependent. Again, if it’s still there on 60 ms ping it’s more of a hitreg trouble, no matter what).
There’s also a thing about placement matches in Ranked, AFAIK those aren’t affected by rating-based matchmaking since people playing those don’t have any ratings to begin with (yet), thus the need to endure & suffer through 5 torture (I mean placement) sessions to get a rank.
But the thing is, since there’s no ‘tier-based’/rating-based matchmaking applied there, the matches become pretty annoying and not fun when one team completely destroys another. I’m not asking for impossible ‘perfectly balanced teams’, I just want the gap to be as small as possible. And some times the gap is freaking huge, and it’s not ‘fun’ at all.
These constant defeats don’t make me wanna improve my skill, all they do is insult me and make me think of uninstalling the game. If these placement matches are here to help the game ‘read’ my performance, I think devs can gather tons of info on that matter with other means instead. E.g. during the campaign, or bot matches - things like shooting accuracy, movement patterns, pickups timing & weapon preferences, may be smth else, I dunno.
If placement matches are so meta and can’t be avoided, then why not apply some sort of a ‘soft’ matchmaking there as well, to even the chances?
To put it short: I believe there are some people out there who are just like me had enough of humiliating defeats now and then (I mean, even in past Gears titles), who don’t feel like getting through it once again. Personally, I admit that it leaves an impact on my ego (wow, shocking!) and drastically hinders my MP experience. With that said, I’d rather go play PvE matches - but oh boy, ToD medals that are still being earned there are so few. We need more medals for bot matches/PvE because as of now it feels like PvE is treated there like some sorta ‘crippled’ version of ‘teh real Gnashers of War multiplaya’, which is ridiculous. Add either more medals in PvE, or make PvE matches, wins and pretty much every scoring activity there count towards PvP, or to phrase it better - towards the Versus progress.
For now I’d rather go and play a bot match than get humiliated by another MLG PRO Gnashing person. I don’t need to ‘git gud’, no thanks, I’m fine ‘as is’, and if the game can’t put me against peeps of my skill (no matter how low it really is), then I’ll stick to bots then. And there’s nothing shameful 'bout it, just make the bot matches as rewarding as PvPs, that’s all.
Just like others had already mentioned here, let players choose what activity they prefer & want to invest into, and reward it - without those greedy re-rolls, pls. I know that 1st re-roll of a day is free, but I still see the whole ‘challenge re-roll’ thing alienating the game.
I agree with it. Having two people fire a Lancer at you is simply a death sentence and like you said, bullet registration is either with you or against you in that scenario. Typically it seems to be against me because I’ll have two or three people turret me with a Lancer and I go down in less than two seconds.
