Movement Mechanics Update - Operation 2

The gnasher should not be able to counter everything, power weapons should be rewarding when obtained. Maybe less durability for the mace so it doesn’t last as long, but its getting to the point that there’s no real reason to fight for other weapons.
Plus how often do you really see chainsaw kills?

This part still needs fixing there’s a big delay when trying to get off a shot and wall bouncing . My gnasher just won’t shoot.

The changes are definitely for the better, but until Gears 5 has a universal control and assist tuning, every mode, every difficulty, I will always consider it an inconsistent mess.

Movement seems to be fine, the shotgun needs to be more reliable for 2-3 shot downs. Most of this stems from pop shotting being nerfed. In gears 4 when you poo shot the cross hairs for the gnasher are there instantly . In gears 5 it takes a second and makes the gnasher less accurate when pop shotting. I blind fire or hard aim more because of this. The gnasher needs to be tweaked to counter the new movement. Slight stopping power can fix this. But make sure there isn’t a bug like in UE where you shoot someone and then they teleport after they got shot.

The gnasher feels so bad right now, it’s insane!! it’s unplayable since the ffa update… FIX IT FAST!!! It does no damage. it was so much better before the update

miss quote…I didn’t say all power weapons,I only said the mace and the chainsaw is a load out but power weapons other than overkill (which should always win )are usually from distance , close quarters battle always has been a gnasher fight that’s what this game is mostly about ,hardshot should stop the easyer ways to kill by a weaker player that’s a skill gap if you fail the stop at the crucial distance you die… SKILL GAP .,

I like the mace offset, not everyone can be a gnasher whore. I shouldn’t have said power weapons I should have just said mace, I think it has its place, just needs to have shorter durability. It last too long. Its almost always positioned in a vulnerable pickup spot so it’s a battle to get it.

My biggest concern is the Gnasher,

Whenever I’m Getting Sweaty in certain movements when I press the Right Trigger my shot never seems to come out… I’ve encountered this issue many times when Wall Bouncing & Strafing in 1v1 situations. Whatever is this Gnasher Delay it needs to stop, lol

As For Movement
I just wish it was faster like 4 lol.

THe game is so trash right now, holy ■■■■!!! It was 500x better before the stupid ffa update. the shotgun doesn’t work at all. fix this ■■■■, im losing my mind

There already is a perfect counter to the mace. And it’s in your starting load out.

It already is that was the whole reason of the update to make al this more fair instead of getting stopped instantly in a hail of bullets

The new movement is a slight improvement from the previous. It feels faster but the actually response time (time it takes from when you press the A button until the slide animation actually begins) still has a very noticeable delay. I did a comparison between 4 and 5 (recorded videos) and 5 yields around 60 more ms of delay than 4. 250ms was the consistent measurement I got for 5 (around 190 for 4). I think this is a big reason why 5’s movement feels very lethargic when compared to 4. 4 is snappier and more connected to the hand.

If I had my way this is an area I would look at. Response time. @TC_Octus

I disagree, and the total lack of Lancers now is the proof. They were a little OP at first, but now their almost pointless. There needs to be some middle ground, I’m tired of being killed by someone in a dead sprint straight towards me with the gnasher, using no cover whatsoever, i dont know if it should be stopping power or a slight damage boost, but it needs just a tiny nudge in my opinion.

I disagree with your disagreement. I think they’re headed in the right direction. A bit more and it’ll be perfect. They should revert to how the lancer was at launch though, if they’re going to keep buffing the movement.

Literally the only thing I’ve noticed that has changed is people with busted internet are all over the damned place moving faster than the game physically allows.

I strafe left, they shoot right and still gib.

I’ve never in my life played a game that made me regret being fortunate enough to afford first world internet.

Probably one of the worst updates ever. Gnasher registration is horrible just like it was in for the first 2 years of gears 4. Also, Why was the movement changed? It was perfect fine where you can have strafe battles and play your own play style. But now!!! You guys want to help noobs get good at the gamer where they can spam A and bounce 20times before I get a shot off AND up A is literally everything in this game AND back A’ing doesn’t register anymore!!! Change the movement to how it originally was!! Even the pros who won the San Diego event want it changed!!!

Good. Listening to the pros is what got us in this mess that is Gears 5 in the first place.

Keep it as is TC! Actually, it wasn’t enough imo. Y’all need to boost the movement a tad more and just remove all shooting delays.

Completely unplayable now. The movement mechanics make it feel like my character is in slow motion compared to before update. I have tried almost all controller sensitivities and nothing I have found helps. Please change it back.
