Movement Mechanics Update - Operation 2

Movement is definitely better. Initially the gnasher felt inconsistent but through a few hours of research, playing online and in single player bot matches I’ve come to see that the Gnasher issue is more server side than the gnasher itself. I played solo horde using the gnasher testing the blind fire and ads shots and everything was hitting, but as soon as I jumped on FFA or any Versus mode the difference was extremely apparent.

I would think it’s the same thing…go slide into cover and watch how it speeds you up a little.

If movement speed is aimed to feel faster and more responsive for gnasher gameplay, stopping power of lancer and assualt rifles should be increased to match it properly.

Movement is better now the delay to fire while coming out of roadie run needs to be removed.

Will lag compensation be addressed? Because it’s really bad right now. I think the movement is okay(GoW3 was better), the real issue is how players are in different points of time when in fights

Love how TC changed Gears and its the community who want Gears to be Gears of War.

Big fan of new movement. I noticed it right away before reading in detail that it was changed.

Feels more natural. Feels like I can have more skilled combat. Sensitivity adjustments actually seem to work now.

As for Gnasher, would still like improvement. Friends are complaining of ghost shots or shots not registering. My experience has been more positive though.

Specifically on gib range. I would like distance to be reduced.

OtherwIse great work. Please continue to improve the game.

I think the up a balance is too much in favour of the aggressor. Gears 4 had it right , Punisment should be possible when you can anticipate the move and get off a shot while they are still sliding to the cover but in 5 it’s like the aggressor gets away with far too much. It might be lag but Gears 4 felt fairer.

I haven’t played but I know you are a shotgun user TC octus. I’ve had experience in Gears PC unreal editor and I worked on stuff, I and some others started at the very beginning seeing the series evolve and devolve and read much of the forums. I liked both warzone and execution for different reasons. I always thought there was way more variety in Gears 1-3 multiplayer than the shotgun in gears 4-5 because of that strong poke distance as it is.

I gradually began to agree with the warzone players and became in favor of a more ranged paintball based cover based shooter because of said changes to shotgun and maps in Gears 4.

Feels way better thanks for listening and putting in non-stop work. Would love gib ranged turned down a little. Also 8 shots back in the gnasher sounds like a pipe dream but i know many core players would love that as well, especially in free for all. Polish out gnasher inconsistencies and we’re set. Overall the game feels better and better as time keeps passing, thanks :slight_smile:

I agree with this, you could predict and get them as late as right when they touch the cover. In 5 feels like you die right before they hit the cover so its almost impossible to counter.

nah its still pretty easy to down someone with the lancer imo

Hard shots needs more power length and a tighter spread (like it has always been this game is just a blind shot game unless your getting drilled by a lancer)
blind shots need less length and power
magnetism deleted
cover /wall bounce needs to be less simplified the camera needs to play more of a roll here, as in it needs to be pointed at the cover some what that you want to go to (like g4) rather than just using the strafe to bounce, this will create the skill gap, plus the camera needs lowered and further away .( basically just use the tuning from g4 it took long enough to tune it to what we all liked/accepted anyway)

the Gnasher needs to be able to stop a mace or chainsaw with a hardshot at just right distance before the chainsaw sucks you in like the world best vacuum, or the mace’s spring loaded leap toward a player…but really the mace just needs deleted as it does not suit or fit in a gears game, just to remind TC its a 18+ rated game, replace it with the hammer of dawn maybe since the maps are so open.
