Good to know it still rewards the stars - But to have a bug like this where they don’t show is really pathetic after the amount of other issues thats wrong with the game.
Is it just me or does it feel like the game has been out for a year or longer with the severe lack of content and issues with the game? Feel like they need a huge turnaround on the game to keep people playing that arent GoW fans
The 50 Past Hives medal awarded 5 stars. The 50 Acts medal it was replaced with only gave me 3. I feel slightly cheated.
I’m sure it was intended to be this way to mask the stealth nerfs.
Im not sure ill have time to up my characters and cards to max before the end of operation 1. I certainly know i won’t be able to master a horde map. Hell im not even sure ill be able to master a horde map PERIOD as now it seem much less fun without all the stuff we had before (hammer strikes, sniper strikes, man turrets etc) The sentries seem much nerfed too. But the kicker is the whole “iron man rule”, like seriously?? On hardest difficulty? We barely did it on hardcore for the achievement on 4 with our cards pretty high. I don’t want to play 35 or 45 waves only to fail and having to restart it all… that sucks. Too long.
So i think ill miss on a few of the stuff given by the medals.
But im glad to learn that the medals still give stars, would had been really annoying if it wouldn’t have been the case.
Chaps made a point in one of his recent videos saying that you cannot help but feel TC are being sneaky and at times, feel like they’re trying to get one over on us slip things past us. This is one of those times. It’s so sly and underhanded to introduce stealth nerfs like this.
It’s kind of weird not seeing the stars, I wonder if it’s a bug or a feature? I want to see how many stars I get for medals. They also changed the graphics, didn’t they? Looks a bit more…ugly now imho.

Abuse? You realize this is all optional content in two games already filled with a lot content (Yes, Gears 5 even in its current state does have a lot of content).
Listen, I get it, the store prices are overly inflated, but no one is forcing you to buy anything, not to mention they’ve already acknowledged the feedback and are actively making changes.
What else do you want? There is a difference between legitimate criticism and incessant whining/false accusations.
At the end of the day this is a business. This model has been around for a while and now it’s making its way into Gears. This is the current landscape of the gaming industry right now and there isn’t much we can do about it. All we can hope for is that TC acknowledges the feedback and does their best to find a middle ground, and it looks like that is what they are trying to do.
I had seven stars into a rank. Major II… did two “mini quests” of three points each and also the completion of “here to help” (jack assists medal). came from the Horde to find only six stars progressed. I don’t believe they grant stars since Oct 1st update.
I did 49 and the 50th past hive only gave me 3 stars since the medal changed to acts instead of hives .
I totally agree, it sucks to have your efforts not matter, even though we can get the stars we lost through just another set of dailies.
Well, now wins in Versus Ranked are not properly registered.
2 wins in Guardian, Medal shows 1/10…
Same for Dailies, sometimes progression is not registered when you go back to menu after the completion notification.
What is content to you? If you mean the campaign, versus, escape, and horde, then yeah I agree there is a lot of content at launch.
If content is only the skins and versus then I have to disagree. 4 launched with a lot more skins.
I love the tour of duty system though and I totally understand the business model.
As to what I want, I want better patch notes. I want to be told when they nerf Mac’s escape cards instead of finding out myself. I want to be told when they change medal requirements and reduce the star payout when I was at 49/50 past hives completed.
Maybe, but when I completed it it showed 3 stars on the mission complete screen.
I just want more transparency from the devs whenever they change part of a game I play is all.
Like when they changed the lancer gl spawn on Vasgar to incendiaries. They told us that, I want more of that.
That’s what I’m saying, I just got the notification, not the stars.
Yes exactly I’m referring to the plethora of great modes that are available, in addition to all of the smaller content.
It’s a big. It’ll be fixed. Should be fixed a lot faster but you know how TC is.
