Ranked sucks bro i already dropped to a silver 3 from a diamond 2 in a matter of 2 days… Game just sucks u shouldn’t lose any points for ■■■■■■■ teammates suckin … Sorry i cant carry noobs every game … Ranked is not easier at all…against 5 man stacks? Even if i get mvp and if we manage to win …get 0 points… What a joke
They made it a little harder as a solo player to gain the ranks by weighting the W/L more over personal performance with the last update (last week or 2). If you haven’t already I’d look at this topic here: Big changes to the Ranking system
I honestly agree that you shouldn’t be losing any significant amount of points because your team isn’t up to snuff. The post says before you’d likely been seeing negatives points on a W because you lost rounds to a team predicted to lose 2-0. That explained a lot to me especially before when I’d put up like 12 die once or twice, happen to lose the round but score 0 or negative points.
I think the problem there was always that they’re weighting W/L for the round more over your personal contribution toward the W. Individuals were/are being punished more for not meeting the systems round win prediction over actual performance. Instead of addressing this they just double downed and made it so all those choked rounds matter even more than before now.
The one thing they did to try to make it a little better is if you lose these predicted round Ws , happen to go negative in points but win the match, the total will default to 0 lost. Problem is, winning the match might prevent points loss but personal performance no longer alleviates punishment as well on a round/match lost with the new 80/20 split.
I don’t really think I like these changes much at all but I’ll have to play more to have a definitive opinion.
Love an explanation for this one… What if i actually beat them both rounds i mean its not based off individual performance now but i get trash cans on my team so i derank 8 times? Point system is completely random 3000 points? Since when can you get that much at onyx 3? Then negative 6500 for a loss round pretty sure we were unfavored to begin with… 0 points? Refund my time invested cause i lose sleep playin this stupid game when i got work the next morning
I think the number it chooses for the rounds to make the end result 0 is random.
I haven’t tried rank yet so idk what happens in that scenario atm but that current screenshot is showing a round lost.

We barely lost that round it came down to a 2 v 1 with 30 seconds yet an of course idiots cant clutch 30 sec of waitin … Dude on the other team said well there goes my masters and then randoms completely choked… The ranking system was bad before but now its even worse just saying i dont have fkin 4 friends available at all times to win both rounds

Personal performance? It only accounts for 20% of the points gained or 20% of the points you don’t lose.
Its bad when you need to outplay high pings to over 50 percent of the time im battling ping or a completely stacked team thats all followin each other… If its not based on individual performance anymore then whats the point in playing? Like i said i dont have 4 friends always available to play because they are busy
Honestly, I just played my first two rank games in a couple weeks and I managed to get back to Masters. Now I was already pretty close before hand and I didn’t really need to gain too many points but it felt easier for whatever reason. The 1 round I lost I got -1 points for and I had a teammate quit out after.
I think before they changed the rank tier thresholds to be static it also would’ve made that a lot harder. Prior to the change the more people that moved into the Master range the more points were needed to reach it until you pretty much needed to hit the 20,000 cap to get there. The leaderboard was pretty much ‘alive’ because it was based on what percentile you fall in relative to how many points everyone else has.
(Just wanted add that this actually made it more difficult to get to Masters toward the end of the operation than it was in the beginning since more people were Masters and way more people were partying up to try to clench the rank rewards before they were gone.)
I think you’ll be fine if you choose to keep playing but maybe try taking a couple days off to give yourself a refresh.
