Haha, we tend to use marks that are funny. I use the Duke controller currently but I’d use the cat so I could say “P” and another uses the poop to say the “S” word.
I swear we’re all mature adults. We just find some of this funny online, lol

If TDM wasn’t gonna comeback it would have shown how Tone Deaf TC was to the Playerbase.

It’s already confirmed that TDM will not be in Ranked Op 4. They will be re-assessing/improving TDM and Escalation and potentially re-adding them to Ranked in the future.
Similar process to what they are doing with Guardian. The new version will launch with Op 4.

That was one of the reasons I never really enjoyed TDM in ranked, it played like Execution with respawns at a high enough level.
Like, my first ranked TDM in 3 months was a 25 minute match where people camped for most of it. I mean, wasn’t that the main reason Execution was taken out of esports and replaced with Escalation?
I play Gears because I want to have fun, I imagine sitting at Statue on Foundation with a Lancer/Snub out for 20 minutes isn’t many peoples idea of fun.
Or maybe I was placed in the wrong end of an elaborate triple or nothing $10,000 wager, it would explain why the Myrrah kept laughing.

Don’t really care to be honest.
Primarily played TDM, Exec and 2v2 for ranked in S1-2 but as of OP3 I pretty much don’t play any ranked at all.
I’ve had the most fun w/ FFA and event playlist (namely Golden Gun, Classic Exec and also OSOK to some degree).
Wanted to play a lot more Gridiron but early operation network troubles and all that talk about the rank system being weird for it made me forgo that. Also, I’m pretty sure Gridiron wasn’t running ranked with competitive settings (at least early on) like Execution was so that experience, in my mind, may have felt less than ideal.
Pretty much forgot about it entirely.
Side note: I think Gridiron could be a lot more fun in general if more standard Execution power weapon swaps were in play more often if not most the time.

I think TDM’s pretty competitive.
You have to watch your lives. Matches are short too.
It’s not that campy because one team will have snipe & one will have an explosive. & it’s not like infinite ammo.
& once the lives are gone it’s done.
To add it’s more valuable to win the 1v’s in a TDM mode. It’s all about winning the initiative instead of infinite spawns…

Bad idea. For a lot of people, TDM IS Gears. Myself included, until the lockdown, when I decided to take up different things and grew to love escape too. Lots of shooters have TDM-type modes and for good reason, because it’s a time-tested, proven mode in shooters. I’m afraid the reaction to this will not be good. Instead of having the open mind to take up a different mode, it appears a lot of folks would rather just play something else for their TDM fix.

I mean I can play king. I hit masters in less than 10 matches but it’s just so long. Matches can be 40 min long. TDM is like 20 minutes.
& I don’t like the short spawn advantage. Rather have a fair game mode where everyone starts off the same & battle to last lives…
Grid iron isn’t fun for me at all. But they’re pushing that down our throats over classic modes.

How ‘good’ the TDM experience can be largely has a lot to do with map layout/design and the power weapons that are placed on it.
I don’t think they have much to work with but they’re welcome to try I guess.

On the stream they just said they’re making tweaks to TDM and Guardian and they “might” make a return to ranked in the future if they feel they did the modes justice.

First they took away warzone, which I truly enjoyed for 10 years. I didn’t want to play tdm but it grew on me then they take that away too.

I mean any mode can be casual if you use your logic.
Two days ago I got a person scored 82 points on King of the Hill.
Same logic as a guy who burns 12 lives.
TDM puts more emphasis on winning your 1v’s because at some point what you do will determine how the whole round or match goes.
It’s not campy & if it’s campy you push. You only allow it to be campy if you camp yourself.
