Operation 4 has done nothing but make TDM worse. Matches are more frequently lopsided with rampant quitting. Matches start with incomplete teams. You will frequently drop into matches that are almost done. TDM was fine how it was in ranked, otherwise it wouldn’t have been such a popular mode,
TDM has been degraded to being less competitive, and more imbalanced than it previously was. The lack of rounds is egregious,and makes the mode feel less Gears of War. People liked TDM in ranked due to it focusing on your combat skill. Additionally, team play was an essential part of map and power weapon control.
King of the Hill matches can frequently be very long. In 2v2 gnasher, losing your teammate ruined the match. TDM ranked was popular because it was accessible, competitive and not overly time consuming. I still don’t see what was wrong with ranked TDM.

remember too much playlists will take quite a while to find matches
I had 1 minute wait times and usually started in less than that. Even at off hours it would very rarely take more than 90 seconds.
At least there would be a playlist I actually want to play. I don’t mind having to wait an additional 20 seconds.

for me and a lot of people this is the game mode. (note im not saying anything bad about the other game modes, before anyone takes some sort of um-bridge),
im not a fan other the other game modes (i can play them and can get a high rank),
for me this has just ruined the game,
can we have it back?

you have 2 points,
Any game mode could have a casual playlist. However, by nature, they are all suited to ranked.
Consider if you are on a team with novices against a team of excellent players… well no one is going to enjoy that. the idea of ranking is to try and match up teams that will have a fun/competitive match. the concept is nothing new (and applied to other games and game modes for this reason)
the 2nd point you make, I agree with. however, I am not sure how to get the attention of TC, As the decision to remove Ranked TDM, does not make sense, where are the FACTS (states which show popular game-modes or reasoning)

Their reasoning wasn’t to do with popularity, which is why it “doesn’t make sense”. It was removed cause they had issues on how to work it into the new Ranking system and thus why they done said it would be back down the road after making some adjustments.

They have never actually confirmed that it is coming back though, They have always used qualifiers when discussing it, and for some reason seem to think it is quite funny they removed one of the most popular ranked game modes.
No one asked them for a ranking system that is apparently so complex that they can’t manage to make it work with TDM despite it working fine for 2v2 Gnashers and FFA.
And on top of it they managed to ruin performance in exchange for… fewer options than we had at launch almost a year ago? Their explanations don’t make sense and are intentionally vague.
The Gears of War property needs to be assigned to a different developer.

I Started one of these threads as well, but I dont think they posted it because there are aleady so many.
I don’t understand why it was removed. People were obviously playing it and I dont see the harm in leaving it.
additionally single round quickplay sucks and it seems as though the new maps are not an option ( i haven’t even seen them in voting.)
Overall it seems like an effort to push players away from tdm for some reason.
I don’t get it at all.

I think you missed the point of a ranking system, and have now interjected why you like KOTH over TDM, of which you are free to like one more than the other
It does not matter if you have played 2 game modes or achieved epic ranks in all of the available modes, (does it matter that i have played all of them, I have, but that does not change the following?)
The ranking for (insert game mode), is to have fair/competitive match with all playing, If we have a team of noobs playing then they should not be put against a team of wall-bouncing experts.
it is obvious, when we have miss matched teams, and when that happens, no one enjoys the match or game
(also all the game modes are objective oriented, If there were not then there clearly would not be a winner.)

They removed it so they can fix it.
Everyone keeps posting asking the same question over & over… Do y’all watch the streams at all? The one on Thursday, the dev actually mentioned that right now they’re looking at the life pool in deathmatch, because “it’s unfair for one player to be burning through lives causing the whole team to lose”. Based on that I can only assume they may have an individual life count. I, for one, think that’s a great idea. I’m sure many others would agree.
TBH, i do not think the majorty of uses watch the developer stream and they are not on this forum either.

“Team Deathmatch & Escalation are being removed from Ranked”
“We will use the preseason to gather data and feedback to validate which modes will provide the best overall Ranked experience.”
This suggests that they are evaluating the situation, and if we remain quiet how can they listen that we want it back? (have i missed something… because its not obvious what i can do to get it back, if that is to do nothing then thats cool TC please just say that)

I’m aware the official release notes just says it’s being removed, however, it was discussed during the pvp stream last week, and then mentioned again on the one Thursday.
I will admit tho, I’m not sure at what point during the stream it’s mentioned, as I’m usually playing while I have the stream running.
