Well a master player hits masters every season, in any mode. It shouldn’t be impossible if you’re a master player.

A lot of people haven’t hit masters every season but if you can do it it doesn’t mean it’s easy. Just means you’re a master player.

& 5v5 masters in king is equally camping & just as much as a cross feast.

Like in a real fight, it’s fast if both people are skilled. One slip up & it’s done. That’s TDM. You look for the weakness & expose. Maybe the lives could be 30 or 50 but it doesn’t matter.

This whole notion that one person drains the lives is a testament to the ranking system, which is getting fixed so you can’t really blame that on TDM.

In king you get so many opportunities & yes I sacrifice myself to break & I try to take 3 people down so when my back up arrives it’s easier for them.

I don’t always charge alone but you’d like me to be on your team in king.

Still don’t understand why you hate a mode you don’t care about.

Nothing to do with ranking system.

It’s the matchmaking system that’s broken / non-existent.

I’m going to press X on that one.

I don’t “hate” the mode.

I just don’t think it belongs in ranked.

To me king is noob friendly because of infinite spawns & random respawn locations to power weapons. But not saying it’s not untalented either.

It’s not hard to hit masters than it would on tdm. Least from a 3x masters.

You obviously don’t like tdm. Most king players don’t because you get punished if you charge like you would king.

I don’t mind king. I’m not gonna hate on a mode because I play TDM.

The funniest thing is calling King of the Hill competitive but TDM not based on camping alone!
Does KOTH Speedrun, Gears 4 style ring a bell?

I play better on TDM because I have infinite patience.

But it’s boring.

It’s slow.

It’s campy.

It’s definitely not a ranked mode.

That’s all there is to it.

After seeing the ranking system the explanation that they gave for the removal of Ranked TDM makes no sense,

I’ve tried to explain this to him on a previous thread numerous times but he made it seem like I was attacking the player base that enjoys TDM.

They’ll add TDM back in, I’m sure of it. But once they tweak it in some way or another to make it feel more competitive. Not really sure how they’ll do that, but I guess anything’s possible.

I didn’t flock to TDM nor KOTH when MY mode got removed from Ranked.

The ranking was broken so I didn’t really flock to anything, I’ll probably be playing a lot of Ranked Gridiron though once the they take away the event. Clearly I’m not going to play anything else as long as my mode is available lol

I mean I shook it up every now and then when it WAS ranked, but since I know it’s there limited time. Not wasting any time elsewhere.

Regardless I’m in the camp that agreed it needs to be casual quickplay. I like TDM, but it does belong there… I’m not biased, I’d be 100% ok if the current Guardian was there in it’s OWN list(not sharing with KOTH and TDM).

What I will agree with though, is they shouldn’t have the 1 round thing… that made sense for the quickplay version when it was also in Ranked… now that it’s your only way to play it, it should be the standard 3 rounds.

Don’t blame you, TDM does belong in ranked though. I’d take Guardian instead but at the moment there’s nothing I’ll be playing in ranked.

Most complaints about TDM are that “It’s too campy”

Execution was a campers paradise and that was in Gears ranked for years.

So I’m not really buying that arugement of “TDM is too campy” when clearly people have given Execution the pass for years.

And TDM matches are More Swingy than they are Campy.

They’ve relegated it to a “who cares about that garbage” game mode, lol

Pretty f’ed up and a spit in the face to Epic

i’ve sat in these rolling matches dealing with 2v4s and 1v3s and just never really get a full 5v5 going with all solid players…

sad day for TDM

Leaving the KOTH vs TDM debate aside, It’s strange that they would remove what is arguably their most popular mode from ranked. It was the most popular mode in G3 by far when numbers were posted and I presume the same for G4 and G5. The outpouring of posts and threads on its removal suggests this as well.

You’d think they would want to communicate well to their fanbase about why it’s being removed, and if and when it may return, maybe in a pop-up message in the game for example. Maybe, it’s explained elsewhere but not everyone devotes the time to look and why should they need to? It’s a game and a distraction from work /school where one actually needs to pay attention.

At the very least I want TC to make these 2 round wins instead of the 1. They upped the life pool but these games are still going by really quick to the point it feels like you’d think you’re playing co-op. This just doesn’t feel the same, whether people want to admit it or not. Id like it back in ranked here sooner than later.

I agree with some points.

But the whole purpose to having a ranked game mode is so people who play the mode can play with others competitively.

I think it’s a cop out that TC says it’s not competitive.

They should leave all our modes alone.
