I’ll be nice & not tear you up to ribbons on why social doesn’t compare to ranked. Also why having a team mandatory for ranked is bad.

What you’re referring to is UMG. In UMG you have a team you play for cash. Go to UMGgaming.com. Some are free open tournaments for cash & some you place credits to play for a larger pool of money.

So why does anyone play ranked? For starters it brings in people that want to play competitive with a full team versus a full team.

As to social anyone can jump in & out. Sometimes have 7+ players just jumping in & out of the lobby mid match.

A new player can play & never stand a chance. I know I’m a god in social which is why I don’t care for it.

So why ranks in ranked? Because we want to play with people around the talent to make it competitive.

It’s that simple.

The mode is called: TEAM death match.

You wall bouncing, glitchy, lag using…players…want everything to be catered to you. There’s FFA for those of you who want to rank up but play alone, There’s Gnashers only for those of you who want to play “Gnashers of war”, KOTH for those of you who like that kinda thing.

Why does TDM have to limit people playing together in teams? I’ve played gears since 1, fell off, came back for the pandemic started connecting with a team online and now all that time we’ve been hanging out playing gears enjoying ourselves has to come to an end because people who wanna wall bounce and win everything using that cheap ■■■ tactic keep complaining. Now half my team is in destiny because the devs cant get their ■■■■ together.

I don’t care that it’s 4v4 now, Just let me play with my friends. Gears of War is a TEAM based game, why is this hard?

Since there’s 2 levels of FFA for some reason, let’s get 2 levels of TDM. One for people who don’t mind teams, and one that doesn’t. Call it TDM classic. I might as well shoot my shot here, as it seems only the noisy ones get their preferences met in this game.

Also, just in case u missed it: wall bouncing is glitch and an exploit, most people who do it, suck and I’ve proven it time and time again, because they cannot win in a battle if theirs no wall around, i have zero respect for your style. No hate, just no respect.

Wall bouncing isn’t a glitch or exploit.

It’s a by product.

You have to hold the controller differently to be good at it for long periods of time,

The game cannot keep up with the movement so the shots don’t look real,

It is an exploit, that is now blessed by the devs.
I don’t care so much about that as I do about the teams part of this, but I had to put it in.

But running while crouched looks real?

It was blessed by the devs when they kept it for the 2nd game

Just put it back to normal. No game has ever been able to effectively separate players based on skill, it just is what it is. The whole point of having ranked tdm is to have proper 5v5 teams where everyone will at least try. Now it’s drop in drop out 5v2 4v3 5v1, everyone is afk, 10 people leave and join before the end of a match. For every step forward you take 10 steps back.

I agree with tdm being set normally.

But I disagree with wall bouncing being a glitch.

It’s simple to apply.

Wall bouncing has always been since the first gears so it’s not something new …

If you can’t wall bounce in pvp you’re cooked.

Like going into a fight & not jabbing.

Seriously TC, have you not received enough complaints about how bad casual TDM is and that we don’t care for the changes you’re making. I play with more than 2 friends in a party and casual lobbies are always uneven. Just release your crap so we can tell you it sucks like every other change you make for god knows what reason and you can change it back to something resembling classic gears. From now on just throw out a survey before making a change or something because everything you guys have implemented has been universally despised by the fans.

The title update was delayed til next tuesday, patch notes coming this thursday.

The update doesn’t come out as soon as hits one minute past midnight.

Most updates happen around 10AM TC time, Its 7am TC time currently.

Edit: Sometimes it can take a small amount of time to push the update out too, so I would expect at some point in the next 3-4 hours.

The updates usally go out at 10 am PST. This has been know since Gears 4. Its not like the clock hits 12 am then BOOM update

God damn, I’ve mainly been playing KOTH and haven’t touched TDM at all until now since op4

Finally played my first game

All I gotta say it’s good to be back.

It’s usual problems are still there, that one garbage teammate who dies and wastes lives, Camp heavy even more now with the inclusion of 4 players. Spamming of power weapons.

But ■■■■, playing at my own pace, nothing beats that.

With stacks pretty much dead I’m having a blast so far.

Well, so far I’ve stopped playing altogether because me and my friends got tired of KOTH and we can’t rank with TDM anymore… I honestly don’t get what people were complaining about if the throwing and spawn camping is still the same issue… I mean, it’s not team deathmatch anymore but a pumped up wingman at this point
