640 day ban is absolutely ridiculous, I dont care If he quit 1000 games in a row, the game might as well be uninstalled at that point.
Do it, uninstall the game!

I quit 2 or 3 games since launch
People should be given warnings before issuing them a 639 day ban, that’s just nonsense. I’ve had people quit on me in close games that were winnable and had my rank effected because of it and it is infuriating. But given the current state of the game since release with EU players being put on US servers at 120 ping, why are people going to sit around for 20 minutes for that? In those circumstances I can understand someone quitting the match.
20 quit matches in the same day is unacceptable. But still think these people should be issued warnings first before such drastic action is taken.

He should quit. Screw that! He played for a game that hardly works or is fair. Multiplayer is broken! They match you against diamond players when you are bronze and just starting out. How is that fair or fun. They took his $60, have him a crappy bug infested game then told him he can’t play what he played for, you should sue. Class action lawsuit! That has to be criminal
Your rank doesn’t matter. They been tossing it around for every body how they see fit. They are screwing people and I can imagine some people at TC are going to be fired soon.
He played for it. That’s robbery! Give me your $60 and now you can’t play because we put you against players that have been playing Gears 10 years all the time and you supposed to sit there and get your butt kicked for the course of these 30-45 minute matches. Im a veteran Gear and a diamond player and I have teammates that seem like they don’t even know what a lancer is. It’s sickening and TC will lose all their credibility from this horrible crap debut

I gotta call BS on anyone getting these bans and saying I barely quit… I get disconnected… I’ve crashed out of probably a dozen matches due to the stupid gw502 error. I restart my gpu and jump right back in. I haven’t had a ban yet.

Well, if that one person quit 18 / 21 games and got a 639 day ban, this guy must of done something nearly the same.
I do love that they’re penalizing people for leaving now, but we all know 639 is a joke lol. The max should be a week+.
Hopefully, if quitters see the tweet or this post, they realize that walking away to do something once the match starts or quitting the game because you want to play something else is not something you should do in ranked. Ever…
I think the numbers are part of an error or they have been manipulated with. Otherwise he has done something worse than being an avid quitter. Come on, 2 years suspension for quitting, naah I am not buying it.

Don’t think so. When someone posted their 600+ days ban on Twitter, TC called them out and said that the individual had quit 18/21 escalation matches in just one day, so imagine how many he quit since launch. If it was an error, they wouldn’t have responded that way imo.

I’m anxious to see how long I have. I was doing Daily Objective weeks ago for Ring Captures and was booted out for no reason, halfway through. It couldn’t be my connection because I’m hard wired. On Main Menu, I was still connected online and Daily Objective completed from Ranked KOTH. But the game instantly asked me to rejoin. I was like, “Hell nah” cos I already done Daily Objective and wanted to move on to next one to save time. Either way, I haven’t quit once from maybe 50+ Ranked games I’ve done for 6/6 Ranked Medals and their 10/10 Win Medals. So I don’t think it’ll be that bad, right?
My question is, what’s the suspension for a single penalty offense? Still 15 minutes like Gears 4?

Well the way they explain it is for every quit, the penalty gets harsher. So for example, when you quit the first time, you get 10min ban, second time 30min ban, and so on and so forth. Mind you those values aren’t accurate, just used them as examples.
Yep, and you can reset your “quit debt” back down to the minimum by actually completing matches. It doesn’t just keep increasing indefinitely, as long as you’re not quitting, waiting for suspension then quitting again lol.
At least this is how I understand it to be.
