I was banned in Gears 4 a few times for “quitting”. I never quit. I have staying in on games Gears, COD, etc. when the game was broken and I was getting hammered. I was stuck once on COD, could not move, and just died and died and stayed it. I hate quitting because it is over quick and I can just find another match. Generally not the fault of other players when the match is screwed. Even with my good ping and stuff I would hit issues at times as would others in these matches. I would not quit even if they did.

But in 4 it dropped the server. Literally all 5 of us and some on the other team were kicked. Said something about the match. Messaged a couple on the other team to verify. Yep, we were all kicked and I got a 30 minute ban. Only player on my team to get that so they left and played something else. Happened to me a couple times and to others I played with a couple times.

In Gears 5 we have been disconnected. I was disconnected a time or two. Never a timed ban or anything. But not may fault I was disconnect. My connection was fine and I had a great ping near 20. It was fine. The game just kicked me. The real telling thing was I was in a match with a player and they were kicked from the winning team in the second round while being top lobby. Doubting they intentionally left.

I am all for quit banning. But then I see people literally having issues with only the Gears servers. I was kicked from an escalation the other day as it started. Actually Gears 5 just locked and crashed. I have not had this issue before this with games I have been playing that are installed and have not had it since.

“Imagine how desilusional” you can be to avoid buy a 30 meters ETHERNET-CABLE that cost 10 dolars…. “Oh no i need play on wifi then lag with 150 ping the match for everyone”. They should not even allow you play WIFI on “ranked” on first place…

They should SHARE the LEAVER-PENALTY on PC-HARDWARE/CONSOLE-HARDWARE to get ride of quiters once for all

If you LEAVE a match your entire XBOX is banned 30 minutes so swaping profiles will do Nothing

If you LEAVE a match your entire PC is banned 30 minutes so swaping another account will not work anymore

You are totally right with the wifi to be honest these users can’t spend 10 usd on a 30 meters ethernet is insane

Also I believe that TC needs to figure out how to discern a legit quit and a DC from a server crash or something. It’s very disheartening to hear that entire lobbies get dissolved by the system but then people get banned. They shouldn’t be handing out 2 years bans if this kind of stuff is happening.

I have played with kids that get on with the game in a mature manner, and I’ve had adults swearing, burping, chewing down the mic, being disruptive in horde etc.

As for custom group ? Totally agree, I have sessions where it’s all adults and the discussion is not for children on the odd occasion.

If this was an error on TCs account then that sucks. But if this is the punishment for toxic quitters in gears 5. Then right on TC. I applaud you guys. Keep up the good work.

i just got banned 30 mins for leaving a lobby after two ranked tdm matches. they are banning for leaving lobbys as well?like i hit continue playing and while waiting in the lobby was like nah time for lunch and they banned me 30 mins. it’s a lobby isn’t that the point that you can leave and then they just add someone new?

The whole banning thing is getting way out of hand. I have heard of players getting dumped by the servers and receiving a ban. I understand that there are some career players that are too concerned about their win loss ratio, but they need to quit banning players for every little detail. Especially seeing how I have been having a hard time trying to find players that I know willing to play.

If they can make it so the system detects a server issue versus an intentional disconnect, then that would be an improvement. But sketchy internet at home disconnecting you? That’s on you. Otherwise there’s nothing to stop those quitters from just turning off their router or whatever to preserve their rank.

And it 100% should not apply to anything but Ranked - though that said, I’ve had just about enough of people dropping out of Horde groups (AFTER the lobby). And it should never apply to quitting out of a lobby either - only once in game.

Aside from that, I’m all for two year bans for people who quit 18 of 21 matches in a day. But I also agree with their decision to rescind the bans with a warning once. Now everyone is aware of the consequences, and there’s no excuses.

Kinda reminds me of logging on to gears 3 only got to rank 13 then went on the next day and was perma banned. Favourite gears and still banned or from what google says its a ban sad times :frowning:

Do you even get a message you are banned ? have been unable to get a ranked or arcade for 3 weeks now on the crap aussie servers. 10 minutes looking for a match ill quit and go to horde , escape or vs ai and takes 1 minute on average to find a match.
