Loading screens too slow

Why is it too slow to load the main menu? It wasn’t supposed to be like that. The past few weeks, my game is taking a loooong time to load the screen. I wasn’t experiencing this kind of problem before, it started all the sudden.

Loading screens too slow between matches, or after leaving a match n going back to main menu. It’s like a turtle walking.

Turtle screen loading.

Do you have a lot of memory or captures?

If you’re on Xbox

What do you mean it wasn’t suppose to be like that? You play on a Series X or the regular One X? Big difference between the two. If on the One X, did you have a SSD installed on it?

I’ve had this problem since some time mid way through operation 4. I’m playing on pc on a ssd and more than 50% of the time I take minutes to load to main menu or back into lobbies after matches. I’m usually twice as fast to load into games and back to lobbies etc compared to xbox.

It seems to be completely random and but feels like it’s getting worse. I have reinstalled the game and it has not made any difference.

I also play on PC. It’s unsual.

Just launched the game this morning to play a few matches. I made breakfast for two people, ate, took out the trash, cleaned the living room, brought a few things in from the garage, started the laundry…come back in room to see that it still hasn’t gotten to the damn title screen yet. TC doesn’t know how to optimize for PC.

The OP5/DLC update has effected something and it will take ages to load up at times.

I have found that a reboot can help and not running other launchers (Steam, Epic Game Store, Blizzard launcher)

I don’t expect TC to ever fix it either

Slow loading makes sense on a Xbox One. But with a Series X pushing 5GB/s SSDs and PCs with similar spec m.2 drives, having the game boot with the slow ice cracking splash screen for 45 seconds followed by another 50+ seconds of the Gear icon spinning waiting for the main menu to be active is embarrassing to watch. Like buying a sports car to drive in only 20mph zones. Quick Resume on Series X helps (now that it actually works for Gears 5) but doesn’t fix the basic issue of the game loading slow.

I found I had issues before op 5. I hoped the op 5 update would help but it’s worse. I’m old fashioned and close every possible app/program when playing games, to keep resources available but it makes no difference.

I played for about 4 hours last night - 3 horde frenzies and some versus, with no loading issues. The day before was awful.

I will.do a restart every time I want to play and see how it goes.

It’s probably connecting to the servers and passing data back and forth after /before matches that is slowing it down. TC server hosting isn’t great. Seen issues with the game lagging and jittering at end of match screens.
