Del still had a purpose in the story as the writers had decided that he team up with Kait for the next act.
You get what I mean. I donât view Delâs chances of making it as very high when JD seems to be the choice that makes more sense for the story.
Of course, but itâs not that a different character couldnât have covered that spot either. From a development standpoint, very little really happens with Del after Act 1. And from what Iâve gathered, he also was alongside Kait for the majority of the four months between Act 1 and 2, for things like them trying to convince the Outsider villages to go to the COG for safety.
A mechanic, and driver, not an engineer(get your facts right?). Unless those are somehow the same thing. And the COG apparently sent some kind of convoy over to the village, not that I know whether it had any wheeled vehicles in it or not and how it got there so quickly(if it hadnât been on the way there for a while already). So she couldâve been part of that. As for what sheâd be doing in the village itself, well, either âherdingâ the Outsiders there to the trucks if there were any, or to see whatâs going on inside, given that she would care for Kait if there was a friendship between the two of them that had formed, if she didnât have an explicit desire to join Kait in the Outsider villages for whatever reason and was already in the Riftworm village before the Swarm attack. but itâd still have to be authorized by⌠well, whoever does that stuff. As for why sheâd go with Kait for the rest of Act 2, what I figured would be Kait not really being pro-COG having some influence on Lizzie which could make her decide to not follow JDs order. But this is all speculation. Waste of time.
Besides, what tells you she never goes on combat duty or other activities for the COG? Del also has all the looks of an engineer, but heâs not just sitting around tinkering with things all the time. Maintaining vehicles and other COG equipment wouldnât be what Lizzie does 100% of the time. Just because we only see her in an evacuation convoy once doesnât mean she would never go on combat duty. Youâre making an assumption without even knowing everything she does or did as part of her military service.
And âThis character has a cool introâ is vastly oversimplifying things. If you think thatâs the only reason Iâd want her around it couldnât be further from the truth, and you didnât really learn much from all the arguing above in this thread.
Isnât that like, obvious. Of course not everyone cares, I donât state thoughts to claim they are universal truths. Sorry, but youâve been stating plenty of obvious things with no meaning. Iâm getting slightly tired of that.

Well, her in-game description states sheâs a mechanic and a driver(referring to the various ones like character and PvE description).
I thought Adam was made out to be the smartest, but then again, he wasnât a Gear.
Well Adam was a Gear and yes the smartest, but Baird wears that coat now. I was referring to the characters we have now chronologically.
Like Baird, Del and Lizzieâwell, Lizzie no more.

I thought Adam did fight as a Gear at some point, maybe the Pendulum War.
There was even an Adam Fenix character skin in Gears 3.
But then, thatâs not what this thread is about.
Itâs not like I remember every small bit of the Gears lore perfectly well. I forgot about that.
And we can argue about Lizzie all we want but I doubt itâs going to change anyoneâs opinion or TCs bad decision to kill her off.
