My opinion is it’s just a game for everyone to enjoy and play with. If everything is restricted like limited emotes, it’s not fun.
Well, maybe some players like me like to abuse the emotes because I like their voice line.
Annoying？I don’t really think the abuse of emotes makes people mad or get tilted. It depends on how the situation use.
What people should do are to accept this phenomenon instead of requesting TC to do something (which affects you emotionally). However, it should be an option for you to mute player’s emotes, which I absolutely agree, if you don’t really like it.
Giving option is always the Best Solution instead of restricting them.
Tbh I don’t mind the emotes an actual decent addition though some are questionable like the night fever dance one.
People will always take the piss spamming but certain ones are very useful for communication and other ones are just hilarious to use like the crying face when you’ve bodied someone who’s been doing your head in all game
Should be an option to turn them off or something well the voice ones anyway
I don’t give a crap if the emotes have swears in them. It’s still part of the character’s personality. I just hate the spammy and interruptible nature of these emotes.
During summer I planted tomatoes and the neighbours sprayed their plant killing chemicals over the fence, I needed to communicate it with everyone over Xbox live to vent so I choice they ■■■■■■ my tomatoes up, gears of war allowed me to vent my frustrations via emote spamming so maybe they got their matoes banished too?
There’s a few examples in this thread that they (we) clearly agree lol with the spamming part anyways. I am on the side they are still useful when used right. But a mute option for the annoying spammers is most definitely desired.
I think Gears is best played with character dialogue on. Character speech can give indications of gun jams, downs, and damage. It’s a functional part of the core gameplay unlike emotes and taunts.
Be good to be able to have more active emotes and voice lines as well imo
4 isn’t enough really cos if you wanna cover basic talking - hello, thanks, boo, group up, laugh etc mixed with a few emotes you just haven’t the space
Lmao someone must’ve ran into an onyx guard and got bopped so they kept spamming that annoying laugh. We really complaining about emotes now ? Cmon it’s extra customization, nothing more funnier than seeing General RAAM dance around. Plus I need more ways to annoy people when I down them other than the traditional T Bag. It’s not like it’s happening every game either. You might have that one toxic guy every now and then spamming laugh or some other thing but it’s not every single match. Only reason I could see why anyone would want it out is because it doesn’t match the gritty tone of the series but we’re so deep down the hole at this point with 4 having brighter colors and what not I think that ship has sailed.
That’s like complaining about the one toxic guy you’d run into that would do a beat down execution every time he downs you so in turn you’d want that taken out cause it takes too much time and ruins your experience
