Let's have an honest conversation about the state of Gears 5 and this community

I don’t have tools to work with… look at the game , the restrictions, the hero shooter system , the unability to choose duplicate characters or even buy any weapon you like from the fabricator…

If the game was great I wouldn’t even dare to say anything mean , harsh or bad about it … you have to agree that it would be unfair for me to give a harsh critic to Vermeer Paitings were most of the people agree they are masterpieces.

same is with this game… its not a good game… if it was I wouldnt be here and instead I would be playing Gears 5.

I’ve criticized this game to hell and back.
Saying the game has problems is not my or even OP’s problem, it’s simply the "TC trash, Gears 5 trash’ reductionist post that could easily be throwaway tweets that become a problem that don’t add anything.

Then again, maybe everything’s already been discussed and this is all that’s left.

The OP was calling for a honest conversation towards the state of Gears 5 . . I just couldn’t resist telling him the truth.

I do however agree its not your problem or OP’s problem, its TC’s problem without a doubt.

I sometimes wonder if they actually planned out the heros in advance. Even before the pandemic, things were coming out slowly.

I dont think so @Watery_shoe if it was the case they would have included lots of them on release of the game. and instead they were drip fed into oblivion as of now…

Had to be. Not only are you recording several lines for the characters, you also have to tailor a specific character to fit within an evergrowing metagame. It’s hard enough to do so with PvE, can you imagine if they actually tried to do it in PvP?

You know what, that’s absolutely fair and I have no argument for that. Kudos.

Yeah it was pretty obviously planned out. It’s part of the service based game philosophy.

Schedule is:
Release 1
Release 2
Release 3
Release 4
Etc.

Each release has some planned major features but also includes room for testing, bug fixes, feedback, and hot fixes/patches. This is all planned out before development begins, but it is flexible enough to allow for course correction if there is enough user feedback regarding the in-game experience.

Source: my personal work experience in the industry

Then I can only hope the changes will be smooth if TC managed to plan out some time for them do said course correction.

I’m just guessing but I feel like there have been some major shifts within the studio which has led to massive delays.

Rod left.
Ryan left.
For some reason OP3 was delayed by 4 weeks.
The Pandemic caused a global lockdown.

Given all these things, it’s impressive the amount of content that is still being released. That was because of planning.

Contaray towards your little rant towards me, Basically you belive that no one other than The Coalition could deliver us great Gears game… is that what you wish to imply,…?

the people who made Mortal Kombat 11 can also do that … not to mention MOON STUDIOS they also are very capable to the task . hahahahaha

The Hero System was a great idea, I love it. The PvE in this game is hands down the best of any Gears game by far.

Can you expand on why you feel that way?

Contrary to your assumption, no I don’t.

I do however think verbally fallating CDPR because “TC Bad” does nothing for any substantial criticism towards TC. Hence my point.
