Congrats man!

As a solo player myself, I reached Onyx in Op4… after that I started encountering stacks even more often. It was just way too hard to progress ranks while queuing up with solo players.

Now I don’t touch KOTH anymore in OP5. I just play TDM and FFA and a little 2v2 here and there.

I’ve never been a huge fan of the Gears rendition of Keep Out of The Hill. I prefer Team Dumb-■■■ Match over it, and I wouldn’t exactly call myself a fan of that mode either.

Same as you - a solo player who got stuck at Onyx 2 KotH in Op4. I just got on OP5 ranked last week and managed to get to Diamond in about 3 or 4 days. It’s a little bit more forgiving this time around with the GP changes (GP on round win, playing solo, and MVP).

I know a lot of people are waiting until the tuning changes take place. But hit me up if you wanna squad up.

I’m a solo player myself but I tend to play aggressive and run around maps to flank and try to get kills, I cap/break when my team needs help.

I guess everyone has their own play style and routine per map

I live in a low populated region and I always tend to get matches in the US and I end up having ping of 210/240.
With my ping I don’t think I would be much help to you, I fear I might just slow you down…

The higher the rank, the more you need to spread out and position. Control spawning, intercept enemies, etc. You don’t need a bunch of people around the hill.

I understand that killing enemies keeps them away from the ring, that’s understandable but The team shouldn’t leave one man to guard the ring. Not doubting the player’s skill but since it’s 4v4 now. Two people should defend and two should push and take out the team. A good team would have everyone in the ring or at least in good positions around or near the ring. But avoiding the ring opens it up for the opposing team to just take it. As the Op said “It’s king of the hill, not avoid the hill”

Well that’s what happens when u only get 1 stupid gamemode that gets stale fast. So the devs don’t care and neither do we gears should be execution and wingman but instead we get gears of KOTH lol nty

I wish caps and breaks would dish out the most points. Maybe people would actually hunt the hill more, instead of running after players completely ignoring the hull in general just to get kills and get a unfair MVP on a ruined leaderboard.

But then how am I supposed to create my KOTH kill 'tage!? It’s Kill/Death not Capture/Break!! /s

(Nah, I totally feel you. I understand when this happens in CooP, but in MP it gets a bit annoying being the only one playing the objective)

Huh? MVP is decided by your caps and breaks and not your eliminations in KOTH.

Guess what I’m saying is, I don’t feel MVP is dished out correctly for KOTH.

I mean there’s been people on this forum, myself included posting screenshots from their leaderboard showing players who I’ve had like 3 caps, 2 breaks, @ like 75 kills and they’d get MVP.

Whereas players who play the objectives would have like 15 caps 11 breaks and let’s say 60 kills would come below them. It’s pretty sad. MVP does feel as though it’s rewarded on most Kills.
