Looking for some help and suggestions. Can anyone tell me the best card set up for JD for Hordd? Thanks

Tldr-version: Capacity, Bleeding, Custom Boomshot and Lancer, Officers Prerogative which can be switched with the artillery-stun. Stun isnt really necessary though.

Just for note:
From OP5 (around October) there will be changes in Horde. We will possibly get more information about it tomorrow.

Correct. I’m a huge horde fan since 2. I love the changes coming. Getting back into G5 horde. We will have semi freedom.

Will be able to pick any character we want (which it should have been like this from the beginning)

I use the above except I use confirmed kill and not custom boomshot. I’ve never needed extra boomshot even on master to take down the bastions. I do sometimes swap out confirmed kill for stun depending on map.

Custom Boomshot is useful if you want the Bastions to go down faster/easier or kill with more than just the GL.

It’s funny though I still see many players who play as JD and they still don’t know the trick to shoot the boomshot on the shield. But instead they use boomshot/GL on bastion

It’s a meta thing. Probably. :grinning:

Yeah that could be true

What’s the appeal in Confirmed Kill? I know what Concussive Strike is for, like it would be useful on Guardians, Sentinels and Bosses. But they die too fast anyway with Officer’s Prerogative. I use Boomshot very often, switching between GL and Boomshot, perfect active reloading them both. So I get more use out of Custom Boomshot, than I would from Concussive Strike or Confirmed Kill. There’s not much to use on except Bosses, Guardians and sometimes Bastions. The Custom Boomshot can be enough to instant kill Drones, bypassing DBNO and sometimes enough to blow up DR-1 and Scion. Also is one shot against Bastion.

How much damage is an active Boom to Scion or DR-1 head with Custom Boomshot?

One shot with Critical Damage perk maxed. And the DR-1 would self destruct.

The 25% active reload effect apply to every weapon including the GL and JDs Ultimate, which is almost thrice the normal damage. And you always need the Boomshot for Bastions anyway.

Confirmed Kill is one of the most useless cards in the game.

As I said I never have a need for it, I take the bastions down before they are an issue time and time again. I find the multiple fires of death from above on master far more useful to the team than extra boomshot damage. But use what works for you.

You completely missed my point. Boomshot affects your GL and Ultimate as well which in return will get your Ultimate back up just as fast.

I can’t find anywhere that says Cutome boomshot affects your GL as well. A perfect active on the boomshot before firing ultimate helps but how does the custom boom help GL?

Any card that buffs a particular weapon also applies the active reload buff to any other weapon. I think it’s an unintended inclusion, but fact is it works.

So for example Keegan could have the Custom Snub card equipped which gives you up 50% extra damage just for the Snub. However the extra 25% active reload damage doesn’t just apply for the Snub, but applies to all reload related weapons such as the Longshot or the Lancer.

Same applies to Fahz’s Modified Longshot and Modified EMBAR, Marcus’ Custom Lancer etc.

Yeah it’s unintended meaning it could go away at any time. Same thing when Grace plants the shock nades and causes bleed on anything that walks into it because she’s holding a pipe, or when Emile carries a gnasher with his gnasher-buff card and gets extra melee damage on top of it. These clearly were not meant to work that way and could be patched out any time, probably Op 4, so maybe best to get used to killing enemies without them? That way when they’re suddenly taken away, you don’t get surprised. Just my two cents.
