It's not the bugs.. It's the lack of fun

Escape was fun at first. But it became very repetitive very quickly, I think it’s mainly the lack of environmental options. I understand you’re in a mine, but every level basically looks and feels the exact same. Plus even on higher difficulties while it is more difficult and 1 mistake can end the game, but all it really does is increase the amount of enemies, make the enemies bullet sponges that do 1 shot 1 kill, and make ammo almost non-existent. And it essentially becomes a melee match that focuses on bleed damage to kill anything.

Plus I see no reason to even play any of the player created maps or create my own. As you get nothing from doing it. Nothing in those maps counts toward TOD or Daily Challenges, and you don’t gain any XP from it.

As for Horde, its a downgrade from Gears 4. I like that characters are limited on what they can build, but the limitations on what weapons they can buy I think is stupid. Any character should be able to buy any weapon. Also the perk system should never have been added, since people now hoard their power instead of putting into the fabricator to use on the perks, which I never notice any real difference from a perk at level 1 or if its at level 10. Plus them locking characters to a specific class and not allowing duplicates is pretty dumb, but I can kinda see why, since all Horde turns into after awhile is JD spamming GL Launchers.

The Taps are dumb and should never have been put it, I rarely see anyone ever use it unless it’s close to where they’ve decided to build the base.

And Jack is just pointless in Horde. He is a support character to heal and pick-up power and that’s it. Every single game i’ve been in where there was a Jack or I played as Jack, all I ever did was pick up weapons to smelt in the forge, revive people, or pick up power on the map, nothing else. He does no damage to enemies unless you’re on Beginner, goes down real quick when taking damage and can’t even crawl (burst hop with his engine maybe? or maybe use his healing/zapper prods to drag himself?) and he doesn’t even have his other abilities from Campaign. Since he can’t equip or even swap weapons, you should be able to swap out what skill is used with Y with the d-pad and they should all have their own separate recharge times. Plus why is it the Jack is the only on who can’t access the stupid taps? TC couldn’t but a Jack panel on them, but they can put a Jack panel on the Forge map so he can ignite the furnace? Or at least make Jack similar to the Sentinels or Guardians in horde, let him equip a weapon underneath. Have it tether it like he would to pick it up to bring back but if you hit a different button, he drags the tether in and equips it. Don’t let him pick up ammo boxes, to refill the weapon, he can just use whatever ammo is in the gun when he picks it up, especially since he can put them on and take them off of weapons lockers.

Also I am a little mad you can’t put grenades or pistols on the weapon lockers, there were grenades on the weapons lockers during the dumb ■■■ Boot Camp you were forced to go through. So why not in Horde?

Lag is ridiculous causing too many issues… This game is f(%$&^*

The lag the last two nights has been off the charts. I’m playing on a 15-20ms ping and everything is happening as if I’m on a 300ms ping. The delays are worse than ever and sponging is at an all time high.

The bugs are what’s making this game lose its fun factor. I want to enjoy it but I’m tired of being cheated for no reason other than I am pinging low. It’s a shame any of us are here saying this but it’s a reality that everyone needs to come to terms with. This game isn’t made for you if you live in the United States.

I find the lack of fun is due to the horrible movement and weapon tunning in this game, and the lack of policing people who use modded content it just make wanna people quite because where is the fun in a game where its blatantly obvious that another player has an unfair advantage either due to mods or horrible programming/animation

Agreed! Everything you just said. I swear… it’s like they didn’t talk to Gears Horde veterans at all. Like… not even in passing. When they revealed Escape and had those celebrities who barely knew what a controller was play… I knew we were in trouble.

Well said sir… well said.

I remember when Overwatch came out they had Cersei and Tyrion from Game of Thrones playing it on Conan’s show. Just looking at it I’m thinking “These 2 don’t know how to play video games. I hope they aren’t balancing the game around them cause it will be broken when I get into it”

You mean those WWE Superstars? Because many of them are gamers. One of them, Xavier Woods, even has a huge gaming YouTube channel. Dudes a bigger gaming nerd than most people here.

Henry Cavil, the actor for the current superman and Geralt on Netflix’s Witcher, is a big gamer. The story goes when Zimmerman called him up to tell him he got the part for Superman he missed the call because he was playing WoW lol
