Issue Troubleshooting & Reporting [Updated: 5/4]

Official support and bug reporting is available at https://support.gearstactics.com. We will be responding on forums where we can, but the Support Site is the best place for technical support and issues.

In this thread, we’ll also be updating you with information on the most commonly mentioned error codes or issues from here in the Gears community. We’ll be continuing to update this thread as anything emerges.

Crashes on Windows Insider Build 19041
Windows Insider Build 19041 will cause Gears Tactics to crash.

This is only resolvable by switching your Insider Build from Slow to Fast - a later Insider Build has a fix for this issue and should resolve your crashes.

Issues logging into Xbox Live
Please try the following steps:

Start Menu -> Run Credential Manager
Click “Windows Credentials”
Delete all “Generic Credentials” that start with “Xbl” and “SSO”

If this fails to resolve the issue, please send us a bug using the link at the bottom of this post. We’re working to resolve this for impacted users as soon as possible.

Crashes with RivaTuner Statistics Server
We have detected a spike in crashes associated to RivaTuner Statistics Server when it attempts to create an overlay. Generally RivaTuner should work with Gears Tactics, but if you are experiencing crashes, we recommend not using RivaTuner and trying again.

GT102
The error “GT102” indicates the GPU has stopped communicating with Windows. When this happens Windows will instruct the driver to go into recovery mode, which resets the GPU. When the GPU is reset the game receives an error that the GPU has been removed and shuts down.

Graphics Card Not Detected
This issue is commonly associated with attempting to run the game on Windows 7. Please note that the minimum OS requirement for Gears Tactics is Windows 10.

If you are on Windows 10 and still experiencing this issue, we recommend rebooting your system and ensuring your drivers are up to date. If the issue persists, please submit a bug using the link at the bottom of this article.

Gameplay Issue: Unable to select units in Brumak fight
We are aware of an issue where manually cycling units may stop functioning in the Brumak boss fight.

We have a Title Update coming to fix this as soon as possible. Some users have reported reloading the checkpoint resolved the issue, or manually clicking the character portraits on the left hand side of the screen to switch units.

NOTE: Some users have reported reloading the save repeatedly may cause your save to corrupt. Please do not do this to avoid losing progress.

If you continue to have issues, you can submit a bug here including diagnostic information to help our team address them as soon as possible: https://support.gearstactics.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042436612
