Is TC trying to throw us a bone on a new map for operation 5?

I thought something more of Allowing Getting 1%-10% of Normal experience for character and/or 1 card - without achivements and medal progression. Its obvious that it would be abused if it would work like an official map.

I know that more sophisticated tools will push back people. I wouldnt mind that current editor would be available for more modes - not only escape. Current Editor lacks of content - maps made by it are repetetive and boring if you use it longer. Also it lacks of adding special events(similar to placing weapons on maps - so you could define what happens when you reach that point) that would give you ability to make something different. Even a bunch of simple events in a proper combination will be refreshing for a simple game mode.

I’m against more devkit looking editor from TC - as far as I know TC - it would destroy every installation of game heh.

It’s because they’re bounding boxes, not the actual geometry that gets rendered in-game.

At the left side you see a staircase leading up which is why I believe it doesn’t match with anymap and is going to be a completely new one. Not even Escalation has something like that. Only that Old Bones map but it doesn’t have a triple staircase. With some alterations it would work though but I don’t think TC will bring back such an old map and also modify it a bit.

If you want modders that are at or arguably better than the devs these guys are up there, but compared to an average Skyrim mod its night and day.

Old Bones would be a plot twist, nobody would expect them to actually remake it. IIRC Old Bones got a bad rap even back when Gears 1 was around, so would be surprising to say the least.

COOM-rim is a really bad example for good mods, Can’t make good mods when the vanilla-game is trash.

Wow what a hater… I don’t care what you think about Skyrim that doesn’t change the quality and quantity of its mods.

Understand there are folks that have spent hundreds/thousands of hours making mods in games, so to imply that they’re all just awful is insulting. Modders get no love

I think they are accurate, as you can still easily make out some elements/aesthetics/structures which are unique to those maps.

#2 seems a bit tricky. I am 100% sure that it isn’t any map from Gears 5.

Except Blood Drive isn’t a Gears 5 exclusive map like the other 4 have been confirmed to be. I’m not saying there won’t be legacy maps added, cause there will… but the tweet was meant to tease a BRAND NEW map… it’s in the tweet guys, specifically says Gears 5 maps… not maps that are in Gears 5. Which again lines up cause the other 4 are blatantly District, Exhibit, Icebound and Reactor

Meaning that only leaves Pahanu(clearly not), Vasgar(nope), Asylum(nope) Training Grounds(nope) and All Father’s Arena (could be inaccurate, but doubtful) thus I’m very certain it’s teasing something new… definitely not Blood Drive that didn’t debut in 5, and not any of these other Legacy maps people keep guessing, not saying their hopes are going to be dashed, still could see their maps they want, but I guarantee you #2 is a BRAND NEW map added in Op 5.

Was it good prior to 4? Because in 4 it looked like a tiles map

One of the most important and characteristic things about Rustlung in Gears 3 was just how atmospheric or in other words unique it was in terms of how it looked/felt, it was sort of a dark map with this weird and unusual feeling that it exuded with the setting (you were in a submarine I think in the middle of a storm) but in Gears 4 it completely removed the most important element of the map, it would be like remaking Trenches (another Gears 3 map) but then deciding to remove the sandstorm element of the map, its just an extreme departure from how people remember it.

Don’t mistake what I’m saying about its aesthetics/visuals to imply that the map was an amazing Horde/Versus map, the map was cringy due to Silverback in 3 and its layout for Versus, and for Horde it was fun but it wasn’t close to the most popular maps IIRC.

When I say that TC doesn’t really understand how to make maps their remakes are great examples, they don’t understand why those maps were popular, they fail to understand how to improve/“evolve” said maps into being better (BloodDrive is the most obvious example I think) and ultimately the remakes they do just end up failing more or less because TC just looks at a map and says “its popular” and that’s literally the only metric they understand.

I could go on about other remakes if you’d like :slightly_smiling_face:

Let this sink in for a moment; these are the dudes that thought DRYDOCK deserved a remake… I’ve made my case your honor :joy:

The number 3 picture looks like it has a girl on it. maybe its a strip club map

Naw it’s just exhibit

On the online Gears 5 Stats page, it is telling me that I do NOT have all of the Horde Frenzy maps mastered and that I’m only 22/23. Seeing as how there are only 22 maps currently in the game, maybe the pic in #2 really is a new map they are teasing?

That’s funny because I saw the exact same thing about a week ago except I didn’t put the two together. I thought Coalition just made another mistake.

If that’s the case, I wish it was 22/24 or 25. One new map will just become stale because everyone will wear it out in a week.

Holy cow, wouldn’t that be funny if we only got one map!

With the explanation that there has been so much going on with the remake of horde, they have not had their focus on maps - the ones from OP4 will stick around for a while longer. But for OP6…
