I would say that the Gears Community is pretty small and it isn’t getting better with being tied down by the xbox brand. Are we just constantly negative? I wonder if Ryan was just looking for a way out just like Rod. Are we gonna get another face of Gears/TC? Is anyone actually gonna stand up and take Rod’s position and be public about it and interact? I know that the forums are pretty small due to be forums in 2020 but when a newcomer comes on here and sees the billion threads on “game sucks uninstalling and exploding my Xbox” what will they do? Gears 5 has it’s negatives and it has many negatives but maybe we should shine more positive things about the games and maybe that would bring TC out of their canadian fortress and interact more with the community. I don’t know, just random strung out thoughts and questions hastily slapped together.
I don’t think it’s the negativity or toxicness on here that keeps them off. It’s the lack of respect for the forum from TC’s side.
I’ve seen a few really awful tweets get replies, I’ve seen octus get involved in a thread on reddit where the title consisted of “F##k you F##king coalition you f##king ruined X you f##cks” .
But on here? You say the game has issues and you’re automatically the bad guy in tc’s eyes and not worth a response. Your feedback is probably just logged as toxic and ignored. If it is even read at all.
Apart from the couple of very good volunteer mods, their whole entire company just flat at pretends this place doesn’t exist. I mean how often do you see any of them posting anything or answering questions?
It’s a TC issue not the forums, as their skin seems plenty thick on other platforms.
I don’t understand why, is it because forums aren’t popular or just? Reddit is a hellhole and twitter is a constant battleground. I like the forums because of the good and fair moderators and that we can actual have good conversations. (Plus I’m banned from Twitter and their discord lol)
It is easy. Gears 5 is my last Gears game. Maybe I give it a try when someone else is developing Gears 7 or 8.
gow ue has Bugs, Gears 4 has Bugs, Gears 5 ist obviously a huge Bug. And they don’t even care about their games. As a developer I would work until it is flawless. Now all games are more or less unfinished.
Maybe they are too small to handle all that stuff. We are waiting for our Gears 4 Patch since january. But they have time for Gears Pop and Gears tactics. And they always have a deadline for Tour of duty. They need more people or less work to handle that. And to patch the stuff they are promising for years (Gears ue).
Dude, if Rod and Ryan dipped because they felt the community was too negative… well that’s on them.
Rod especially. You understand how much BS this community has weathered since 2006? No fanbase, especially today, would have put up with things like the GoW2 launch.
… except this one. GoW5 was horrible at launch as well and people still held out hope.
So as negative and toxic as this community is, we ain’t taking the blame for the mistakes the developers make consistently.

Bethesda: Fallout 76
Blizzard: Diablo 3
All of those games are in the vein of being games as a service. Gears is a shooter stretching itself to fill that role.
And GoW2 genuinly was a mess, from a AAA attached to MS, coming hot off the heels of one of the biggest games of the generation that revitalized cover-shooters, third-person shooters and managed to showcase true next-gen visuals, cementing itself second only to Halo on the MS flagship.
If we had another Gears 2 occur now, we wouldn’t see two full years of support and dlc, a sequel greenlit, it would be the end of the franchise.
We’re basically playing an even worse version of Gears of War 2 with the arrival of OP3. I never imagined this being a possibility but the new movement brings this into that territory.

To be fair, you can suicide by way of rolling. It’s basically suicide by enemy — I didn’t want cover; I wanted to roll head first into a Gnasher.
Yeah I don’t get it either. Reddit and especially twitter are much more harsh than we ever are here.
Unless they have some pleb curating their twitter feeds so they don’t see the death threats the platform is known for, I don’t see how we could possibly considered more horrible.
I am way more harsh on reddit than in here and lots of fans also give very no holds barred feedback. The weird bit is TC reply to that kind of nasty vitriol on there. 
Sadly this attitude probably came from the top, Rod had no love for us here and I fear that attitude spread to the rest of TC from the start.
As you say feedback here is much less harsh and (two) mods do a good job of weeding out the truely awful stuff. Maybe one day they’ll come to see us as the actual place to be chatting to fans, but I fear that won’t be for a long time yet.

One button will not roll but will slide into cover.
The other button will roll. Forgot the exact setting but I tried it and it works.
It’s super popular in Australia but maybe that’s just because they’re used to all the bugs.

I run classic alt currently and roll is seperated, except roll out of cover that can still trigger on the A button.
I’ d love to use lb for bouncing, but the ease at which lb and rb fall off makes it seem like a bad idea.
