Is blade master the worst class in the game on the higher difficulties worth playing? General melee problem

Blademaster is one of the best classes in the game. From an escape perspective, the only downfall is you are dependent on venom. I myself have solo’d the surge and The Line (to name a FEW) as lahni on master and very few classes can even do that in general. I could say much more but that speaks for itself.

If someone isn’t good as Blademaster they probably need to work on their movement skills and dodging enemy meles, things of that nature.

My friend @RelaxingKoty is probably the best lahni in the world and he told me that scions only mele with their left arm so going left as they swing left is a big detail you need exploit.

In a 3 person game most escape maps are too easy (on master) relative to the characters used so you might be outside of venom a lot.

Long story short, the ONLY downfall is you need to embrace venom.

Well tell your friend,

That this is a live service game. Which means things change all the time. Which if you read what I actually said, this would be clear.

He can run with whatever as anyone can. But my point is that the card does not work like it did previously as there is a delay before it even works. I don’t make guides, explanations to people who can Master there movement and everything. I do it for the everyday joe.

Maybe this makes more since. As me being told I’m wrong after I tested this class (today) might I add is that it’s not worth the cost. If your a wall bouncing master then whatever, but this was not my point.

Any way, I dont post anything before testing it first so to each there own.

Later.

You don’t need to be a “wall bouncer master” to simply move left as a scion swings left. Actual wall-bouncing masters would be insulted.

Thrill of the hunt isn’t Instant like it was before if that’s what you are arguing but the passive makes up for it. The main difference I notice is two quick juvie meles can down you as opposed to it being 3 or 4 in operation 2 and 3.

The main issue for me is players thinking the class is unplayable on master from a standpoint of how good the class is and it’s cards.

Now if you are saying the class isn’t good because you need to wait for venom,or if you simply don’t want to wait for venom- that is a valid position.

So,

Here is question. Which is what my point is In nut shell. This card is an epic, which is 1000 gears coins per level. The card doesn’t even work half the time and do you feel that this card is worth leveling?

I just don’t understand how I can convince myself to keep leveling it when I know it has issues.

Does this make since now? This is my point.

Let me know. Just frustrating arguing about something like this when this was a lot of my personal time spent testing to try and advise others of the drawbacks so they wouldn’t waste their time.

Edit: never did I say the class was not good btw. Every class is strong with the right setup. Both of you just totally missed the mark here.

Cheers!

The original post says “Is blademaster the worst class in the game on higher difficulties worth playing?” I personally responded to that initially. I didn’t read all the comments overall since I figured most of them would be either inaccurate or misleading. I’m still not.

I 'm not big on paying coins for cards unless TC messed up the price. (i.e. A gold card having a purple card price). I did shell well over 100,000 coins for very specific solo runs but I’d never do it for casual gameplay. There is literally no reason to need to do that for any class for casual master runs. Players, including myself, just need to practice to get better at the game. Higher skill cards and mediocre play don’t mean anything. Well- not to me anyways but I have different goals than most I suppose.

It’s doubtful in general that a higher card will improve a players overall skill level or make the game easier. The issue is knowing what to do and when to do it. Improving skill should be the priority. Again-in my opinion.

Now if someone has a goal of only having cards for characters without actually being any good, then that is a different story entirely.

So long story-short, I don’t think anyone should be paying for cards unless for a very specific purpose.

If you personally think, thrill of the hunt as blademaster doesn’t work or isn’t that good-you probably should abandoned the class completely. Without the headling, it is basically another protector class.

Well,

Clearly you some how don’t know who I am or what I do and continue to do for this community. So, play with me someone time and I’ll prove to you that you can.

I have played with the majority of forum members here and we have a good time. But telling me in the end of your great post that I can’t play the class because of the card? I mean come on. There is always a way brother.

Hope you take up my offer some time. Might actually show you some stuff that you may not know. Who knows.

Well I didn’t mean it in an offensive way. I know I didn’t play lahni much when I was displeased with the speed of the thrill of the hunt at one point as well. I didn’t play lahni much in operation 4 because of the changes but the new passive /buff is why I started to play her again. I honestly should’ve adjusted to the changes in operation 4, I’d be better for it now.

I wouldn’t mind playing a game sometime. I steal a lot of information from other players. Especially @SNAKEYWAKEY389 who always has some new info about something everytime we play.lol

Sounds good man.

And your point is very well understood. My GT is same as it is here so I’ll add yea. But it would be good.

It’s funny though. I’m glad you guys are defending the community in this way, but just know I’m also just try to help it.

Cheers!

I’m just an everyday Joe player but I appreciated this Horde gameplay video.

My guess is that cardwise, you were using TOTH, brawler, energy surge and blade dancer.

I see that you perked bleed first, save for one damage resistance, then worked on resistance to a point, then onto the others.

More importantly, movement mechanics and judgment on attack approaches make the difference between good and excellent play.

Thanks to all in the community who show average dudes how to improve.

Why are you being so defensive man? Yes you help the community a lot by posting a few character guides, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be wrong. Neither of these guys were hostile towards you. They were just giving their opinions just as you did. He wasn’t even saying that you specifically should quit playing lahni, he was saying that if the card isn’t beneficial to your setup than you’d be better off running another class. And that goes for all players, not just you. Relax.

It’s all good.

If you knew me. You would get it. I know I’m not always right, I say this all the time.

It was a debate, and it’s over.

Cheers!

Was responding to specifically and only to the part of your post that said “thrill of the hunt is broken and pretty much a useless card” everything else you said was true. This though? Is wrong. That card is blademasters best card, literally. Its the most important part of the engine for master PvE.

I watched some of your River footage with Lahni (Blademaster), skipped around some, and as a fellow Lahni player myself (my favorite class), I’m curious as to why you don’t challenge yourself more and play her with a non-breaker mace playstyle?

I’ve noticed almost 99% Lahni players play this way, and I’ve always been curious as to why. Is it because it’s easier, and players just want to get the match out the way?

Consider that some players are more interested in what they find more fun rather than the “challenging” ways of playing.

Since I switched from a breaker mace style to a brutal claw + quick knife slashes style, I have stayed alive far longer…and wasted far less energy in the fab buying replacement maces after the inevitable insta down I suffer within 3 seconds of buying the first one!

Not having the mace to swing around has definitely made me a better player of this class.

Because I’ll die without a mace for the bigger enemies. Running around like that on the enemies side of the map isnt exactly ‘easy’ id say.

I like playing aggressive. Obviously no one is perfect, you’re gonna go down and die sometimes as a melee character its just what happens. High Risk, High Reward. If you’re team is good and if you’re engineer doesnt fill up the entire map with sentries then money in the fabricator will never be a problem.

I just have an accute self awareness and feeling of shame when I let the team down - it is the same reason I don’t engineer even though I have a level 19 Robotics Expert through Surge speed run grinding!!

Does anyone know if the horde mutator that slows down player health regen by 50% impacts on the Thrill of Hunt card? I am wondering if it is a good thing to put on when this mutator is on, or if it is a waste because its healing is halved.

You should always have on thrill of the hunt. I promise you. It bypasses health regen delay modifier because it gives you forced healing.

Even with your ultimate and shock chain?

Do you have friends you play with, or you play solo a lot? You should never worry about failing in a game that it’s inevitably gonna happen, especially if your intentions are good.

The Gears community can be very brutal. They’ll make you feel horrible about the little things done wrong. You just gotta have thick skin, and just always stay true to your true intentions of trying as best as you can. And, ultimately, find others that share your likeness, and group to play.
