So, while my age is nebulous to a certain number of members among the forums… I will admit that I have never gotten or received a tattoo in my life, but on the course of planning and prepping to get one. As it’s been one of the strongest influences on my life (that’s not even a joke, 100% legit and I think that’s okay, fight me), and my favorite franchise by far, I wanted to ask the community we have here what you guys think would be appropriate for a Gears tat, since I have a hundred different ideas and I’m not sure which one to chase. Also if you have any existing Gears tattoos I’d love to see/hear about them.

What ever you get make sure it’s what you want :100: Don’t ask for anyone’s advise in regards to this as it your own skin and it will be with you for life. If your happy with it that’s all that matters.
As some one that has tattoos and regrets getting them as they were a spontaneous decisions at the time, I urge you to think hard before you make your final decision.

I have 8 tattoos. One of them has a Gears influence but is not actually a Gears tat.

A friend of mine always wanted a tattoo and was thinking on it for years. We were talking one day and she said “if I’m still thinking about getting the same thing tattooed after all this time, then it definitely means something to me.”
To me, that was the best advice I’ve ever heard when it comes to making a decision on a tattoo. If it’s something you’ve wanted for a long time, that alone can be the deciding factor. It’s for you and no one else. Don’t let others sway you.

Yeah I’ve been sitting on the tattoo idea for maybe four years now, just recently deciding I’d rather get a Gears one rather than maybe Star Wars or the Witcher if that makes sense.

Yeah this is something I’ve thought about too, and one of the main reasons I’ve spent so long is because of how permeant it is. Trying to make sure I’m 100% on board beforehand, then I decided to ask everyone else’s opinions because (as shown) some of y’all have better experiences (or at least more experience in general) with Tattoos than I do.

The main concern I would have is placement. I have 3 (no gears related ones sadly) and 2 of my 3 aren’t visible normally in case a job or something says no visible tattoos. I like the design and if it’s important to you that’s the only thing that matters :blush:

I know that’s a bigger deal in some professions, especially like with Teachers where I’m from.

But in my line of work it’s no big thing, just about everyone I work with has one or two that I know of.

My ideal placement would be the shoulder or under the right forearm but if I was ripped like @GhostofDelta2 I’d get that ■■■■ on my pecs.

I have a Gears Tattoo all over my chest , COG , Wings , two Lancers also.
It gives me great sadness.

I guess if its something you wanted for a long time, go for it. All I’ll say is that several years ago I desperately wanted tats, and given that I was a minor at the time, wasn’t something I could do. Looking back, I am so grateful that I wasn’t able to get them…
