Love Kait making the final sacrifice for lasting peace. Wonder if she ages slower than others?
I haven’t gotten around to reading this fully yet, but does she go to the Swarm or just the (isolated?) Kantus group?
And assuming Myrrah’s genes were passed down to her, which is very likely, Kait is probably going to age slower than your average human on Sera.

Honestly I quite liked that. It would be a nice end for the series, but I get the impression TC want to carry this on past just a trilogy.
Sticking the kantus’s into the spotlight would be really cool though

Meh. I think it’d be out of character for her to become basically Myrrah, let alone even join the Swarm or Locust after what they’ve done to her. It doesn’t look like the direction TC are taking with her character anyway.

Agree it probably not the direction.
Could see Kait making that sacrifice though. Not becoming the ruthless queen, but rather one that would try to promote harmony.
We all know Gears 6 will find her still hooked to the machine at New Hope lol.
War and death tend to change people so you never know
I have no doubt the war and the deaths will have an effect on Kait but I suspect it’s probably going to be more of a change towards a more bitter person bent on revenge against the Swarm, alongside some of what Kait is like now. But maybe I’m wrong and she won’t be affected that much by them. Who knows.

Na this negates everything that was built up in 5. We got a full scale war now. I want some huge battles, large war machines, and a handful of new swarm generals to fight as bosses throughout the campaign. And I’m not ready for the series to end, with everything Microsoft is investing into i don’t think they are ready for gears main plot to end either.
Technically everything written after the first game is essentially fan fiction. Epic just cherry picked what they wanted to be canon. Let’s hope the next studio to take over just disregards Gears 4 & 5 and does something more fitting.

I kinda liked what Gears4 told us but the Gears5 story was indeed dissapointing
The only thing I have an initial problem with is Del surviving. He’s just so… boring. Losing JD is a major blow, obviously that also works well for the plot but idk… the Fenix bloodline ending and Del, a literal nobody, surviving because he’s too unknown to kill?

I think it’d be cool if they took on a cybernetic threat. Maybe like one of the Deebees only it’s super advanced. It uploads a sort of defense system. Almost like an invisible net in the sky that will protect the cog from the swarm only something goes wrong and the defense system begins to self destruct cog territory.
The real smart deebee gets corrupted in the process and starts viewing the cog (and swarm) as enemy and it uploads the corruption to the network and it instantly harnesses all the Deebees to share the same alliance. They begin mass producing more human like versions of themselves to infiltrate the cog bases.
