I hate to say it but

It might be time for Rod Ferguson to be replaced… After the cluster crud of gears of war 4 and this launch …it is clear that somebody doesn’t know what they are doing and as the boss it falls on him, sadly.

At least the capacity manager must be sacked … :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Honestly it’s just the way gaming is going. Less competitive. Less of a learning curve. Make everything strong so casuals can enjoy it and spend money on microtransactions

It’s not that… Can’t play a game on day 1. Imagine that on Nintendo in the 80s…

Nintendo in the 80’s didn’t have a release where the entire North American continent were all trying to connect to servers to play a game… Give it some time, this is to be expected… Yeah, it sucks… You’re pumped and excited for something… And it doesn’t go the exact way you think it should… It will…

gigid they had two, count em TWO, tech tests and server tests to prepare. There is no excuse. No Video Game, with the amount of money spent on Development, should have servers running using a potato, some wire and a stick of RAM. There is no excuse for this debacle. None, zero.

Nintendo’s online capabilities are still about the same as they were in the 80’s.:hushed::anguished::astonished:

Yeah, okay… Think about your kitchen sink… You turn the water on as high as it goes… And your drain can take it, water flows like it’s suppose to… Now take 10, five gallon buckets and dump them down that same drain… Guess what… It’s going to overflow… So do you make the drain bigger for that initial flood? No… You wait for things to normalize and it will flow how it’s supposed to.

No matter how much money they put towards the development of this game, it has NOTHING to do with the server clusters that it is running on… For the first 4 or 5 hours things were not running as intended… Well, right now they seem to be running fine…

Gotta just have some patience… It takes time…

People also forget not everyone jumping on tonight had a chance to play the tech test so that number has to at least be double. And sadly I agree with you. It’s not how gaming is done in 2019.

Fun fact : my ping on both tech test weekends was 28 for west europe, now since release that number went up to 50 . suspicious atleast .

Yeah, that logic would fly if we didn’t have to pay extra to play early access. Let’s face it, that’s the only reason many people even pay for the Ultimate editions, is to play early, so that’s money down the drain! Do we get some of our money back if we were unable to play the first day or however long it takes to fix these issues??? NO. So I dont wanna hear a sob story about oh this is how things go sometimes. Did they not learn ANYTHING from how the tech test went??? This is tech test all over again. SMH. Rediculous

Yeah it’s not great but what’s worse is that it’s expected in today’s gaming.

Managed a grind of 40 waves of horde last night before we all got disconnected. Pretty brutal. Also Horde… something isnt quite right, I can’t put my finger on what though.

Buying Gears 4 ultimate edition was a waste for me, bought it to play early (literally the only reason as season pass was a rip off) like you said and couldn’t even find a game 90% of the time and if i could it was always a terrible connection and it only got sorted when the games actual release happened, total waste. Hoping Gears 5 gets resolved quickly

Yeah, so many paid for early access… I paid $1.00 for the early access… May break me… Please don’t get me wrong… TC Should have done things differently… Should have staggered the time when people could play to cut down on the flood that happened…

This and the tech test are very different… Give it a day, things will normalize…

I gotta say im sorry, but tonight wasn’t really acceptable imo. I couldn’t even finish matches without being booted out or kicked off the Gears servers altogether. I ended up playing Gears 4. Everyone keeps saying there are so many people trying to play so it’s understandable, but that excuse is getting old in today’s time. When you’re putting out a big name game, you need to be prepared for this kind of thing to happen by now. It’s been happening with games so constantly now a days that they should know to assume that the vast majority of players on their platform will be playing it.

YOU may have paid $1, but many of us paid $80…so… that ish stacks up.

If the director of a studio got replaced every time an online game had massive connectivity issues on day one, I’m pretty sure they’d all be out of a job.

It sucks, and it’s annoying that it seems to happen every time with these kinds of games, but it’ll pass.

In this specific case, I can’t help but wonder if it has to do with not realizing how many people with Game Pass would flood the servers.

Yup, I paid $80 as I wanted to show my support for the franchise I love.

It’ll pass when the game has its actual release on Sept 10th probably which defeats the point on buying the ultimate edition to play 4 days early

They did stagger the times…it went by your timezone, so NOPE, that excuse doesnt work. Give it some time?? How much time?? A day, 2 days, 3 days, a week?..oh yeah, early access is 4.5 days, so should I wait until everyone else is able to play?? AGAIN. What was the POINT of early access if we need to “give it some time”??? How about give me $15 back.
