I am tired of playing with people who can’t read

Yeah I never understood this either. I’ve seen so many lobbies in the custom browser insisting on a Keegan for master Ice Queen. His Resupply is pretty short even with Duration on this hive and it’s hard to get it back consistently without causing lots of bleed damage.

I guess if he is marking and sniping with Recharge Bounty it could work, but I can think of at least 5 other characters I would rather run with before using him.

Interesting. Looks like my friend isn’t alone in this weird thinking then! I tried Ice Queen with JD/Demolitions today and I found that his Good Kill was very good for extra ammo - if you team is running characters like Mac, Fahz, or Kait, then they’d really benefit from the extra ammo. Most of the pickups in the supply rooms are pilfers. That said, JD isn’t exactly the most useful character for this hive either, although this ultimate with Spotter Support could be useful in some areas.

I’ve watched a couple Ice Queen score runs lately that have utilized JD quite well.

Good Kill for ammo pouch drops, Razor Hail + his ultimate to kill the Matriarch quickly and Grenade Satchel for carrying a ton of flashbangs for meatshielding the grenadiers.

Darn I thought this was a Guardian Thread with the infamous leaders who can’t read/comprehend “spawn swap”. Now I have nothing to contribute to the convo.

Carry on PVEians

Ice Queen was a struggle today. I made a point to do it not playing Marksman as I don’t really need cards for him, and no one else played him either. Also, no one really wanted to be the sniper which was strange. Usually everyone is fighting for it. Come to find out I’m not very good on that map when I’m not playing Marksman and no one else is playing a good Marksman or doing a good job of sniping either.

I had my mind set on doing it as Infiltrator. This also made me realize I’m not entirely accustomed to the new Infiltrator yet. So it took a few tries just to get in my comfort zone. Eventually I was getting through it fairly confidently though.

Even if there isn’t a Marksman someone still needs to be sniping and doing a good job of it, even if that means wearing two hats (CQC and sniping). The first fail I think no one took on the sniping role, well, except me but only half-heartedly. A freezing sniper took out our Lahni, who had been doing a great job until that point. The other guy, who wasn’t a very good Cole, died too somehow, and then ■■■■ hit the fan. I tried to make a break for it, but couldn’t make it to the saferoom before getting shot in the back by a hunter and then we wiped. In retrospect, I probably should’ve took a breath, slowed it down, and built up stim with shotgun kills on the trailing hunters before they could shoot me in the back. Like I said, I still haven’t completely converted to the new Infiltrator yet, so I sometimes blunder when I revert to the old ways.

On another fail I think we just didn’t anticipate how fast we needed to move in the second act. Of course, things can take longer with no Marksman, so we needed to adjust and work faster.

On later, more successful runs, myself and another player would take the sniping roles more seriously and I made a point to take out the snipers early on before they could ruin the run. Followed that up with CQC shotgun, taking care to build up stim on drones, juvies, and rejects before tanking any shots.

“No dupe classes/chars/skins”
I’m playing as Anya Robotics Expert, other half Baird Marksman, friend Dom Combat Medic. Someone joins playing as Baird Combat Medic. My boot was instantly equipped.

In the lobby or in match? Cause if you do it in the lobby it’s kind of a disrespectful move imo because I can’t find a way to preset a character before joining a lobby without going into one myself, then leaving it again and going through the hoops of going to custom and setting filters again.

And even if you can preset the class it’s simpler to do it in the lobby but some people are ridiculous and immediately throw others out when they didn’t get a chance to change yet.

Why do you assume they weren’t given the chance to change?
And you preset it in the class or character customisation tab, depending on what you’re changing.

It’s actually just disrespectful to join someone’s lobby or game and not follow their rules.

And what if you intend to join the lobby and change your setup to suit it?

Of course if they don’t change you can throw them but you at least need to give them a little bit of time to do so, not immediately hit the trigger finger after only 5 seconds which is NOT enough time do do so.

And you can’t change characters for PvE outside of a lobby afaik. Which would be time consuming and the free slot might be gone by then.

I did give them time. I said that, after a few minutes nothing changed.

I’m not that mean.

Well that’s an awful take, it’s asinine to join a lobby if you think the rules are “silly”.

My question was of general reach, not just in the one particular case you mentioned. Also don’t see where you mentioned that you gavw them several minutes to change in the lobby or if they joined mid-match.

Ha, brain fart.
Thought I had, I’ve not been up long. It was in the lobby, we were watching and waiting to see if they’d change for a bit, nothing happened.
Sorry.

If something discourages me from joining I just move on, especially since a lot of people don’t read what is said anyway. Which is what this thread’s about.
That aside, I like variety in the game.

Some of the rules I’ve seen are silly, yes. Maybe not yours but I’ve seen worse.

There are worse, I just enjoy the voice lines on Gears and like to hear as many characters speaking as possible. Personal taste, which is why I put it on my lobby, people may or may not disagree.

On the opposite side, sometimes people don’t read their own rules/change them for a new match;
“Master speed run! 1-50. 18+” and its frenzy on insane, they’re already on wave 4.

And there’s some that say “deposit all”, then halfway through Frenzy, they go like, “perk”.

Or if they have banned a certain class and when I join, they may be like, “you’re alright, you can stay” and they start…

“Kait, Paduk, Keegan”, but when joining as different character, they just start anyway…

Yeah, it can get a bit confusing!
Fortunately my “rule” is so general I don’t have to change it.

Do they mean the skin or their old class?!
Inquiring minds must know!

Though it’d be nice if you could lock slots to specific classes/roles.
Like slot 2 could be Combat Medic/Jack
Slot 3 Infiltrator/Blade master and so on.
Would help a few people cater to their desired incoming players.

It was in Op 4 when I would join Clock runs. I had played with the host before and they were pretty good. But unfortunately, they listed specific characters that weren’t not necessary. So I’m guessing when I joined, they didn’t mind which character I played and started anyway.

You could say I didn’t read the lobby title. :stuck_out_tongue:
Well I did, but sometimes hosts give you a free pass.

MONSTER!
I think there is a large issue of people not checking what theirs says at the moment though.

I might change mine to no WWE characters…

Be nice to all the noobs out there…

Had a host that kept on saying “Mac vklad” on the chat only for Mac to reply back with “???” and the next thing you know he got kicked out of the game. I did google translation and the host was saying “Mac deposit” in Czech :joy::joy:
